Shutterstock.com / Re: SS September sales down 50%
« on: September 22, 2016, 15:03 »
September is normal for me. It's not a lack of customers, its that you do or don't have what they want. Simple as that.

6
Buyer and contributor sites are back down again. What a joke that a company as large as this does not have a backup site. In todays internet world you need a backup plan and a diaster site. You cant afford to loose customers.

7
As long as the buyers side is up, and sales are simply not being reported for now, it's okay. If this is costing us sales, however...

Buyers side was down also from 3:30 AM EDST

8
Main Shutterstock page is now an error page. No pages at all contributer or buyer seem to be responding. DNS? Hacking?

iStockPhoto.com / Subs have started

Got one january sub on the 28th. Hopefully more will come soon.

14 RC sales for me so far, normal January for me.

Quote from: ShadySue
I'm more interested in whether people are getting regular credit sales at anything like 'normal for this time of year' levels.
I don't really know what "normal" is with subs in place. Suffice to say that credit sales are down, and seem to have been replaced by subs sales. The subs sales make about 25% of the money that credit sales do. Subs sales look about equal in number to credit sales for November.
Sorry, what I meant, but said clumsily, was: 'are people's iS credit sales for January anything like what they were for previous years?'
Mine are not.
I have exactly four credit sales in January - which would have been a poor weekday before, even in early Jan. So the fact that my Dec subs are above any other month only shows that subs have undercut our regular sales - my Dec $$ total, including subs, is still miles below any other Dec since 2007. No surprise there.

« on: November 19, 2014, 13:58 »
First, my mail from SS onlly has one email address and that is mine, second where do you see anything about cheap videos. The link leads to the screen to purchase IMAGE subscriptions and says nothing about video subscriptions. Third in the US it is not against any law to have multiple addresses in the to list, it is only not shown as a matter of privacy for all the email goes to.

Not a big earner for me but this year is up good over 2013, and 2013 was much better than 2012

iStockPhoto.com / IS moving content to Site in China
« on: June 05, 2014, 18:39 »
Chinese Market Now Accessible to iStock via Fotomore.com
There is no doubt that the potential for images sales in China is immense, but until now, there was no outlet available to us for selling iStock content in China. A new partnership with long-time Getty Images Master Delegate in China, Visual China Group (VCG) changes that.
iStock exclusive and non-exclusive content is now being made available through Fotomore.com. Fotomore royalties will be paid monthly through Getty Images, appearing in your stats under the Partner Program royalty category for content that is available on Thinkstock and GI sales royalty category for other iStock content. Royalties will be calculated based on the royalty rate schedule for GI sales. You can view the rate schedule here.

Looks like all Getty and IS content is being offered by this site.

Not sure how scarce photos of this vulture are but they seem common on some nature sites

Best month of the year. Not as great overall growth as 2013 vs 2012, but so far Jan 13 to May 13 vs Jan 14 to May 14 is up 26%

Alamy.com / Re: Alamy 6th? Surely this is a joke..
« on: May 01, 2014, 12:25 »
I guess its what you sell images you sell.

Alamy is my 2nd best with an average of 8 sales a month average sale nets around $75.00. Wait for payment is about 45 days. I love that stock agency.

I can't see how anything will change. Will SS buyers migrate to BigStock? I doubt it.

Who said anything about buyers migrating from ss?
How about NEW buyers coming from the advertising and promotion from SS?
SS is putting up the cash!

Why must nearly everyone think negative about nearly every site ever mentioned on this forum?

-Larry

No but with the current "TEST" at SS of shutting off OD sales availability and sending customers to BigStock we could see  customers forced to BigStock to buy one ups and a few images.. Time will tell but this is not a good sign for SS submitters.
