No sales since mid month for me. I haven't tried creating new products since the design change and have no desire to. Some of my products are in the 10-14.99% range but business cards, post cards and posters are still over 25%. I can only compromise so far.

I always had my royalties at 30% but lowered it to 15% when I found out it would make a diff for promotion. After reading that, I will set it at 50%. I dont sell anything on Zazzle anyway. Since a few months its dead. I only had 2 sales a month anyway. Once I hit payout I am closing my store.
I agree with you. I lowered mine to the 10-15% range last month to see if my VB would make up the difference but its no contest. Now with the VB gone, I'm pushing everything back up. The commissions I've had this month are worse than the subs I use to get. I'd rather get no sales than pennies which is why I got out of microstock.

Adobe Stock / 4 pics 1 word game
February 23, 2013, 16:31
Have any of you on Fotolia found your picture on "4 pics 1 word" game? I was playing it on my iphone and zoomed in on one picture to get a better look and saw that it has the artist name and Fotolia on it. I began checking others and they all have photos from Fotolia. Great pics, cool game.

do you feel you are getting paid for the time invested creating products or is it more of a 'just for fun' hobby project?

For me, it's more of a "just for fun" hobby thing, but it is starting to pay off. It is a lot of work in the beginning, but like Maria said, you learn shortcuts as you go.

I have a tiny low performing port but am not going to upload more images under the current conditions. I'll leave my files online for the time being...would really like to get a payout first.

I think you just helped me make up my mind to finally pull out of Fotolia.

I'd been thinking I'd wait for my next payout, which with my dinky portfolio takes a long time; now I'd like to close the account immediately.  Has anyone on this forum recently closed their FT account and received payment of their current earnings, without a big hassle?

I emailed them a couple of days ago asking if they would pay my earnings if I closed my account....haven't heard back yet but will let you know

I've had one $.50 sale this year...and they use to be a good site for me before the merge. I'm glad some of you are still seeing some action

I can relate donde, I'm getting the same vibes.  I just hate to eat the money though.

I remember when he got banned here for a month and it got pretty boring...was so glad when those 30 days ended

I first "met" the MIZ on Dreamstime forum where he was extremely helpful and informative.  He was also funny and I instantly liked him.  Then I found him on this forum and then on his personal website.  He was responsible for giving me the courage and determination to get involved in microstock.  I never thought of him as a cranky old man but he was outspoken and agitated people, but I found that entertaining and liked him even more.  I wished I had had the opportunity to meet him and tell him how much he inspired me.  I miss him.

I'm out of the loop too ???

I just heard about it a couple of hours ago and thought about you FD....terrible news

It has happened to me before...I got tired of waiting and reup'd.  Then I had duplicates.  I think it must just get really slow sometimes.

When I deleted my files and requested payout, they said it would be sent to paypal within 30 -45 days

^  yeah, that was my original plan also but I went in and opted out everything.  The future for us is bleak, to say the least, if we don't stand together and fight for our hard work.

I'm hoping they do well too.  They are quick to communicate and seem to care about their contributors, unlike some of the others.

I just submit backgrounds and abstracts to them now, and even then I get the occasional "lighting" rejection   ::)

I am not sure if it is still the same problem,
but you can edit your hosts file and force that the new IPs are used for the microstockgroup site:

Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

and insert the following:

205.134.239.191 microstockgroup.com
205.134.239.191 blog.microstockgroup.com
205.134.239.191 www.microstockgroup.com

You must open this file as an admin I think to be able to edit it.

This IP is the address of the new server.

Simone

Thanks Simone, it worked for me!

Me too....I can usually get in for an hour or so either morning or night, but only once a day.  I never know when it will click in.

Sales have stopped for me too, but also the review time is much longer than usual. I've had a batch awaiting review for a couple of weeks now so I've suspended uploading for the time being.
