Crestock.com / Re: Crestock Rejects?
« on: November 28, 2008, 15:45 »
I feel very rejected by Crestock. I was an inspector for them for a year or more and now when I post on their forums, my posts are deleted. I am quite upset about it. I was not giving away any key secrets or "disclose details of personal employment with Crestock on a public forum" as stated. All I said is I wish I was inspecting still for Crestock as it was a good job to have. They let me go and I never got a reason why. Afterward I emailed several times asking why and got no response to why. My post can not be deleted on this site by them or many of the other microstock forums. I guess I am not welcome to post on Crestock forums without good reason. Not to mention my images that I uploaded are just dissapearing during their reviewing. They are not in my rejection folder or in my portfolio. I am sure this is just a coincidence that I am uploading and they are dissapearing.
After uploading, it shows they are pending then the same day I get a email saying they have been reviewed. Then they are simply NOT there.

Crestock.com / Re: sales getting better?

I do not understand why but on Crestock, my sales have always been very slow. I rarely make anything. I make sales on alot of other stock sites. I am not sure that I will upload anymore to their site. It takes too much time to upload to sites that seem not to ever sell your images.

I have noticed that the people that make the most are of course uploading all the time. The more you have up the more you will get exposure on each site and sell more.
It is all about the numbers and quality of your images.
Always be looking at what is the most popular images selling.

I agree resizing is the best way but I also in photoshop sometimes adjust the color, if I can darken something if it is green/black etc.. and it helps.
Sometimes I have used filters to soften the image (example of a sky) but then erased parts so it still appears sharp).

Newbie Discussion / Re: Image management

what I do is have all my images seperated in different folders in categories such as electronics, backgrounds, food, and so on. In my people file, I have all them seperated as I do alot of model shoots. I keep all my raws on DVDs and occassionally have to transfer my people files which are so many to DVD's and know all of them have been uploaded to my main Stock sites before transfering them. I have tried the external drive before and it froze and I lost everything. Always have a backup or you are screwed.
I never keep track of my rejects. I upload everything and whatever sites except it is just that. I never usually re-upload anything unless I felt they were at wrong for rejecting it and I always review it at 100% before I do to make sure there is nothing wrong with it.  I think it is a waste of time to keep track because all the stock sites except different pics. No rhyme or reason sometimes.

Here is an awesome newer photography magazine and they talk about micostock and many other things to do with photography. You can submit your own article and they will post it if you are interested in writing a review or article.
