I wouldn't worry about it too much, remember our friend here:

http://www.shutterstock.com/portfolio/search.mhtml?gallery_id=1256674&gallery_landing=1&page=1&safesearch=1&sort_method=newest

I try to keep my portfolio fresh and diversify as much as I can.

This guy is working hard, adding fresh stuff every single day  ;)

The real hard worker, I have seen in lifetime.. Now I expect number to grow from 700k to 1.4M per week.

Great stats,
This number will grow even more in near future.

Yes they are anf it is the fault of anyone that gave them their work.

Sale out for $15 and make the race to the bottom greased with cheap photos. I'd sell out my pohotos that don't sell anyplace else. Take the money. $49 unlimited for 1 year and then some person comes from them and claims they have dialy limit. It says no limit. Lies on top of lies.

This is what they are saying.. unlimited download with no caps.... I doubt their business model.. for everyone, I recommend not to upload in them.. as we are the ones who created this market and now we are giving hands to destroy it.

Image Sleuth / Re: Stolen Vectors and Photos Available for Free
« on: December 01, 2015, 09:49 »
Its very common... and the sad part is.. you ask them to remove any 1 of your file, which they will, but from other side will upload 10 more paid content illegally.

I hate companies who don't think of contributors.
They simply don't know they right way to do business...

They think, its their business, their market, their website, their doors... why think of contributor benefits.. its only they they and they.

988
Thanks Ann for those links.

For Black Friday they are providing a SALE of unlimited downloads at $49 for 1 year.
i.e. 300,000 images at $49
i.e. 1 image at $0.000163

they are destroying the whole market..

989
Hi,

I just saw that they are giving 1 year unlimited downloads at a very cheap price...

This is what written at their website:
Quote
"Black Friday Sale! Just $49 for 1st Year of Unlimited Downloads"

Unlimited Downloads
You will have unlimited access to the entire archive, including vectors and photos! There are no download caps, so you may download and use as much as you want.

No Additional Fees
All images provided on GraphicStock.com come with the right to use them royalty free in all types of projects. There are absolutely no additional fees beyond the subscription cost.

Yours Forever
You can cancel your subscription at any time. There are no long term contracts. Everything you download is yours to keep and use forever, royalty free.

This is so strange, I wanted to know how are contributors earning here? What license are they giving? Is this really profitable.?

Shutterstock.com / Re: Finally got into the $.36 tier
« on: November 04, 2015, 00:40 »
5835 downloads and months upon months of hard work later, I've finally made it. Next stop is the final tier ($.38), which I hope to achieve by sometime next year.

I've learned so much and there is so much more to learn. There's so much more to do. I had a slight burn out about 2 months ago and stopped uploading for a while, but things are moving along again.

I want to thank all the people who gave me advice and all the people who I've had heated discussions with. It gives me different types of motivation, but it all works the same way.

congrats brother... keep going..   :)
can you share the port?

993
Canva developers are a bunch of unprofessional babies who can't take any criticism.

That's why I only stick to the reliable agencies (SS and FT).

I agree +100 with this.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Fair Trade?
« on: October 07, 2015, 06:00 »
It depends what you consider fair trade. But also fair trade is also about the dealer and the buyers, each of whom has a different perspective.
Is it only about percentage or is it also rpd? (for example, I've had Alamy sales at 50% which have netted me <$2)
Is it percentage and rpd over sales volume?
We all have to make up our own minds.
I won't 'get out of bed' to make images for iS which are almost certainly doomed to sell for 75c if at all, yet another thread here has people who are anxious for Ft/Adobe to sell editorial for as little as 25c, depending on level.

I had no success with Alamy.

With fair trade I meant for contributor and buyers both.

Except for GraphicLeftovers, who are not working anymore... what other agencies are present who offer fair trade policy?

General Stock Discussion / Re: Returns and Downloads Per Image?
« on: September 21, 2015, 07:43 »
you are missing a critical part of the equation. Is that over all time and all sites, or one site per day (that would be fantastic) or all sites per week, per month, per year?

When I started 1$ per image per month for all agencies combined was sort of the standard rule of thumb. It is a lot lower now. The total of number of downloads depends more on if you are on mostly subs sites or ones that are more credit based - although that is also going towards all subs these days too.

If you look back there are some interesting posts here re: overall averages at SS gleaned from their SEC filings.

Thanks :)

Its all time with all sale.
