"Sorry you are having a problem with this.

Unfortunately, review times are currently around 7-10 days, which is unusually long. Shutterstock will be working to clear the backlog as quickly as possible and our images should be reviewed shortly.

Apologies for the current delay and thank you for your patience in this matter."

They make changes that no one asks for and makes the uploading/managing experience worse.

We complain complain complain complain complain complain complain complain complain.

The code writers giggle at our displeasure and pat themselves on the back for creating a need for their existence.

Rinse and repeat.

"We wanted to follow up and let you know the monthly royalty payment issue we experienced has been resolved. Any Payoneer and Paypal payments due were released by us on October 27. Please note that some remittance advice emails for Payoneer payments will not be sent for this month, but this will not have affected any payments due."

« on: October 25, 2023, 08:08 »
"A temporary technical issue with our payment platform may delay royalty payments this month. We are working diligently to ensure that payments are made as close to the end of the month as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

"To make sure you continue having the most secure experience possible on Bigstock, were regularly monitoring our site and the Internet to keep your account information safe. We have detected some suspicious activity and as a precaution have reset the password to your account."

They also added a link, but I am hesitant to click.

Will this be a recurring payment (once/twice yearly)? Or only when a new data set is required for learning?

Thanks

There's a video on Twitter talking about how Disney wants to scan background workers and pay them for one day's work with the rights to use that scan in perpetuity.

I hope (not keeping my fingers crossed) that, somehow, the benefits of their strike will trickle down to stock photographers.

Bigstock.com / eMail from SS through Bigstock...
« on: June 20, 2023, 15:14 »
The landscape of creative opportunity is continuing to evolve, and technology is playing an even more instrumental role. We recognize that Bigstock has not enjoyed many of the platform advances we have introduced in recent years on Shutterstock and were making changes to address that. Here are the changes and opportunities that will soon be coming your way:
Shutterstock will soon begin to make modifications to Bigstocks front end and back end technologies in an attempt to stabilize, and hopefully revitalize, the site. This renovation will be disruptive to certain parts of our current workflow and so we have decided to temporarily suspend new content submissions on Bigstock as of June 30th, 2023. During this time, you will still be able to access your Bigstock contributor account and will continue to accrue earnings for licenses completed on your current catalog. Additionally, you will continue to have the ability to request payment on accrued earnings at any time.

Our Contributors are a vital part of our ecosystem and for those of you who are not already a part of our Shutterstock community, we would encourage you to start a portfolio on Shutterstock.com so you can access greater opportunity as a content creator and reach our growing global customer base. This support article will further explain how this will impact your contributor account.

We are introducing the Contributor Fund as a way to compensate Bigstock contributors for your data's role in training computer vision models. Generative AI is an exciting technology that has quickly become a big part of the discourse on creative production. Shutterstock is partnering with the premier AI companies in the world that are building responsibly sourced AI generative content models. One of the ways Shutterstock supports the advancement of AI technology is by supplying customers with content known as datasets on which they can train their models while the artists who produce this content are compensated you can learn more about it here.

We have also put together this Bigstock FAQ to explain how datasets and the Contributor Fund apply to your Bigstock account, including the ability to opt-out from future data deals. As innovation of this ground-breaking technology continues, were excited to see Bigstock play an even larger part.

Thank you as always for being a valued part of our contributor community. If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to contact our support team by sending an email to [email protected].

Look at reply #4 :)

For 10 years, I too have used "Circa," but absent an explanation from SS, I'll have to try what their requirements say. I don't really care if there has been a change, but a forewarning or notice would be nice :)

GREAT NEWS! YOU HAVE MONEY IN YOUR ACCOUNT!

EDIT WITH CHAT W/DP:

Me: Is the income described in addition to the revenue that I get now or does it replace what I get now?

DP: Yes, the Revenue Share Special Program was launched to increase our contributors' sales. It is just an additional source of income and clients for you.

All your files being sold by regular subscriptions or On-Demand downloads will still be paid for in accordance with our general terms https://depositphotos.com/seller-price.html

Me: Under subscription, I currently receive $0.XX per download - that stays the same?

DP: Yes. All your files being sold by regular Subscriptions or On-Demand downloads will still be paid for in accordance with our general terms

Me: Where does the additional income come from?

DP: It's a special plan we offer to some of our customers. The program introduces your whole portfolio to them.

Me: I see. How do the customers qualify?

DP: It's the special plan our sales department offers to some of our customers. Unfortunately, I can not answer the question regarding the qualification system

Contributors who participate in the Revenue Share Special Program share 40% of net subscription revenue. Royalties are prorated among Contributors according to the proportion of their files in individual subscribers downloads, with increased earnings for those at higher Contributor Levels.

Royalties for files downloaded under the Program are awarded in aggregate at the end of each subscription period (month).

Also, you can opt-out anytime. Just let us know if you decide to and we will be glad to help you out.

Me: Ok, so to recap, nothing is changing with respect to the per subscription rate I currently get?

DP: Correct. All your files sold by regular Subscriptions or On-Demand downloads will still be paid for per our general terms. The Revenue Share Special Program is just an additional source of income for you.

From eMail:

Congratulations on becoming a member of our Special Program for contributors!

From now on, in addition to your regular income from selling files on our platform, youll receive 40% of net revenue for files downloaded under a Depositphotos subscription. Your royalties will be awarded in aggregate at the end of each month.

If a photo or vector image is purchased with any of our Subscription Plans, your royalty rate is fixed and depends solely upon your Contributor's Level.

Contributors who participate in the Revenue Share Special Program will share 40% of net subscription revenue. Royalties are prorated among Contributors according to the proportion of their files in individual subscribers downloads, with increased earnings for those at higher Contributors Levels. Royalties for files downloaded under the Program are awarded in aggregate at the end of each month.

Dreamstime.com / Re: New submission form

I sent a cranky eMail - here's the reply:

90% of the uploads to Dreamstime are Commercial RF so it makes sense to have that as the default; you simply click on Editorial if the image is Editorial.  When in Unfinished Files, simply turn off Autofill keywords and no keywords will be added from the title and description of the image.

« on: February 14, 2023, 09:23 »
My number one complaint is that the text in the description transfers to the keywords and number two was that it defaults to RF. Before, if I had a batch of editorials, I could click the correct button and it would stay where I want until I change it. I don't have time to go through the keywords AND make sure their AI clicks the correct categories.

Awful. Yet another change for the sake of pissing off contributors.
