iStockPhoto.com / Re: December earnings statement are in
« on: January 23, 2023, 13:26 »
Has anyone received their payment for this month yet ?
Yes. For....$1.47!
I thought they didn't pay out until $100 was in my account. I've never had such a small amount paid. It says it is for 2 x "Pictoright Collective Licensing Payback 2022 ", which I don't think I've seen before either.

I'm thinking of * back the crown because sales are so poor and still dropping. The only thing holding me back is that I'm not sure I'd make as much if I added my port to all the other sites as a non-exclusive.

How long will it take for the financial effects of this to be fully felt by contributors? This will help in timing my exit from being exclusive.

The recent number of locked threads looks like business as usual. Every now and then this happens - as if it is just the whim of the moderator to close threads they just feel like closing. So they close off a load all at once and it keeps the forums "fresh" (because there's always someone who can't resist a new wooyay).
I don't know why I keep reading the i-Stock forums these days. Maybe it's the same morbid attraction as watching a train wreck happeining in slow motion:-[ .

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Is iStock getting pickier
« on: October 03, 2010, 05:27 »
I think they are getting pickier. That's fine as long as they are rejecting for the right reasons. My rejections increased since the start of September, mostly for lighting, so I've just bought  the best monitor that I could afford and a calibrator. Fingers crossed!

« on: September 10, 2010, 09:41 »
I'm exclusive on i-Stock. My income has been level for months in spite of continued uploading. Recently, I've been getting a lot more rejections. All in all, I've been getting increasingly concerned about iStock but have been hanging on because in 250 more downloads I go gold. I think I'm in for a flat (at best) future on i-Stock as I'll never be able to keep up with the new targets.
So, if I went independant and signed up to, say ten other sites, uploading my 1000 or so photos on i-Stock to them, would this give me the same income? How long would I experience a dip in income for? Presumably other sites have upload limits that would mean I couldn't get all my photos up all at once. I'd welcome anyone else's experience.
Thanks
Jonathan
