I simply responded to your earlier statement about no being able to understand why a photographer needs to remove his/her pics.

I tried logging in to Microstockphoto and got an 'unable to determine IP' error.
Does anybody know if te site closed?

Well nightowlza,

Very strange that you are posting a message here when 'you' suddenly are not able to connect to the site, instead of checking if the problems are perhaps on your side or even contact us first if you have any problems.

Perhaps you are not aware of that we are working very hard on upgrading the site constantly, and try to not have any downtime at all.

Don't misunderstand me, we are very happy for all the great images you 'photographers' upload to the microstockphoto.com website. many photographers have sold quite some images.

Personally i don't see the reason why photographers would delete image from a stockphoto site (unless selling them exclusively), but thats every photographers own right.

The quality of images uploaded by professional photographers are very good and because there is a great variation of themes, makes it more attractive for customers.

Again, thanks for all the contributions.

MicroStockPhoto.com

When we upload files to a stock site, we are consigning the files/images to the site owners for sale.  The site owners do not become proprietors of those images.  Hence, when we decide that we no longer want to sell through that outlet, we should delete the files because it is no longer consigned to the stock site for sale.  It is not only a photographer's right but as a business that is the proper course to take.  If after deleting, the site chooses to stealthily re-instate those images and sell for themselves, then a theft has occurred and it becomes actionable.

Could someone knowledgeable please tell me if it is possible to embed a slideshow www.rodex.com/images/swc903 like this one when I list an item on Ebay.  Thanks.

Actually, I've been using them for over a year so they are not new at all.

and I keep hoping the owner corrects IPTC as he mis-spelt all as ITPC.  Emailed him but never heard back.  Poor show.

It seems to me that the question is not $400 or $4000 per month.  More importantly is how good a library you can build quickly (6 to 10 months?) and get to the point where you can have regular payouts from all your listed sites.  Stock photography is an annuity business so the faster and better quality a library can be put together, the more a steady income stream can be realised.

I wish I had started way back since I have been in photography for more than 3 decades but only saw the light a few months ago.
