New Sites - General / Re: Beware of Red Bubble
February 11, 2008, 13:13
If that is true about "Red Bubble", i think everybody that uses the site should know and  remove every image
If a site is dishonest they should be put out of business A.S.P.

Is there any more proof ?

I think that agencies should do like Apple with itunes, i.e. implementing a number of stores according to the country where buyers live. This means that european customers will buy in the european store (in euros), Americans in the US store (in dollars), and so on. Same price but different currencies....
what you think?

Regards,
Diego

Fotolia is doing that allready

In Germany: http://de.fotolia.com/
and in England: http://en.fotolia.com/

They charge customers in Euro's  or in pounds and we get paid in Dollars  :(

Don't like that at all.

iStockPhoto.com / Illustrations on Istock
June 29, 2007, 10:59
I don't understand why some illustrations are being sold for 1 credit on Istock
for example this image: http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup/people_specific_attributes/number_of_people/5_or_more_people/3452883_people_dancing_at_a_party.php?id=3452883

that is an illustration i made.

Had to take 6 photo's for the people, make silhouettes of the people
make the design
send 6 photo's as reference to Istock
Disambiguate the keywords etc

And its being sold for 1 credit while a photo is being sold for much more.

Is it still worth the effort?

I don,t know what i got for it but it sure makes u think  ???

at least my name is on the pdf and i don't really know if the image is gonna be published...

Today i try to upload a lot of new pictures to StockXpert, but they not assume the IPTC data, so i have to insert all my keywords manually. I use the AdobeBridge CS3 and i never had this problem?

Anyone have the same problem?

It is not stockxpert who causes the problem.
Its bridge CS3 that is the problem
try to disable the checkbox under "Adobe Bridge CS3 -> Edit -> Preferences -> Thumbnails -> Performance and File Handling -> Prefer Adobe Camera Raw..." in the settings panel (Win) - restart

that will help!

Did another search for (ocean beach and sunset) The first 10 pages or so are all exclusive . How are the designers gonna find my ocean pictures ?

#12
I think it favors exclusive photographers, did a search on sailboat and sailing and all of the first pages were exclusives. Thanksgiving can also be a reason.
Last month i made almost double the money i will make this month. :(
Did some more searches every first page were all exclusives ?  :(

First of all i don't have a ( i,m the best ) attitude.
The problem is that i take photographing very seriously, i can take rejections but if they reject photos without any descent reason why and no possibility to re-upload i can get angry.
Anyway my acceptance rate is a lot better now. And with the ones rejected they gave a good reason why so i,m pretty happy again.

Same here !
I,ve had all my vector images rejected with no reason other then: We're sorry, but we did not find this file suitable as stock
They are my bestsellers on other sites ! Nothing wrong with them, I find that strange..
I think they inspect files at 200 % instead of 100% with photos, i really can't see anything wrong at 100 %
All of my photos are optimal at 100 %

One more thing avout Istock: they don't use moneybookers  :-[ While people have been asking for it since march now  ???

The photos that go through sell very well !! so i will keep trying !
Portfolio Istock : 212
other sites around 1100

Have a look at this link!

It certainly made me think.

At least this way the cue goes down  ;)
I have the same thing only they accept like 15 % of my stuff  >:(
I,m afraid to put a lot of time in it and then find out they are all rejected  ???

My sales went down from the moment the keyword issue started.
And stockexpert nearly doubled
has anyone experienced the same thing?

There are only two sites worth submitting to with anything lower than 50 %
I assume you meant IS and SS?
Yep! They have got the marketing and the sales to make it worthwhile.

another site with a 30 % royalty  :-[
There are only two sites worth submitting to with anything lower than 50 %
Its in our best interest to avoid sites like galastock and lucky oliver
