DepositPhotos / Re: Exciting News from Deposit Photos
« on: February 05, 2024, 17:55 »
The change I noticed is that they absolutely will not accept AI images, and will close your account if you sneak any in.

The clause that Me thinks is about using our images for AI training looks more like protecting themselves.  If someone thinks their Depositphotos images have been used that way, they can't sue Depositphotos.  I don't think they intend to do it themselves, but are concerned by some of the lawsuits they have seen lately.

They also lowered the payout from $50 to $25 or was that just a special bonus for me? :)

Mine still says $50 and I am on $48 waiting impatiently to get to the $50 and then I am closing it.

Google your photographer name and you might find some of your images. My name is rare in google, so that works well for me, however, it might be hard to find some of your images if you have a common name..
Luckily Merrillie is rare too, quite easy to find where some of mine are used once I get past the stock sites and Flickr.

Congratulations am absolutely amazed - on the funny side if that was me I would probably have to pay the hospital bill with it after I had a heart attack from shock haha!

Not very many high sales for me this year on Shutterstock, the best was a photo for 37.50 back in January, with a few more enhanced photos ranging from $9 to $17.56.
Up to the end of Sept, I have a total of 715 sales for the year for $402. I have nearly doubled that amount on Adobe and iStock is a little behind Shutterstock.
I also have Dreamstime, DepositPhotos, Alamy and Pond5 but they are even further behind.

Photo Capturing the sunrise from Woy Woy Waterfront on the Central Coast, NSW, Australia. created by Merrillie

Must use link and attribute.
Is that yours? I'm wondering if any contributors images are ending up in the free section or if they all go to the "premium" (using the term loosely) section.

Yes it is mine and many others are mine, none with diamonds. I am also not suppose to be in the RSM program so chasing it up.

They responded in a timely manner.

"Thank you very much for your email and question.

You are correct since VistaCreate and Depositphotos are the parts of one company, the Cimpress group. The images uploaded to Depositphotos that are present at VistaCreate at the same time are the ones that participate in the Revenue Share Model (RSM) program of Depositphotos. Its possible only if a customer provided his agreement to join the RSM program - which was received via email; weve implemented the appropriate emailing about a year ago.

Indeed, a contributor gets paid if their files are licensed at VistaCreate (via its subscription plans), within the named RSM program. Let me kindly remind you that the earnings under this program are based on the revenue share method, with 40% for contributors and 60% withheld by Depositphotos.

With this, I see that, at the moment, your files are not supposed to be included in an RSM program and, thus, cant be shown and sold at VistaCreate - as back then, youve sent a request to exclude your portfolio from the RSM program. However, if you see any of your images at VistaCreate, please let me know so I can check them out.

I hope to have been helpful and wish you a good day."

I have only just noticed my photos appearing in VistaCreate previously known as Crello and after a bit of searching discovered they were now part of the same company as Depositphotos.

I have sent Depositphotos an email asking:

I have noticed my photos in VistaCreate and after some searching have discovered they are part of the parent company along with Depositphotos.

Are we being paid for any images used in VistaCreate and how much?

If you could get back to me with an answer please that would be great.

I notice is has:
Free for use in the editor and download.

Free for personal and commercial purposes with attribution. More info

Attribution after download is required. How to attribute

ps VistaCreate is based in the Ukraine

Yes I realise it is not 10 cents if you go exclusive but as I won't be going exclusive I will no longer upload any videos to them because I am not willing to accept 10 cents for video sales.

The only thing that email did was convince me to stop uploading videos to iStock. I am not going exclusive and 10 cents is ridiculous.
Kinda suicidal to go exclusive in 2022, they will chase all non exclusive contributors away. The cost to produce video is just too expensive to be paid cents.

Its not 10c, its $10.00, and its their MINIMUM selling price. Contributors will receive between 25% to 45% commission depending on how many they sell. And its not for just any videos. You have to be eligible for their video Signature collection, which are top quality, highly sought -after footage. And of course, are willing to go exclusive.

10c is the minimum for contributors who do not take up this offer.

I am not saying that its a good deal, nor that the price is fair for top videos, or going exclusive is a good thing - I just want to clarify the pricing. But it looks like they are aiming at the P5 exclusives market who may now be worried about SS's acquisition. And especially now that SS often pays extremely low for some top quality 4k footage.

And I tend to agree with Cobalt above, because at the very least, they are acknowledging that they need to pay more to attract good footage.

Yes I think it is pretty cool to discover your photos and videos. I love  seeing where mine end up. As I have an unusual first name I usually just google that or some of the Metadata in my photos.

Adobe Stock / Re: This year CC Bonus codes program?
« on: March 28, 2022, 03:49 »
Me too, I hope so and I really appreciate it. Thanks very much Adobe :-)

I have made 100 sales this month on Shutterstock but have also had nearly all photos rejected for the same stupid reasons and yes the other sites accepted them. This has been going on for some time now but every now and then I get a whole batch accepted.
I refuse to resubmit to Shutterstock we get paid peanuts as it is, why waste the time, energy and data. One day I will probably not even bother to submit to them at all.

13
Very appreciative of the bonus code, my experience with Adobe Stock as a contributor has been far better than other sites.

Shutterstock.com / Re: SS working for anyone?
« on: December 07, 2021, 19:07 »
I can't submit photos at the moment, they upload then don't appear.

I have had 5 emails in the past few weeks from 2 different people at Vecteezy, I looked at their payment structures and will give it a miss.
My photos from shutterstock appear on there when I did a search so they are affiliated with them and Shutterstock pay bad enough except that I do sell enough on there to get monthly payments.

I have had a few "Added to 5 collections" in the past week or two after not getting any of those notifications for quite some time.
