My sales are dying also, not to mention the views. My new uploads don't have any views unless I log out and view it myself. But the number of views doesn't help improve my placement in the search engine because the number of forced views just equals the current views. The views is driving me crazy!

Actually I didn't get much sales in July either. My sales picked up in the latter part of August and I have been getting sales almost every day now whereas before, it was just probably once a week! This is a big big improvement for me.

Whatever tweak they did! It works so congrats to us Peter! ahahha

I love your illustrations! I'm sure you're going to do well. Just make sure you upload new stuff always especially in SS. That is the key there. As for making a living.. it depends on where you live but it usually takes a while. But if you are passionate about what you do, then it's better for this to be just part time income and then just re-evaluate if the money per month is already high enough. Don't just submit to SS, submit to IS also as pauloresende said. Pay is definitely better there. Just depends on how much downloads you can get.

Thank God it doesn't work like that anymore...I finally started to sell there

I dont agree, I put a lot of time in past to sort my keywords, and optimize search chances, but now all that work is wasted.

But anyway, sales are OK, so I dont complain. They seems to change search engine rules every few months.

Fotolia, PLEASE DO NOT make any more changes to search engine! This setup (from 1st september 2008) works very well! :)

Surprisingly I am also doing well this September. I stopped putting lots of keywords in Fotolio since when some people thought that having less than 10 keywords would give you a better position. I guess that strategy now works for September! Haha! I'm not complaining!

Yes, I might just turn off the EL sale thingy first since I just crossed the $50 payout mark.

Adobe Stock / Fotolia EL Sales
« on: August 29, 2008, 05:01 »
I just had 3 EL sales by the same person today. But I am at the bottom rank so I just got 3 $6.6... if it were at another site, then it would have been 4 times the price! Arrgghhh! Not really sure if I am happy about it...

Do you guys often get EL sales at Fotolia when you were just starting out and hence EL sales are cheaper?

7
I went to the site and I am just at the lowest ranks and the EL price that can be set is 10 - 20 only. It's set at 20 and 33% of that is 6.6.... so that's it then huh?

8
And fotolia gives one of the higher returns (especially if you are a higher level contributor) on their extended licenses, so it isn't so bad.

Umm.. just had an EL sale in Fotolia and I only got 6.6 for that... too low compared to the $28 in SS... or is the 6.6 a different kind of EL?

if you write a message to support they can change your Extended license pricing for all your photos to  the amount you want.  I have mine always set at the max amount.

Geez! I had two of those 6.6! That hurts! Okay.. I'll write to them.. thanks! Glad I said it.. or else I wouldn't have known..

My StockXpert are way down this month. Do you guys have no views as well on your recent uploads, looks like a lot of people have this problem at the moment..
L

Sales are way way down for me in StockXpert... it started in late July for me. Although I don't have 0 views... it's just very low, usually it climbs up fast.

Do you submit there? How is your sales? How much do you earn per month?

I have had a great start in August and even had one on demand sale yesterday for 2.48. I also just reached the $500 mark and I'm now getting 0.33 per download. And with higher numbers this august.. that was really nice. The high downloads was probably a result of a change in upload style. I am now uploading JPEGs as well as vectors and I spread it out throughout the week so every time there are images/vectors approved, I upload a new set on the same day. Probably helped the downloads.

17
I would have uploaded files if they have a lower minimum payout.. Their credit system is also low and most of the images which would generally be a 10 credit in IS is only 1 credit in Vectorstock.. so hmm.. guess not worth it right now. Thanks!

Illustration - General / Anyone who sells at vectorstock?
« on: July 29, 2008, 01:49 »
Is there anyone here who sells at Vectorstock? I just want to know if sales are ok or if it is worth uploading to? The payout is $100 and at $0.25 per download (usually 1 credit files).. that kind of takes a long time unless the volume is as much as SS... any thoughts?

How big is your portfolio and what is your average sales per day?

Haha I won't spend two hours of my time posting in IS forums or any other forums for that matter. I do it when I have nothing to do in the office and the boss is not looking over my shoulder. I do the forum thing if I have to sit in the office till 6p.m. with nothing to do. Just to kill time =)

« on: July 17, 2008, 00:23 »
I was wondering if anyone believes in the theory that if you are active in istock forums, you will have increased sales. I actually noticed that this is somewhat true when I started chatting in forums... but recently I stopped and downloads were also down. Of course I don't believe that it's 100% true, but still, i will chat more in forums in hopes that this actually works =)

I can't access the submit portion also, hopefully we all get unexpected high DL for that down period! Haha!

Thanks for this! I will be working on adding my stuff there. Thanks!
