General Stock Discussion / Re: gograph.com - stolen images?
« on: January 27, 2012, 20:21 »
Sorry I am chiming in when you are logging off.  I have to say that I think it's a shame that our names our not associated with the pictures.  If I wanted privacy then I never would have posted photos online in the first place.

If you had not posted here, I may not have ever figured out where these photos originally came from.  (Plus I accidentally stumbled onto this site and may have never known these were there.) And the lack of either having an account at gograph or being able to search for a photographer name makes it difficult to see how many of my shots are there.

I know that my name is with my photos at Canstock and I see names are with shots at fotosearch.  That reasoning of "privacy" just strikes me as odd.   But thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the info.  But why don't I see reference to my name with my photos?

What is a good next step? I haven't run into this before.  I found their support page and sent notes to remove the photos but not sure if that will help.  Not sure when shutterstock would actually step in either.

General Stock Discussion / gograph.com - stolen images?
« on: January 27, 2012, 18:38 »
I was wondering if any of you knew if www.gograph.com is an affiliate of one of the micro sites?  I found some images of mine there, and I think they got them from shutterstock.com.  I contacted shutterstock and they said that gograph was not an affiliate.  (Shutterstock told me to send the DMCA notice.)

I'm certain they are stolen.  I'm also wondering if they bought a certain size and then are reselling it.

Anyone know anything about this site?  You might also want to look for your pictures there too.

True microbius, and as a marginal I agree to a certain extent.

Having said that if there was a notice of this change and a reasonable amount of time to cross the threshold I would have no complaints.

I agree.  I think it's the lack of notice that makes me unhappy.  I guess this is a lesson to be learned tho for not submitting on a regular basis.

Looks like the select few were given this notice?  Oh well... I'm not a super seller for 123rf but I have been loyal.  Guess I did not make the cut.  Not much incentive to add more photos now.  How unfortunate because I've always liked them and I think there recent marketing efforts on facebook have been really good for business.

Congrats Warren!

Someone must be doing a book on deer because one of my shots sold for the same amount.  I thought it was a mistake at first but the $$ is still there.  :)

General - Top Sites / Re: Use of Photoshop plug-ins?
« on: November 09, 2008, 22:09 »
I am the author of ( http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-2180741-abstract-background-of-holiday-lights.html) There was no plug-in used in that photo. It's a blurred focus of christmas tree lights with a few stamps of little stars. That's all...

I probably used the wrong word in choosing "plug-in" because I could not find a good way to describe it.  Thanks for posting some info about it.  It's a beautiful photo!

I was doing a search on this topic because I saw a bokeh photo with starbursts and wanted to know how to do it lol.   (never thought to search for "plug-in" duh!)

Anyway - do all sites accept this combination of photos and plug-ins?  I saw this photo on shutterstock today

 http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-2180741-abstract-background-of-holiday-lights.html

and that is what got me thinking about this.

I just wanted to say that I found this software because of the site and it's perfect for someone like me.  I need a nice system to keep organized and it really helps.  I have the free version right now but someday I will upgrade.  I know right now you all are going back and forth on some stuff, but I'm glad the info was posted here.
