Ok, tnx. :)

But they could incorporate batch upload in site, like every other site... hehe.

927
I hate almost every aspect of that site (except for money of course) It takes me 2 hours to upload 15 images! Why didnt they put batch upload for multiple files (with limit of 15), but no, you have to do it 1 by 1 on slow server.

iStockPhoto.com / Has istock always been sto slow in reviews?
« on: April 03, 2008, 08:48 »
I am relatively new to istock (2 months), and review time is about 8 days. I mean, it is ridiculous. Especialy with 15 per week uploads. Fotolia, StockXpert, SS, process uploads within 24hrs, only dreamstime is a bit slower, 3-4 days, but istock is slow like a slug. Why? Why dont they hire more reviewers to speed it up?

ok, I found my images in unfinished uploads, but I uploaded the same image twice :( I'll cacnel it.

I dont like istock because they have very complicated and confusing design, not to mention such bugs and frequent downs....

« on: April 03, 2008, 08:07 »
Now that istock is working again, when I try to upload, and finish uploading, instead of puting me to editing keywords and stuff, it ask me for user name and password, when I enter it, it leads me to main page... there is no new uploaded file, and they counted it as uploaded (14 left) :(

down again?

I agree with you. There are some files that still couldnt be found. Maybe they are before V2, or something else, but for most new images, search engine works with more than just first 7 keywords. :)

934
I dont know, but take this example:

http://www.fotolia.com/id/7016486

keywords "dual" and "tube" are on the last place, and "dual tube" find this image. (and all keywords in this image works. Try it. Open my portfolio and try to find this image by any of its keywords, it works.)

Maybe some old images from V1 cant be found, but since V2 it works.

935
I see many of you still think that Fotolia searches only first 7 keywords. That is not true.

Fotolia search engine search all of your keywords asociated with the image. But there is a catch. Multiword keywords are not working. Also, only words that are in Fotolia dictionary are working. For example words like less known City names, etc will not be found, but most commonly used words will be found, no matter on which place are they.

Since 1st april there is a new rule, that minimum is 50 credits for cache out. They only have to update official rules on blogs or whatever....

Not a big deal. Every other site has simmilar limits.

Somebody mentioned ID. That is 2 months old rule... yes, like on most of other sites, you need to upload ID to be able to cache out.

Eugene, brace yourself for the news. As a photographer you are utterly a failure. Give it up.
Sell your equipment now while you can still get a sufficient amount of cash for it.

This is a fact: You will starve as a stock photographer. Don't under any circumstances quit
you regular job if you have one. Take up a more satisfying hobby like raising gold fish, or knitting.

The MIZ

hahaha! Bravo!  :D ;D

Fotolia is this month again (like every month) BME for me. (which I cant say for SS, unfortunately  :'( )

As for nuber of kws, 50 is too much. 30 is more than enough, everything above is spam.

I heard there are no categories at 123? Is it true? All I got to do is upload my files using FTP (with keywords in ITCP data) and click PROCESS and thats all I have to do?

Tnx for the tips. I'll look into next week when I finish uploading to StockXpert.

One question: do they accept MR from fotolia?

p.s.

Trebuchet, I am sorry, but I am already registered at 123rf (almost a year ago) but never uploaded anything, otherwise I would gladly be you affiliate, but you are a "little" to late. hehe.

Hm... I am very suspicious about 123rf, but I will give it a try when I finish uploading my portfolio at StockXpert (7 more days - 350 images left :)).

When comparing sites, Fotolia has always been my best earner, followed by SS. They are like 60-40 (FT-SS).

Than fllows dreamstime which gives me about 4 times less money, but I am happy with them, it is not small amount, just relative speaking to Fotolia. Than it is StockXpert which is half good as Dreamtime in earning, but still I earn a payment+ per month :)

So, if 123rf could give me at least 50$ per month, it is worth, definitely.

When I finish with 123rf, I'll think about Bigstock, but I thnk it is not worth trying at BigStock... hhhh

I have almost finished uploading to StockXpert, so I am thinking about trying on 123rf, so any information you ask, is good for me too.

Is it worth to try ar 123rf? Can you earn at least 50$ with 2500 images portfolio?

StockXpert proved to be worth the effort, but what about 123rf?
