With all due respect but this isn't a very representative survey asking ONE person But - I only know one buyer... I posted the pricing here to get a view from others - this matches what I use on Pond5 - reading that email from Yay, I think it might be better to reduce the pricing of the Bloggee size to perhaps $1. While I think people will set their own prices, and for a common photo it might cause a buyer to go to the slightly cheaper site, it would be worth sharing what we are starting with to see what we think the appropriate price should be.
I've started with
Bloggee: $3.50 Small: $7.50 Medium: $20 Large (which is generally 4500 pixels): $40
I asked someone who buys stock for various reports and presentations and she thought that was reasonable.

Nice design Tim, and nice images. A great match to my own searches - you are added!

Well I see them when I search in my site - so that isn't stopping them from appearing in a network search from outside

Each image is given a unique number - you can see it when you hover over an image in the image view page - it is just in front of the rest of the title. It is also there when someone buys an image. However, I do agree with you that showing it would allow a better customer service experience if someone is asking you about a specific image

Chico - just tried the search on your site - I see what you mean. So what is wrong, I wonder...
Steve
Edit: I just added your site as one of my network. When I search animal I see my one and your two when I enter the search on my own site. When I go to your site, I don't see any network results.

Are you entering the phrase in the search box - ie animals, not just looking for the category. By the way, I don't have any tags called "animals". I do have tags for "animal"
I probably should add that keyword to my cat pictures!!
steve
EDIT - sorry - I misread your post - you searched for animal, my mistake

Chico
No - the results from the network are independent of whether they have your site as one of the network links. Try searching for a keyword where there is a match on your site. It should all work

Good idea Glenn. I wrote a bit about the network on my blog yesterday, and I can add this sort of link. I think Google prefers to have the link embedded in a suitable phrase, rather than as a separate link - which I know you can't do on this site. Just as a separate thing - thanks for commenting on my flowers - I tried the link and it took a good 30 seconds for the page to load, which is far too long. The snow monkeys came up within 5 seconds. Could I please ask a few others to test that link for me - I really think I may go to somewhere other than Bluehost if this continues - I may be sharing a server there with some heavyweight blogs I guess! Steve Just to add to the question: I noticed that the link to BackyardStock is a search-images link, which brings up the network results. The monkey link is a image-type, which doesnt. I wonder if the network search link is adding to my page load time? As a general rule, we should link to a particular image, which itself will show similars eg http://www.backyardstockphotos.com/image/single-red-rose-isolated-center-of-romantic-valentine-day-art-ph-2/

The new approach works great for me. I'd vote to stay as we currently are with the "similars"

I'm OK with people right clicking - they may want to show to a colleague I guess in some sort of mockup. They can always do a screen copy whatever we do. So no need to do that for me.

Can u check for me? If all backwards simple array reverse is all that is needed. Leo I tried with a few images and the closest match (in my estimation) is always the one in the bottom right of the array. I think a reverse sort is all that is needed Steve

I'm also surprised about the time you are spending on the smaller sites. I submit to 20 or so, and the smaller ones are updated with 50 images, say, in no more than 5 - 10 mins per agency. My images are already keyworded, sometimes I have to add a release, but I don't submit to any site that requires more than a bare minimum of effort.
Those $10 returns add up after a while and they obviously continue even if you later decide not to add more images.

Bug in new Similars Widget:
I first wrote about this in another post, but after further research I think there is a small bug here.
The similars query is correctly pulling images that have correlation between the keywords, but when it displays them (either in the bottom or the side bar) it sorts the resultant images in the wrong order - the closest match is actually placed at the bottom of the panel rather than the top.
To demonstrate this bug, search for "solid gold coins treasure chest" in Google. My image is the first link - the closest similar image is at the bottom of the widget.

This is a fantastic addition!
A question though - the choice of similar images sometimes comes up with some strange similars. When I search google for my "bengal cat licking lips" the first image in my similars is one of a pair of hands isolated against white, followed by the expected series of cat images. I may be rubbish at keywording, but I don't think there is a great deal of similarity between those sets of keywords. There will definitely be some similars - isolated, white background, pair, etc. but others are much closer.
How is the order established, and is there something we can do to impact the similar search as we hone our skills?
Steve
Edit - did another test with "Solid gold coins treasure chest" - the similars appear to be ordered in the wrong way - the closest match are at the bottom of the sidebar rather than at the top? Is it as simple as that?

Not so much a bug as a request. Once we have a lot of images uploaded, searching for one particular image in the admin site becomes very difficult. There is an image search in the All Images page in Admin, but searching simply brings up the images in the live site. I wanted to see them in the edit page so that I could make a change to one of the images.

I really must congratulate Leo for his sterling work in SEO - both in the approach and his advice for getting best results in our descriptions and titles etc. I saw in my stats that I had a search query for USA Flag Candles - low and behold, I am number 1 for that pretty generic search. There must be hundreds of sites selling such candles with a lot more history than me, and here I am at the top of the search page.
Fantastic Job Leo!!!

Leo
I just did a test registration at my site to make sure all was well.
I noticed that the email sent with the password has "Thank you for your purchase at Backyard Stock Photos" - when they haven't bought anything, they are just registering.
Also, the login link in the email body still points back to the end user license page, not the home page.
I know these were raised as bugs before - did they get picked up?

I think I see. So this result is coming because other sites link to mine, Google finds that search link and find the site xml? So it is something we really need Leo to look at, rather than just something I can configure on my end?

OK - I have added my sitemap (and tested it OK) to Google. I'll wait and see what happens next!
Perhaps if Leo looks at this set of posts he will comment as it is impacting more than one of us

Very strange result this morning on Google search. I searched for "macro close cherry blossom dc festival" and half way down page 1 are two entries from my site, BackyardStockPhotos. The second one is a normal result of an image. The first one leads to an xml page that describes the results of a search in text form. I don't think it is the page source - it looks like a site map. Two questions - do other people see this? And then - any idea what is being searched? I do use Yoast Wordpress and I know it creates an xml site map. Should I be disabling that from being searched - I would have thought not, but displaying this as a search result on Google is not a great way to get traffic to our sites. Any advice very welcome!! Steve PS - the URL of the problem search is http://www.backyardstockphotos.com/search-images/spring/page/2/?symbiostock_network_search=1&symbiostock_network_info=1
