Maybe they fired the reviewers - to make more money  ;D

The speed of reviews has improved lately - not taking very long.

Hello everyone. Canstock has not made my payment since last year. He promised to do it at the end of the year. But even though it was March, he did not make the payment. I'm wondering if anyone else is in this situation.

Haven't received mine either.

Sales have flipped. S/S used to be best and A/S second. Now A/S sales are what S/S used to be.

Hoping there's an announcement... last year's just expired :(

Me too. Fingers crossed.

Just one really really really great one a day!  :)

Terrible month. Half the previous month. :(

I disagree that business does not reward loyalty.

The whole point why companies make such a great effort to have a fantastic reputation and great relationships with both producers and customers is to keep their business at the absolute top in the industry.

Can you imagine Adobe having the same bad reputation as SS?? Never ever!

Can you image Adobe closing the producer forums and refusing to interact with their customers directly?

Because the producer community directs the customers. Many graphic designers recommend an agency to clients. If a company treats you badly, refuses to talk to you...why would anyone recommend them??

Companies invest crazy money into their branding and having a reliable reputation and a great way to communicate is worth equally as much as the products or services you are trying to sell.

Even more important if your business is about selling subscriptions. You want people to keep renewing forever.

SS  is a media company, their products are used for communication.

How can a communication company not know how to communicate and interact??

The upload flows by producers go to the companies that give them a reliable income, ideally an increasing income.

SS still has fantastic video, but if you look how the sales of video are dropping, especially for the fantastic exclusive content on pond5...what are they doing with these jewels they have?

Well said  :) :)

The greediness of their management has no limit. So here are the consequences...and when the numbers talk all the rest does not matter.

Yeah, you can only screw people over so long before it catches up with you. By people I mean contributors - who they actually need to look after otherwise we go somewhere better, like Adobe stock. I have zero loyalty now towards S/S. Karma is a biatch.

It's business and loyalty doesn't come into it. I don't expect SS (or Adobe for that matter) to be loyal to me and I'm certainly not loyal to them. I will continue to contribute to SS just so long as it's is in my interests. If the terms or circumstances change so that it is no longer in my interests then I will walk away.

You do you  :)

Dreamstime.com / Re: Dreamstime Website Seems Broken
« on: January 16, 2024, 14:32 »
Hello dear friends, after more than a year I just started uploading again to Dreamstime. I just submitted a handful of new images, they are accepted yet even after few hours they didn't showed up on my public portfolio. "Latest Uploads" page on my public profile there still shows the photos I've submitted few years back.

Does anyone having similar experience? Also my earnings there $30+ for almost a year. You guys think still worth a shot? I'm submitting - you guessed right - ai generated images to see if I can have some sales on DT too. I'm still thinking if it's waste of time or not.  :o

Yes, seems something is wrong. I uploaded yesterday and files are still in upload section. Tried again today, just go round in circles. So uploads not going through to review section.

Based on the pole results, SS seems to be a sinking ship....not exactly sure why...maybe all the 10 cent royalties?

Yes, I feel the same way. They keep going backwards. Maybe it is their greed?

I/S Great
A/S OK
S/S Terrible.
I've been with Shutterstock over 15 years. They were great but slowly felt like I was getting screwed over. Now...hmmm, pondering if there is any future with them.

Sounds like even more good content from experienced producers will be going near exclusively to Adobe.

They change nothing and keep winning.

Well said! They forget that Adobe is doing a better job of things than they are. If Adobe ever offers exclusivity then S/S will suffer for their disrespect.

Yes, they're going backwards in helping us.
Plus I'm having filing stopped at uploading for oversize (50MB) but my files are under 25MB.

I would advise you to stay away.  They were doing OK a decade ago, but I have not been able to paid for several years now.  Alfonso owes me several hundred dollars.  I'm not optimistic.

Uh oh, that is not good at all. A big red flag there. I assume that you have your tax information up to date?

Yes, I would advise staying well away from this place. I had dealings with them and wasn't good. I wouldn't trust Alfonso. Beware.

23
Thanks Duncan. Best of luck for your future.
