Adobe Stock / Adobe not accepting Easy Release?
November 20, 2024, 14:19
Took some model-released portraits with a few new people -- uploaded the releases to Adobe Stock and they keep getting rejected. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I've been using Easy Release with all the agencies for years - in fact, all of my model-released images with AS have easy releases. Is this something new? I've looked over my releases and there is nothing wrong with them.

Shutterstock has accepted some of these photos already.

Anyone else having issues?

A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. Take the money. I have a port of over 30,000 images and videos and I'm making very good money on AS. I nominate everything available and I never EVER notice a drop in sales.

Absolutely. But I don't submit too many of the same set in one go, as it can increase the chances of rejection.

Adobe Stock sales are amazing for me, they just keep getting better -- better than ever, to be frank. SS isn't too shabby and I'll get the larger $$ licenses there, not so much on AS. DepositPhotos is a huge surprise for me, as I sell a decent amount every month. And I'll never give up Dreamstime - for some reason, their customers like to by my images to use in printed books. I love seeing my work in print in major publications. I can pick up any newly released travel book for a destination I've been to and so far, without fail, is at least one of my photos in that book.

I do a little of this. I sell on Fine Art America and Redbubble, but I don't get many sales.

Happens to me all the time, just keep re-submitting it and eventually it'll get accepted. It's really annoying, especially because I know there is nothing wrong with the vid.

Mat...

Can you please chime in on this. It is now 7 8 pages of concern from several contributors and not a peep from Adobe. In the meantime I will cease to submit my work as it has become a complete waste of my time. These sudden rejections for quality issues en masse is nonsensical and confusing.

I will reach out on a limb and suggest I am not the only one who would like an explanation.

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing Mat hasn't seen this thread because I don't think he checks the general forum. If this thread was moved over to the Adobe Forum, he'd probably jump in....which would be nice

I'll typically submit about 20-30 photos and randomly, one photo from that batch gets reviewed instantly and is instantly rejected. It's always rejected and it's always rejected for "noise" (which I know is a bunch of BS). I'll go upload that photo again, and submit it, and again - instantly rejected. It's like SS has selected a random photo and has tagged it or something for instant review and thus, instant rejection. I try to keep submitting it (it's accepted everywhere else), even by changing the file name of the photo to no avail. Still instantly rejected. The rest of the photos in the batch take a normal time for review and it's nearly a 100% acceptance rate.

I'm pretty sure this is being done by AI. Anyone know how to get out of this loop when a photo gets randomly selected like this?

Same problem. I am contributor for more than 10 years, with approval rate above 95% (main rejections regarding intellectual property). Today I've got a 100% rejection on a set, quality issues. I don't think I've changed my editing style/skills in the past months/year and my images are all accepted on the all other big agencies.

Same here. I've been getting some ridiculous rejections in the past week from adobe when in the past, I have about a 95% acceptance rate like you. I would like to know what's going on and what, if anything, changed.

Love this time of year! Thanks for doing this again!

Yep, happened to me this morning. Nice surprise of $190!

Email came out, but can't see what video assets are eligible when I go into my account. Is it not live yet?

Shutterstock.com / Re: SS strict rejection policy
September 15, 2022, 20:55
Just wanted to see if anyone had any insight on this - there's a photo I recently submitted - let's say it's a photo of a flower. I submit it, along with about 30 other photos (mix of commercial and editorial). Only THIS photo gets reviewed immediately - and immediately gets swiftly rejected due to "noise" (uh huh....  ::) ) The other photos stay in the queue and are later reviewed.

I see the rejection and get irritated lol, so I re-submit the photo of the flower. Again, immediately rejected for noise. For kicks, I submit some more photos. Those photos sit in the queue as they should.

I try it a third time - again, immediately rejected.

Anyone know what's going on here? It's so weird. It's just this one particular photo.

I have never stopped uploading to Shutterstock and I don't understand people's reasoning for stopping.
Especially those that cut off their noses to spite their face and close their accounts and empty their ports.
Yep, SS has a lot of dime sales. That's for sure. Still, it's easy to upload, easy to maintain portfolios.
I can't understand people throwing away good money.
I upload, upload, upload to only a few other agencies because most are not worth the effort.
Shutterstock, Dreamstime, Adobe and Wirestock are my favorites. I run hot and cold on Wirestock but
hey, uploading is easy and they sell.
Everybody does things differently and if you don't agree with me, that's fine. Why should I care?
Some people find a niche in other agencies and that's great. Some jump from this to that to whatever
in the pursuit of sales. Great if that works for you.
But tossing free money never makes sense to me.

Wholeheartedly agree with this. Yes, the royalty $ cut sucked and I was disheartened after it happened and made me less motivated. It took me a month to 'get over it' and start uploading again. I'm not leaving money on the table. I like having my photos out there in the world, being used. Right now, one of my photos (of myself as the model) is on a billboard on a major, very busy US interstate. It's fun, I enjoy it, and the money isn't bad. June 2022 was my highest Shutterstock month ever, by far. I also still do get large $$$ (triple digit) photo downloads. And Adobe is kickin' butt for me right now.

I would've taken these photos anyway - the majority of my photos are from vacations I've taken. I don't take photos just for stock - but I have on occasion and I do it because I enjoy it.

I also "upload upload upload" (great motto, BTW!) I have a large portfolio nearing 20,000 photos, so that helps for sure. I'm not a wirestock person because I want to do it all myself and with a big portfolio, I jump through the % ranks at SS very quickly. Except for video - I could use their help as my video portfolio is under 1,000 (working on it though).

Absolutely I do. I think I get more than I did "before" but I also have a very large portfolio (closing in on 20k photos). Just had a $120 photo sale a few days ago and June 2022 was my highest month ever.

Thank you! If all mine are chosen (but I know they won't be based on last year's experience), I'd get a little over $7,000. My sales never suffered last year and I'm nominating all of them. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...

Not at all. So far, it's #3 in all time sales months.

Thanks! Gear post as always - really enjoy reading your perspective! Adobe stock is really kicking it into high gear for me lately, especially with allowing illustrative editorials. Though I wish they'd accept regular editorials, but it's a start.

You likely have a character in your description or title that isn't allowed. This happens to me when I have an apostrophe. Take the apostrophe out and resubmit and it should go through.

Very irritating, I know. I think Bigstock is definitely worth it - sure, it doesn't have the sales Shutterstock has, but I make payout every month, so I think it's worth it!
