Update by Achilles from DT forum:

Quote
Here are the levels as they are to be launched soon:
Non exclusive images:
level 1: 40%
level 2: 42.5%
level 3: 45%
level 4: 47.5%
level 5: 50%

Exclusive images from non exclusive contributors (+15%):
level 1: 46%
level 2: 48.88%
level 3: 51.75%
level 4: 54.63%
level 5: 57.5%

Exclusive contributors: no change, as announced.
SR-EL recommended prices: change as announced.

Subscriptions are updated as announced in the first post:
level 1: 1 download
level 2: 1 downloads
level 3: 2 downloads
level 4: 2 downloads
level 5: 3 downloads

These will consume the subscription's downloads as above (+royalties) but will not accelerate higher levels. There is significant difference in quality for a level 2 image compared to level 5.

On our next price update, the additional format will cost double the price of a regular subscription download:
level 1: 2 downloads, level 2: 4 downloads, level 3: 4 downloads, level 4: 6 downloads, level 5: 6 downloads
This is a significant price update and can't be included at this stage, due to its impact on buyers.

BME's for last three months and doing well this month so far too.

You need to keep uploading and have a larger portfolio size to see more regular downloads, esp. as the number of contributors and online images increase daily in lightning speed.  And as pixart has pointed out, keywording is important.

Just got one too. Looks like for downloads that took place back in August:

"Due to reasons which are beyond our control, we are sorry to let you know that $2.88 have been removed from your earnings as a result of a refund. File IDs: 5450016, 5450032 - reason: fraud. Thank you for your patience and understanding"

CS4 Camera RAW 5.1 - 52 seconds
Wow that's impressive!   :P

Any new feature that is useful for stock?

Canon / Re: my test: EOS 50D vs EOS 400D
« on: October 26, 2008, 10:38 »
Hi. Tnx fot the link.

Today I love my camera! Somehow image quality is very good in real time tests on the field, and with a little touch of noise ninja plugin in PS, it is marvelous! :D I just love it!

Is the image quality difference big enough to justify the upgrade costs from 400D?

wonder if there will be additional discounts from store clearances during boxing week.....

I got an e-mail from PayPal last week that said something about adding more countries - "Just click here to find out more".  I never clicked, part of me thought it was a spoof to capture my info (and I don't need any more countries :) ).  I think it was likely a legit e-mail from PayPal though, so maybe check their site yourself again.

I got the same email too.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Noise Problem
« on: October 02, 2008, 08:28 »
I also have Neat Image, but using proper lighting, DSLR and prime lens reduces the needs of using it.  Make sure you only apply the minimal level of noise reduction on the area that really needs it and sharpen the area a bit afterward as some details would be lost during the noise reduction process.

Photo Critique / Re: Are these good stock photo's?

Looks good... is the last one a bit over-saturated or over-exposed (red) though?  Can't tell for sure at this size...

« on: October 01, 2008, 17:38 »
Donated one of my images on DT yesterday (kk it was a rejected image) and it has got 78 downloads so far.   Not sure if it really helps my sales or portfolio exposure (got an email saying it might help the latter) but got 3 sales which were not resulted from searches ("n/a" for keywords on "My earnings" page)....   ;D

My image which is an image of my trophy cup sitting in my basement and has been online since June:

Found this image which is an illustration on DT:

Is the second image a theft or copyright violation?  Should I contact support?

It's growing worse and worse everyday:

Maybe soon the topic needs to be changed to "What is a rotten economy doing...." instead of "What will...."

Dreamstime.com / Re: DT: Extra Large, Alternative?
« on: September 26, 2008, 21:02 »
That's probably for an alternative format (bmp, eps, gif, psd, png, tga, tiff, wmf) converted by DT from your jpeg file and was a new feature introduced in this August.  See Achilles's original post:

http://www.dreamstime.com/thread_10231

+1 credit for alternative format...

According to the comparison tests on www.the-digital-picture.com, the 24-70 lens does seem to have better IQ than the 24-105.  The price difference between the two (when not purchased as part of a 5D or 5Dmk2 kit) is only $100 here.  It's really hard to decide whether it's better to get the lighter 24-105 with extra 35mm and IS or better IQ with the 24-70 and f/2.8....

19
I have EOS 400D and 28-135mm IS (and 50 f/1.8 which I uses a lot for isolated objects).  I've been considering the 24-105 IS as an upgrade, for better outdoor images etc.

Is the consensus that it's not worth the money to upgrade to 24-105 for stock images??

Based on your profile pic, looks like you can afford more weight loss....  :P
