I'm running into trouble when exporting an MP4 (H.264) video in AME.
Inside AE my project color profile is set to sRGB. But when I export it using AME, the colors end up much more saturated, so apparently AME doesn't take the color profile into consideration.
I did find a workaround on the Adobe forums: using an adjustment layer with a Color Profile Converter set to sRGB on top of my main comp, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on my final video. What could be wrong?

I'd like to try it out with some files (even though zipping my files is a hurdle).
But it says I have to upload a preview video, but I have no idea what resolution or file size is needed.

I see you can also upload 4K video, is there any benefit to that? Does it increase revenue or sales potential, or is that akin to giving away your hi-res content for pennies?

Better late than never. But they're solving a problem that wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Google.
Google, the big corporate mammoth; you can't live with it and you can't live without it.

It's a discussion about changing Google Image Search? But knowing Getty, there must be more to it than just 'protecting' contributor's images. They'll probably announce some new deal with Google that's gonna turn out bad for us.

Can someone explain how their system works when they are offering our vectors for free. I just checked the site and found lots of my partners and my vectors there but clicking on them links back to shutterstock. Presumably they are a Shutterstock affiliate.
The Shutterstock ones are simply affiliate links, so that's their businessmodel, luring visitors with free vectors and providing extra traffic directed to Shutterstock (in return for a commission from SS).

This discussion makes me think of the 5 stages of grief: 1. Denial 2. Anger 3. Bargaining 4. Depression 5. Acceptance. jonbull is clearly in stage 2, being angry at 'these idiots' who give their photos away for free thus killing the industry. cobalt is in stage 5, accepting the way it is, and finding new ways (niches) to live with the consequences of the changing industry. I'm rocking back and forth between 2 and 5

That's correct, you just use the email address you signed up with, but you can add a secondary address (or more if you want) in your account settings.

Huh this is what they have to say for themselves
"Thank you for your email.
As part of an initial phase, the 2nd and 4th Tier has been removed from the previous Contributor Commission Structure. We understand that these changes have caused a lot of concern among Contributors but rest assured, the coming phase would be good news for Contributors.
All the changes will be conveyed in full in an official announcement once all the phases are deployed, which is estimated to be around the end of March 2018. Please bear with us in the meantime and do look out for the official announcement from us.
Best regards, Your Submissions & Review Team"
Good news how? Give contributors a commission cut (again) without prior notice and then make them wait 2 months before making a full announcement?

I've seen the interview with Zack and Cho
The blah-blah about building a community, creating connections and giving back to the community is just meaningless. Giving away for free is only okay if it's for charity, or if you get something in return (other than virtual download numbers and views). Well, the commercial design industry doesn't need charity and the designers apparently don't give back all that much (no free services). So in the end, it's unsustainable for the photographers because they'll not be able to make a living that way. In the meantime, Unsplash and designers enjoy their free stuff or ad revenue.
The photography/licensing industry may be changing, sure. Maybe old-school photographers are like the silent era movie actors who objected to rise of the talkies. However, eventually there needs to be a symbiotic balance so everyone (photographer, agency and customer) can profit, and currently the balance is off.

Even more important than the race to the bottom is the fact, as Zack mentions in his video, the total ignorance of (amateur) photographers about model releases and the possible legal problems arising from the commercial use of those not-model-released pictures.

I try to have a complete profile at each agency. Will it make a difference in sales? Probably not. For some buyers it may evoke a little bit of trust, but in the end, it's your portfolio quality that really matters.
I agree with StanRohrer that some buyers may want to contact you, so it might be useful to have some contact info or personal details.

If you match the source, the reencoding would be relatively fast. Fastest way (I think) is to drag all 100 files in Media Encoder Queue, reencode each mp4 file with Match source and audio unchecked, sit back, grab a beer, and let AME do the rest.

I currently have between I think the new levels are:
0 999 Level 1 30% $0.216
1,000 4,999 Level 2 40% $0.288
There's no winners among contributors! I'm on level 3 now and will keep the same commissions, but won't upload new images because I hate greedy agencies.
I think this is indeed the new level structure, because I used to be level 3 40% with 1200 points, now I'm level 2 with the same 40%. Old Levels 1/2 are now New Level 1 Old Levels 3/4 are now New Level 2 Old Levels 5/6 are now New Level 3? I've emailed them asking for more clarification.

If this is true, that's a sleazy move. And above all, without informing contributors.
If you check the current contributor schedule, you'll notice the numbers are missing next to the levels. They deliberately removed this column because they thought the change would somehow go unnoticed?

Thanks a lot for your replies, surely helps!
Makes me wonder though, does he even need sales sheets from every stock agency or should a simple paypal transaction sheet suffice?
What do you supply to your bookkeepers?
I'm from the Netherlands as well, so perhaps I can chime in. As others have stated, your accountant doesn't need to know every single buyer or their country of origin. That's only relevant when you're selling directly to clients, in which case VAT rules would apply. However, when you're selling through an agency, that's not your responsibility. All that matters if that you keep track of all payouts you have received, and give that total revenue number to your accountant. I asked my accountant once, and I didn't even need to supply my Paypal transaction sheet, only the total revenue. If you're accountant keeps bugging you about it, you should find another one.

I received an email from them:
"Thanks for reaching out. Were incentivized to sell the assets at a higher price since we share in profits, which means more money for you!
Content for the Consumer License will not be sold for less than 49$, which is the guaranteed price floor and you will make 60% after the platform has received their share. For example, if the Third Party were to receive 20% then you would receive $23.52 after a sale. If this were a Single-Use License you would take home $9.12. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!"
I followed up with another email asking if the third party's take is always 20%, or if it could be more. If it's only 20%, it sounds like an okay deal.
Third party: 20% Storyblocks: 32% Contributor: 48% of sale price
Edit: Received another reply: "The prices will vary for each integration, but our goal is always to offer competitive prices points to buyers while ensuring the majority of the revenue we collect goes back to the artists. We are always looking for new ways to drive sales to our contributors and that is something we are strongly focusing on in 2018."
Not the answer I was hoping for. If the percentage is going to be different for each partner deal, I'm not convinced to join.

Quick note about some of your keywords (although I'm not sure that's the cause of your rejection):
- Ingrediend. - Zattar is spelled za'atar. - 'erb' is how Americans pronounce it but it's not an actual word.

Amazing are the new bugs like this one
https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/healing-and-spot-healing-brush-lag
That's a 'feature', not a bug!!! (You can change settings).
I'm finding more often than not that I need to close PS via the Task Manager nowadays.
I had to close Adobe programs via the Task Manager as well. That is, on my previous computer (i5-2700K CPU, 8 GB RAM and HDD). Since I have my new computer (i7-8700K CPU, 32 GB RAM and SSD), it opens and closes smoothly. So it may just be your computer

"The iStockpro party may be packing up but that doesn't mean the good times are going anywhere. " "The party's not really over. It's just getting started. "
I threw up a little bit in my mouth. How to spin something bad into something seemingly positive (while it's not). Exactly the thing I hate so much about marketing (and politics for that matter).

I'm very skeptical.
We know the minimum price the consumer will pay, we know our commission, but we don't know what percentage of the gross revenue is for the third party. They haven't even disclosed which third parties are involved.
Until there's more info about our minimum royalties, I'm opted out. I rather see them putting effort into improving Marketplace sales, because these have dried up.
