General - Top Sites / Re: How Was Your October?

Worst month since 2015. Strange as all my other months have been much better than before.
Anyway, new month, new sales !

It could do with some more diverse subjects.

This is one slow site, takes ages to load. I think most customers will have left by the time their page request has loaded.

Yep had this as well, also in the Guardian and some other big publications. Alamy sells like more traditional stock agencies, this means often payment terms (for the customer) of up to 90 days. Got used to it and as far as i know they always paid out.

Sorry but pretty boring portfolio.
Doors, underexposed, animals often photographed from odd positions (brown bear, cows etc) no dynamics. The glamour shots are almost all photographed in the same style, black dress red background with very limited commercial appeal.

My best selling site, second year in a row. Keep up the good work Alamy !

On an average month my portfolio earns more in one day on SS than the whole month on DT.

Nope, sorry.

At DT this month i am at the same level as when i started many years ago with 1/100th the portfolio. I am even thinking of skipping them in the uploads from now, it's not worth it any more.

On the DT forum a reaction from Achilles read:

Competition, competition, competition. Remember Dreamstime has the largest customer base in the world, so if your sales are not up it's due to competition. Another contributor or more are getting what you missed. I won't repeat how you can improve, it's been said above. Dreamstime is growing strong, last 12 months were the best in more than 5 years. True, more designers shift to subscriptions, something we expected and prepared in advance to accommodate through all-at-once subscriptions that pay much better royalties than the regular ones.

Alamy,Fotolia,Shutterstock to name a few are far outselling DT for me, every month again and again.

I do not like to put all my eggs (photos) in 1 basket. Sell much more spread out than exclusive.

Yes i think DT is dying. Last quarter i had a lower revenue than my first quarter on DT 5 years ago with a portfolio now that is 25 times bigger than then.

100% rejections,as reason they give blurry/out of focus. Trust me those pics are 100% sharp. Some crazy reviewers!

I think that Apple or some third party will start to sell plug ins to make it more professional.
For the time being i keep using Aperture (still suits my needs) and will decide for a update/change in a few months.
