LOL  Yeah now that I've cooled off and did some designing...it's easy to FTP there, so I'll just keep pluggin away.  It sure is hard not to read between the lines though.  Hopefully they'll keep it.  I really like StockXpert.   ;D

With this recent news about screwing over StocXpert out of photos.com and Jupiter (I know the whole name and can't think of it lol), are you still going to upload there?  I know some were opted out.

I'm on the fence because it feels like a slow slide to them simply closing it.  At the same time, they could surprise me.  I'm still digesting all this.  No wonder my sales have tanked there.  They were really good while they lasted too.

If you enter your SV user name in the search box for Veer Marketplace the search will return all of your images that have been transferred from SV to Veer.

-Don

Thanks for the tip Don. Nothing shows up for me, must have got the wrong email. Thought it was too good to be true. But on the upside you win a blue heart whatsit.

You might just be there  ;)  I don't show up either when I type in my user name, but when I use a keyword combination of mine that usually works to bring up stuff where I know mine will be there..my stuff comes us.  Play with some searches.

Crestock.com / Crestock Email Addresses?
« on: May 26, 2009, 07:54 »
Is there something other than their stupid help desk I could email in maybe fair better and getting a response?  I'd read people emailed to get their accounts closed.

Where do I email to?

Apparently they haven't changed, or learned from your experience Lizard.  They haven't paid me and it's been well over two weeks.  Emails and forum posts go unanswered.  And mine is just a paypal payment, not even moneybookers.

I swear, if anyone is thinking of joining there..DO NOT.  My friend was uploading there and I told her about all this, and she stopped.  I will NEVER recommend that site again, not even to my worst enemy.  There is just no excuse for this.  The reply I did get about a week ago, they said my payment was still processing and they acted like they didn't know which way was up.  I asked when I could expect payment, and of course...crickets.  No reply back from them.

I'm so ticked I could spit.  *breaks into breathing exercise to cool off lol*

I love StockXpert.  I had to call them once for a issue regarding payment, and I got a live person that was sweet as pie, called me back when she said she was going to, and got it all straightened out.  I'm glad to see they are continuing the good and personable service.   :)

Password should be on the way now, I tried the forgot password and did see the problem and corrected it.     We had just moved to new web servers and simply missed adding our 'forgot password' email account (that sends out the password to you) to the new ones. Voila, instant confusion.

Thank You :)

I have no problems with log in but I doubt if it's worth to submit anything until site is fixed:
* Art Manager is still off
* I have no ideas what have happened with the few images I submitted several weeks ago - they disappeared from the pending list; they aren't shown in rejected but they can't be found via search. And I can't check via Art Manager either. So it seems they just disappeared :(

That's ok, I can't even get FTP to work LOL.  But at least I can get in now.

Zymmetrical.com / Can't log in...
« on: February 17, 2009, 00:15 »
Ok...I"ve moved twice since I last posted on these boards lol.  So, I've had to change my email to my stock sites, and I have a standard email box, not devoted to my internet provider.

I CANNOT log in to my account.  I contacted support, and they updated my email but told me they couldn't give me what my password was, and told me to use the 'forgot password?' button.  So I did, only every time I do, I get an error saying it cannot do that at this time.

I'm not even exactly sure what my login is LOL.  I was pretty sure, and still am, but with it not letting me log in...frustrating.

Is there anything I can do?  I know that's a stupid question, but I figured I'd put this on here in case somebody else may have login issues.

Just got mine too!  Thank you Peter.  The only reason I was so concerned, was that I requested it on a Saturday, so then the mind got to working and worrying over if there was a glitch, a problem with Paypal, or a possible problem with processing.  So I hunted down the number and called.  I will say, Peter, customer service is A++ excellent.  The lady I dealt with called me back as promised.  I was worried I would get the "Send support and email", and no one would deal with me.  I was very pleasently surpised!

** The email (support), spit back an automated, with the message that the person was on vacation lol.  The lady on the phone said that people were traveling...so "she" got it right lol.

 ;D

Ok...I dug around...found the number to call for JupiterImages.  I explained why I was calling and the lady was super nice, took my user name put me on hold.  When she came back, she confirmed someone was "out of the country" lol.  She's got my number and said she'd call back today or tomorrow.  I also mentioned I wasn't the only one with this issue.

SAME HERE!  I sent an email to support via StockXPert...used 'contributor payments' as the subject.  I got back that the guy that takes care of this issue is on "vacation".  I'm about ready to pull my hair out.

« on: June 04, 2008, 19:36 »
Well, I'm pleasantly surprised.  I gave it some thought and decided to put it to the test.  I'm used to manually uploading because I can't get StockXpert to take anything FTP.  So I did some uploading...and in the time it "used" to take one batch upload for me at Snap, I did three batches.  So, I'm rethinking this a bit.  I mean before, I could go start a load of laundry, and and do some folding lol.  Now, not so much.  Still a bit slow, but I'm willing to stick around.  I do hope they get FTP soon though..it would be a HUGE plus.

All this waiting and STILL no FTP???

What I got there is staying for now, but I'm not bothering to upload there anymore.  Such a disappointment.

Zymmetrical.com / Re: Pricing confusion?
« on: March 29, 2008, 00:09 »
I put my prices up at FP half March and as a "result", I got 3 sales since then.  ;D
Odd... I raised mine up to double what they were at FP and have had 2 sales since then as well... so I'm not sure that is a direct correlation...

Personally I'm trying to make more money with my images and am leaning toward the midstock sites to concentrate my efforts (although I must say that SS and IS are my top earners and no way am I going to stop what I'm doing there)... so I am going to favor higher prices on my own work. Perception of value is a critical concept here -- i am a graphic designer and my clients tend to be fine with spending $15-$30 for an image if they think its going to get them a better image -- people need to be shown and convinced that they need to pay a price for what we do since we aren't amateurs and there is a lot of skill, effort and overhead involved in this business.

Just MY 2 cents...

And your two cents nailed it on perception.  I'm 'used' to micro, and it dawned on me that I am dealing with 'midstock' here.  Don't mind me...just shifting my brains gears here lol

Thanks Flemish. I was rereading my post after reading your reply, and didn't mean to come off snarky lol.   I've been spring cleaning all day, and chewing on this issue, and I'm content to leave prices as they set them.  I think what is hard to get used to is that they are just a different animal, in both the way they process uploads to pricing.  Now if they only had a pesky 'reset prices' button LOL  I know, I know...it's beta  ;D  But I agree with the sentiments in the email I have and am content to just be patient and watch.

Zymmetrical.com / Pricing confusion?
« on: March 28, 2008, 18:02 »
I just got this in my inbox at Zymmetrical..

Hi,

I just noticed you have been changing (lowering) prices as I bring them online. I don't know if you saw, but you had a sale for this file earlier for $5.  I look at at it now and the price is down to $2.

I know you may be used to other agencies and have the feeling our prices are set to high, but I would strongly advise waiting a bit before bringing everything down to the $2 - $3 mark. For example, we had two other raster graphic sales today, one for $11 and for $8.

As we are in Beta, there is at present very little spent on marketing and promotions at this point - however I guarantee after 4 years of experience running Flyerstarter.com that people will pay more than $2 for graphics (to that end, maybe you'd like to make some Flyer designs for submission there?).

Perception of value is very important to our marketplace, and while you're absolutely free to bring prices down to rock bottom, I just thought I'd shoot you this note - especially as our Art Manager is barbaric at this point and very slow to change files prices/tags (new version will be online soon).

Thanks,
Keith Tuomi
Director
Flyerstarter Services Ltd.

**********

The "$2" that I apparently lowered my pricing to...that is what I am assuming is the price for the 'small' size.  Am I correct?  I "was" going to price my port at Zymm, about the way that I do at Featurepics.  I was pricing at $5, and apparently someone likes it because I made a sale and have $3.50 in my account now.

So now I am confused and wanted advice on what others are pricing.  The perception of value kinda threw me.  I'm there to make sales.  So is that implication more towards leave our pricing structure alone?  I thought the part of the advantage of Zymm was that you could set your own pricing...rock bottom or not??

I won't change prices or rock the boat.

Thank you.

Zymmetrical.com / Re: If I only have one approved...
« on: March 07, 2008, 10:08 »
Does that mean I'm in, as accepted??  I mean I have my account and all, and one did get approved.  I have like 55 in wait.
Well things like that can happen. There is no software that I know of that let you look at your shots on your disk in a synoptic table with title/description/keywords before upload. The Vista explorer lets you do it but only for title and with add-ons also description and keywords - but it's all in 1 row.

What I advise you is to upload all to FeaturePics only first, which is very fast, and where you can then crawl thru your shots one by one and scrutinize the actual IPTC info like it was accepted. Correct typos and even gross mistakes in the IPTC on your disk then. Then erase the shots on FP and reupload, and reupload to anybody else after that.

There are many sites that put restrictions on title/descr/keywds changes even in pre-acceptance mode as the title for instance is part of the url. Better be sure before you upload to Zymmetrical and the like.

Well with my new work, that's easy.  But when plundering through my stash that I have created over the past few years, it gets hairy lol.  I've been using Irfanview and double check before uploads, and correcting any errors.  It's just different, and different isn't bad.  It doesn't help that I got an impatient streak in me lol

« on: March 07, 2008, 03:38 »
Hi,

We do not 'approve' people we approve art.  So yes one file means you are live on the site.

There is no 20 keyword limit. We read the first 40 IPTC keywords, and edit them as necessary.     There is no way to speed the process along as we are working as fast humanly possible for reviews.  When we run out of people, we employ more, however things must be done in balance. This helps ensure long-term profitability.

Thanks,
Keith Tuomi

Thank you Keith.  That is a relief, in that I am willing to be patient, as you are in Beta.  My latest frustration is trying to upload HTTP graphics lol.  They never show up, and the page just sits and spins with no bar showing progress of upload.  I think I will just FTP them from here on.

The bigger relief is I don't have to rekeyword lol   ;D

Also, can someone please tell me if it is possible to edit or delete a file that is in wait?  I have realized my keywording error, in that I had over 20 keywords.  I'd like to try and speed the review process along, if my keywording is holding it up.

Thank you  8)

« on: March 05, 2008, 20:00 »
After doing quite a bit of looking around on the site, and then clicking 'edit tags' on my one image, I realized you could only have 20 keywords.  I have a substantial amount in waiting at the moment, but I just submitted a batch with 20 or under keywords.  Can you delete those in waiting???  I know there are filters and stuff, but if I can delete what I got, I'd love to reupload with edited keys under the 20 limit.

My frustration is that when uploading, you can't even edit those images in waiting, or as Flemish pointed out, see if they uploaded with all data intact.  I love the site.  It's just gonna take me some getting used to.

It is that long since I uploaded there I cannot remember the process. I have submissions from 24th December still waiting to be approved, so don't hold your breath after you figure it out.
My plan was to see what they like, then to upload suitable pictures from my port. With over 1000 pictures to upload, and a wait of over two months for approval, I think I will be giving them a miss in the future.

I have to agree with this, since I uploaded sometime ago, and most are in pending and only one has been approved.  Frustrating, but it's beta lol

Zymmetrical.com / Questions on Uploads...
« on: March 05, 2008, 11:26 »
I can't find much on the Zymmetrical forums, so I thought I'd post here...I did there, and nobody answered me lol.

I FTP my work.  For those that FTP there, is it normal to wait for your stuff to be moved from your FTP folder to submissions?  Do you continue uploading batches as normal, even with your folder full??

I twitch with this, I'm sorry lol.  I don't like not being able to immediately (as in the span of an hour or so) being able to see my work and EDIT it.  A lot  of my work is older, have some outdated keys.  I'm in the process of editing my entire collection, but I like being able to double check and correct anything such as misspellings.

It just seems like an entirely different anmial over there.  I'm hoping someone will share their experiences, and or tips?  I love the set up.  it's really clean, and it IS something I can get used to.  I think my biggest hangup is wanted to EDIT lmao, and not being able to until it's approved and in the art manager.

Thanks in advance for anyone who responds.  8)

I made enough for a pay out through paypal.  I clicked on the request earnings button, and went through the steps.  Is that all I need to do?  It states that they need requests in writing, but if they want an email, they don't give an address to email and tell them.  I hope my request went through lol.  I kinda could use that money  ;D
