Would it be possible? More and more people are feeling "ripped-off" by what commissions they accepted back when they were amateurs

Do you think it would be possible to create agencies whose revenue solely cover the expenses?
Over the past few months we've heard the words "alliance", "coop"..

At this point, do we need the middle-man to be stuffing his pocket that much?

What are your thoughts on that?

No I don't think MicroStock is the bad guy but I do believe that the agencies have lost sight of the reality of an Agent / Client relationship. Somehow they have gotten it twisted and believe that we are employees but we should all remember that without OUR CONTENT they have nothing but empty servers and Databases with no data. Their livelihood is 100% dependent on our intellectual property. The relationship is meant to be symbiotic but like Government the agencies gain strength from the collective because while each of us earns a small amount each month they earn from each of us exponentially. This exponential financial growth equates to power for them and eventually they loose sight of how they got so powerful in the first place. In the end they are wealthy and they sell their servers and databases to even wealthier people for many millions of dollars and they go off and live the lives of wealthy people while we sit here shaking our head wondering how they got rich and we did not even get a thank you.

I have uploaded my first 10 a couple of days ago, it's still "pending", is this normal or is it stuck somewhere?
I've had 2 e-mails update telling me there has been new activity, but ..actually it's just showing the pending status

I think it is 48 hours waiting until review complete... Maybe few hours more or less...

Neat, i just logged in, 10/10 approved
Didn't get an e-mail though..

A pro at Alamy posted a few days ago that he earned over $24,000 with a port of 500 photos on ALamy during the last 12 months. One sale was for $8000 He said they weren't his best pics.  Getty gets those.  I'd like to know what he made on Getty.

Any chance for a link? I missed that thread

He really is an artist as i imagine them,

most of the time, self proclaimed artistic photographers only get a what?! this is art?! from me, but i love how he really does his own stuff, so far away from "our" world.

"I pretty much shoot one picture a day, cause that's all i can do", hahahah
I wish i could say the same, unfortunately, i need to shoot more to cover my failures

Thanks for sharing, leaf, that was interesting to say the least

Micros plus Alamy is a perfect combination. I mostly upload editorial RM to Alamy, but also some more or less unique RF photos.

Had my first sale at Alamy yesterday btw., after almost a year there. The sale was $524 and $336 to me after commission and fees, so it was worth the wait   :)

awesome, congrats!
still waiting for that first sale, while uploading and uploading, luckily their reviews are quick
how large is your portfolio after 1 year?
