What's up guys! I decided to go and try out a full report in video. So I showed how my revenue splits between agencies on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HVD_L2EI1I Cool video, thanks for sharing! Brasilnut likes the slow-motion Brasil flag

I know this is an old thread, but what has been people's most recent experience at CM?
I've started uploading some on there.
Looking forward to some of your insights.

I had 30 downloads yesterday and only 3 today so far. So weird for a weekday.
Anyway, need to stop myself from checking so often.

I just am in beginner mode: I can say that it was the best month I could double what I got in March, I hope to have better results this month, I will share the results, but I have to say that April was the month that more files went up to SS ( more than 200 ) Nice one. Keep submitting quality work!

Pond5 too seems like photography roadkill.
Vic said it best in one of his videos where he said he treats sales on Pond5 as "a lottery ticket", so better to have high prices since they're so rare.

no sales since 4 days... it's unusual for me. Yes, long weekend. Things should pick up tomorrow, hopefully.

How much from selling books about not selling photos?

Not so great $ wise but some nice milestones reached*
- SS: 453 downloads which is OK but wayyyy too many subs - iStock: $53 (already wrote about this, re-building so should pick up) - AS: $50 (a bit disappointing) - FAA*: $41 (first sales on there and finally broken-even) - Alamy: 6 for $156 gross. One $70 RM sale yesterday to salvage an otherwise disappointing month - Dreamstime $30 (so sad what has become of DT) - Pond5*: $19 (my first ever footage sale) - Canva: $11 (started recently and looking encouraging) - Arcangel*:My first cover, finally! Details pending. - Rest not worth reporting (Canstock, 123rf, Colourbox, DepositPhotos)

Good blog post, though I think you've missed Premium Access, whereby buyers pay a premium to access a much wider selection of files across Getty then get each file for a lower price. Getty pockets the premium, we get a percentage of the reduced sale, and we don't know how much the buyer actually paid. Thanks for your insight. I updated the post quoting you above. Hope it's OK with you

Been waiting 1 month to get a reply from Canstock from numerous attempts when my account had some IP issues when I logged in from a different country. Can't even reset my password.
What a joke site, why did I even bother with them? Next one to bite the dust imo.
Update:
They finally responded and issue sorted, but took much longer than is reasonable.

I had my first two sales with them in this month (after 1 year of nothing). To be honest, surprised about those, I thought the buyer(s) would go for something more artistic with dark shadows and grain but oh well..still figuring it all out.
There's a nice community at FAA but at the end of the day it seems like a bunch of other photographers praising each other and nobody buying anything, so I've really toned down on spending too much dabbling there.

Disappointed with Arcangel, lost almost all motivation with them. I've had some 20 sales with RH but their cut is pretty steep - 30% of what they receive, so lots of hands taking their cut in the already small pie. I did receive a 24 cents royalties from a RM Getty sale via RH which nearly made me puke. Otherwise, a nice agency with a strong distribution network. RH are image exclusive. Arcangel have an RF non exclusive collection but they don't allow duplicating on Micros. Their main collection is RM exclusive which makes sense since images go to suspense / horror type covers.

I'm finding it tough enough to justify being exclusive at a Midstock agency, let alone at a small earning Micro site with a questionable future

How do you know you have ONE sale? SignElements only report your total royalties at the end of the month with no indication what and how many of your images were sold. For all you know there could have been several sales for that small amount. That is my biggest criticism of SignElements.

Have you had any flicker of life from sign elements gave up contributing a while back One one sale (small) sale so far. Started submitting to them only 6 weeks ago and have 250 images so far. Will build up slowly since they don't take on editorials and these consist a small majority of my port. As per Master Steve's latest earnings report, he makes about $30-40 a month with them on 5,000 (?) images. Not much but then it's not much effort to submit to them. Also recently started submitting to PicFair which has an interesting business model.

Based on your numbers, I guess you have not broken the $500/month ceiling, have you? I've come close on SS

After 4 days without sales I got 7 sales just this morning. I wonder if they dont report for a while a then throw all sales together in one bundle all at once. My best days of the week are Tues, Wed and Thrus. Here's a breakdown from last month. Weekends are super slow. Yes, I also get a flurry of downloads, must be some algo thing. Today on AS, I had 5 and nothing yesterday, so who knows if there's similar things going on there. Keep in mind that sometimes the sudden flurry of downloads may be the same client buying similar images, I've noticed. You can see from the location.

Hi Zdenka,
Thanks for your video - very interesting serving as an accurate starting point for those considering starting out at this difficult game. I agree 100% that high-value commercial stock requires the key ingredients of both "simplicity and realism". This is illustrated nicely by your hair images and yoga shoot. Well done and thumbs up!
All the best - Alex
