General Stock Discussion / Re: Pond5 AE Template Invite
« on: November 22, 2015, 05:11 »
Hi, I can only answer for the AE templates because I personally handle and review them. I'm sure the video curators are doing their best to review the video submissions and in behalf of the company I'm really sorry for any inconvenience to you and to all other contributors.

"Pond5 grants Licensee a non-exclusive worldwide perpetual right to use, display, modify, publish and create Works for Distribution incorporating Licensed Content in any and all media an unlimited number of times."

Very broad terms...  creates a reason to set prices on the high side.
Thanks, I was tempted to sign up, but that basically means you are giving away copyright. They can alter the image and give it away for free to 7 billion people.

As a stand-alone sentence it may seems like very vague language however if you read the entire license (http://www.pond5.com/legal/license), you will see quite a few 3) Restrictions on Use. To avoid misconception as you describe above, there is the (d.) paragraph of Restrictions of Use. Giving away copyright is certainly not the case. Artist always retains the copyright and has the right to take media file offline at any time, without a notice.

Thanks for dropping by and adding your thoughts, it's great to see an agency active in the forums.

Do Pond5 have any intention of adding an Extended License option, to allow for some of the restrictions at any point? Also, perhaps setting a usage limit (e.g.: 250,000 like most of the other agencies) would bring the agreement into line with the rest of the industry a little more.

Thanks again for your input.

Pond5 is thinking of adding an extended license however it is not in our project dev queue within next half a year.

had anyone worked out how to apply a template to many images at once. Apply video template doesn't work (file xxx is a sound clip error). When I make a sound template it gives me 'this is not a sound clip error'  ;)
Applying the template individually to files in the edit window works fine.

Apologies, but we don't have templates worked out for images just yet. It is something we are actively working on right now. The workaround is to use CSVs: http://help.pond5.com/customer/portal/articles/625381

HELP!  How does one go about attaching a MR to a photo when uploading?  I can't seem to find a way to upload a release or atach it.  Also, how do we make an image EDITORIAL?

Thanks for your help!!!

Roadrunner, please check the How do I Upload and Attach a Model or Property Release? knowledge base article at the url http://help.pond5.com/customer/portal/articles/295751. It has screenshots for visual reference.

Curator will make the image editorial. So just attach a quick note to the curator writing that a specific image is intended for editorial use.

How are you guys managing to add 2 model releases to photos. For me it always only accepts the first release i add :/

Dantheman, that should not be happening. Could you please describe the browser's behavior or any errors you get and send it in a short e-mail to our customer service at [email protected]. We would like to resolve this. It's already a long process to tag your files, it shouldn't be more complicated than the necessary steps.

Pond5 is the best video site, if they can sell pictures the same way as footages, it could be a good alternative from all other microstock sites. Anyway i don't understand why they sell 123Rf pictures, that so different from their price politic !!!!

Smithore - Thank you very much for the support.  We love that our artists are so loyal, and hope our platform is a start (at least since 2006) to something even bigger -- and better.  123RF is a great partner, and we hope other artists from their side benefit from our thriving marketplace.  As an FYI, we just hit 800,000+ video clips, which we believe is a testament to the diverse talents of our artists.

Hi luissantos84 - sorry for the delay here but we just started our official kick-off as a daily participant on behalf of the MSG community yesterday.  Did you end up getting this sorted out?

Feel free to send [email protected] an email.  We are also on Twitter @pond5 as well as FB in the event you would like to know us more before trying the marketplace out.

Traveler1116 - Thanks on behalf of Pond5.  We always appreciate our friends willing to suggest helpful advice.  If you email me at [email protected], I would be happy to give you a $25 coupon (to the extent you need any stock media content).

Thanks for confirming Pond 5.  Hope your new initiative to get images directly is successful.

Are there currently any other Pond5 partner programs?

Currently we have no other partner programs other than 123RF.  Let me know if you have any other questions, Sadstock.

FYI - MSG just added a forum for us.  So if you are ever curious about what the team is up to, feel free to check us out here: http://www.microstockgroup.com/pond5/

Pond5 / Pond5 / MSG Community - Ideas & Suggestions
« on: September 26, 2011, 12:58 »
To the MSG Community, the team at Pond5 wanted to say a simple hello and let everyone know that we will be participating in any forums where our input (specifics with regard to our marketplace) might be deemed helpful.  Hope this provides more transparency into our side of the world...

If you have any questions/suggestions, feel free to shoot me a personal message or email our customer service team at [email protected] / tweet us @pond5.

For now, if you would like to keep this an open thread, we would love to ask the following questions and see what comes of them:
- What low maintenance changes would you make to the stock media marketplace (or more specifically, to our site)?
- What big ideas, if executed properly, would spur the growth of the microstock industry?
- How can we (at Pond5) better serve the artist community (incl. those that provide stock footage and are involved in the world of music production and 3D)?

Thanks again, and we look forward to being a part of this great community.  Cheers.

Dreamframer, we are glad that you have been doing well on audio sales.  I know this thread is outdated but consider this the beginning of a commitment to be a more direct participant in MSG forums going forward.  Click-Click, our assumption is that your sales are a combination of both 123RF and Pond5, with a natural weighting towards the former.  We certainly wish your sales metrics showed you partner site originations but that is unfortunately beyond the scope of what we can do as of current.

As some of you already know, we are working to build out our own photo/images collection by welcoming any interested artists to upload to our marketplace but this remains a current project.  So we certainly appreciate the patience of those who have been diligently asking questions throughout the past months.

Any other questions/suggestions can be directed to me.  Shoot me a personal message, and I will be happy to take the conversation offline.  Or email them to our customer service team at [email protected] or tweet us @pond5.  Thanks again.

Just to confirm cidepix's assumption.  The team at Pond5 is working together with 123RF, but as artists of 123RF, certainly let us know if there are any qualms if any of your content is additionally sold through our site.  As some of you already know, we are working to build out our own photo/images collection by welcoming any interested artists to upload to our marketplace.  We are currently working on this so we certainly appreciate the patience of those who have been diligently asking questions throughout the past months.
