Since last month, Adobe has been on a downhill. Sales are down, above all they are rejecting literally everything since middle of February. Also, some of my images are in review for 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 months now. Every month some of the images gets stuck in review. I am afraid, with the rise of AI, a day will come when they will reduce our royalties like istock and gutterstock.

Since last few weeks, AI images are getting reviewed very fast, but they are also rejecting most of the content. Earlier most of my content used to get accepted but now most of the images with people are getting rejected. I suspect they are using a bot to review images.

I am uploading everyday, the new images are getting some sales but the sales of older ones have declined since last month. March was BME for me, even last year I got more sales with less images.

Since april 15, there has been a drastic decline in my sales. My weekly ranking used to be around 12000 and today it is 26000. Total images are around 4300.

Since the past two weeks, everything seems to be getting rejected.

For me, it takes 10 days to get payment.

Most of these accounts with stolen work are probably operated by SS staff themselves, that's why they don't act on it. SS creates fake contributor accounts with different names and fills them up with stolen material and reaps huge profit from it. Even if 1 account is closed after repeated complaining, 10 more show up in its place,it is a big game.

Adobe Stock / Re: Out of office (for a month)

Dear Mat, will it be possible for Adobe stock to consider accepting editorial images (with visible people) from contributors ? Around 80% of my port is editorial but I cannot upload anything here. Any updates regarding this issue would be helpful.

I feel most buyers do not care about contributors in general. Also, other agencies are also keeping a close watch on this, if SS wins they will also follow suit and lower royalties. In worst case scenario the low earning agencies like Dreamstime, Alamy, 123RF  etc will become the next Unsplash or Pixabay.

I closed my port with them way back in 2017, but many people still contribute to them for 2 cents, yet at the same time they complain about 10 cents from Shutterstock. What a hypocrisy !
#12
I wish they would start accepting editorials and go on a global expansion mode to give SS a run for their money.

I believe this is your portfolio https://www.shutterstock.com/g/tomgriger?page=100&measurement=px&sort=popular&safe=true&search_source=base_gallery&language=en. You have way too many similar images. In fact, it should be considered spam, simply mass producing images won't increase sales.
#14
The way they are accepting spam and crap, I don't think it will return to normal
#15
Very good design, although a bit slow
#16
Maybe that's why sales are down, we are simply not getting paid for our sales.

I was on the road to having a good month, but from this week sales have fallen from the cliff. Looks like it will be below average.
#18
I have a theory which says Shutterstock themselves are producing these spam images and populating their search. I don't think any sane person will do these kind of stuff.
#19
I feel they are trying to become the next facebook or instagram or whatever I don't know. Its just a matter of time when they will drop the entire review process and reduce royalties like istock.

Alright, let me explain it for you. I have a portfolio of more than 4000 images, average sales are between 10 - 15 per day. So, whenever I had a large SOD or an EL or a high number of subs in a single day, next day onwards my sales have gone down to 2 or 3 subs per day and it stays like that for few days before coming to normal. This has happened each and every time. So, I don't this can be a coincidence.
#21
Every time I had bigger sales, next day onwards sales have drastically declined. I believe, they are controlling our revenues.
#22
I say every contributor should combine and put this agency out of its misery otherwise a day will come when every agency will follow suit and none of us will make anything.

What I see is best selling and latest uploads in place of popular and new.

Same here I wish SS would quit messing around with the site

I believe they started these experiments around mid January and haven't stopped till now. Since then, my sales have been in the toilet.
