So they already have all my personal info and the images are already Royalty Free!
I'm not sure you understand what "royalty free" means. Is it an image with a person that you didn't previously submit a release for? Definitely post the wording of the document here.

About 35,000 +/- 5000
Well I'm impressed. Quite an improvement in 6 months. Back in December you posted in a "Best Day Ever Thread"
$25.65 from a total of 2356 files online. Fairly happy with that day.
Ummmm.... yeah.

So, $15-20k a month? What are you shooting?
The good question is "What are you smoking?" (maybe)
There are a handful of people out there doing these kinds of numbers. Why are people surprised when one is on the forum?
I'm not well versed in how much independents sell. To me, that many licenses must come from a portfolio that houses a mind numbing number of images. I guess it's worth it then. However, it's a bit hypocritical to complain about oversupply and then applaud a portfolio of 300k images.

They don't know you. You're just one of a thousand people a day to sign up.

Any regular license is fine.

"we still cannot say exactly when everything is going to turn around"
I think they were asking when _anything_ is going to happen. Aside from the pricing change, I haven't noticed any difference in the site since takeover.

I'd imagine a tripod would be worse on a boat. At least handheld you can try to keep the camera level while a tripod would pitch with the boat. But what do I know?

There are plenty of real hyperlapses in there. You should probably watch the video.
Yes, I see some in there now. I was just randomly looking at the ones on the site. Must take a lot of stabilization with the boat ones.

I thought a "hyperlapse" was the camera moving through an extended distance, like a walk through Central Park or something. All the ones I clicked on on your site seemed to just be regular, panning or dolly timelapses. Or what looks like a drone timelapse. What makes them a "hyperlapse"? I'm just curious if I misunderstood what that was.
"Hyperlapse: a technique in time-lapse photography, in which the position of the camera is being changed between each exposure" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperlapse
Panning and dolly are changes of the position of the camera.
Keep reading though : In contrast to a simple motion timelapse dolly shots, which are realized with short camera sliders; in hyperlapse photography, the camera is being moved through very long distances.

Seriously, don't worry about stock. Keep reading, watch some tutorials, RTM, etc. You'll get there.

HQ is retooling the process for the CTA, and is looking at later this year to open it up. Once it opens, it takes time to go through the applicants because it's much more involved than other places. The editors will look at portfolios, trying to find people with a look and content that brings something to the table. They'll do interviews to make sure the person understands what the co-op is looking for in a member. We're trying to find people that are really excited about the idea and want to contribute.

Your initial post sounds like you're not really interested in doing this, so I'd say just don't worry about uploading anywhere. It is a business and you do have to work at it a bit to see any result.

How about you guys? I have 250k images
250k images on SS? Geez. Between the worst and the best for May for SS.

Because of buyers possible misuse of photo?
Yes. That kind of thing just screams to be used on the cover of a male porn film or something similar.

Well, they can't offer opt outs every time a new partner is added. It's an all or nothing thing. So either you're into distribution or you're not.
I mean, would it be great to have a checklist of every partner and what the deal is so you know what is happening with each? Sure. Let me know who does that.

I don't see why you'd expect an email. I've never gotten an email when WestEnd, for instance, was adding partners.

it's a lot of outrage and ranting over something that is 'just how things work'. Like "Omg! I'm opted into partner distribution and they distributed my work to a partner site!!!". I don't think some of these folk should be licensing content.

I'm not sure how he knows how many sales were made. Is there a way?
I've never heard of any site paying out for infringing sales.
