Yes, the amount of thieves on etsy is insane. Not helped by dozens of youtube videos telling people how to steal work from Canva and make SVG vectors to sell on Etsy, and saying legally its fine.

A lot of these thieves have also learned how to file file a counter notice and Etsy will keep selling  their work even after you DMCA it.

Gah. I've alerted our legal team to those videos, we have got these taken done by the past but they keep popping up :(

If you have a few examples of sellers filing improper counter-notices to your content, please send evidence to danny+copyright [at] canva and I would like to follow up with our contacts at Etsy

If you don't mind I'd love to hear the response here when/if you get one.
Sure, as soon as I get a reply I will let you know :)
I just got a reply from the customer support:

[Translated with  deepL.com]
I have been informed that the program is still in the development stage. Therefore, it is not yet active with customers.
The achieved sales from this program, as well as the status of the participant of this program, will also be seen later in the account. We will inform you additionally as soon as we know more.

Good to know, you can see the status and the sales of the program in your account settings, as soon as it is online.

Thank you very much for sharing your response. For some reason for this month I can see on the Stats page a 1 in the revenue share row at the bottom, and a small amount in there as well. Maybe testing? Not sure.

Does anyone know when revenue from the Revenue Share program should start appearing?
I just contacted the support about that question and I am waiting for the answer now :)

If you don't mind I'd love to hear the response here when/if you get one.

Yeah, sorry about that. Please use the web uploader.

Can we use the web uploader with vectors though Danny?

I thought the web uploader couldn't recognise meta data from jpgs along with eps' files.

Can you clarify?

Yeah it's been there for about a month now. I find it super weird, and just a terrible idea from SS. As if they aren't monetising contributors enough already!

General Stock Discussion / Re: Envato Author Identification

Has anyone gotten an email from envato for an "Author Identification" check?
When I log into my envato account, I don't see anything about it and am afraid to click on the link from my email and don't want my account paused. They only gave me 4 days to do it and it will take 5 days for envato to respond to my concern.

Yeah it's legit (just check it comes from verify.envato.com) and each author will need to do it at some point

Hey does anyone know a support email address for FAA?

I've been locked out of the site for a week or so now, and the reset password link never sends me an email (yep, checked junk). Have filled out their support form online, but no reply.

Really need an email address to write to them if anyone has one?

Thanks

I had both those issues with 2 sites I use and eventually I paid someone to sort it out.

Guess what?  It was Kaspersky (antivirus software) causing the problems.  The guy said that it causes a lot of issues like this. (The issues weren't there originally but occurred after an update from K).

I can now log into the one website and was able to receive the email from the other site in order to reset my password.

These problems disappeared as soon as Kaspersky was removed.

Hey thank you for the suggestion.

Unfortunately I don't run Kaspersky (or any other AV software for that matter) but kinda wishing I did and that this was the fix!

Still no reply from them, using that email and also trying their (ancient) twitter account.

Thank you both, I appreciate your time helping.

I tried that form already Uncle Pete, no reply in about a week or more so no idea if one will come eventually or not.

I'll try that email address Jo Ann, thanks to you both.

I never received the email, so I appreciate seeing this posted here.

I had to reset my password on my last login and wondered what had caused it.

Thanks Jo Ann.

I guess what threw my a little with this topic is there used to be a rank listed in your contributor account on Adobe Stock, right at the bottom, but it disappeared some time ago.

Mat - is there an easy way to see our 'rank' now?

No, my apologies for the confusion. It was a mistake to reference "Bronze." It's still an internal reference for this particular access point to submit Illustrative Editorial but for this post I should have simply stated that contributors with a lifetime download count of 100 or above are now qualified to submit illustrative editorial.

That said, if you go to the dashboard section of the contributor portal, click the 'Time Frame' dropdown menu in the upper left corner and select 'Lifetime,' you will see the accumulative total of downloads from your account.

The old rank system used to be the following...

0-99: White Rank
100-999: Bronze Rank
1,000-9,999: Silver Rank
10,000-24,999: Gold Rank
25,000-99,999: Emerald Rank
100,000-249,999: Sapphire Rank
250,000-999,999: Ruby Rank
1,000,000 +: Diamond Rank

I may be forgetting something, but beyond this access trigger for Illustrative Editorial, those ranks are obsolete now. There are 3 primary unnamed ranks that impact contributors.

0-999 downloads result in a minimum subscription royalty of .33
1,000-9,999 downloads result in a minimum subscription royalty of .36
10,000+ downloads result in a minimum subscriptin royalty of .38

Let me know if you have any other questions,

Mat

Ah I see, ok thanks for explaining, and Firn too.

There's still ranks??

Sort of...they really only impact the minimum payment rate on large subscriptions now, and we've condensed them to three primary tiers but the ranks still apply within our system so it's the easiest way for me to explain the criteria.

I'll re-word it here...Once you reach 100 sales in your account, you will be eligible to submit Illustrative Editorial content at Adobe Stock.

-Mat

Interesting, thanks for explaining. Can you link to where the rank influences the minimum payment on the large subs please?

Thanks Mat, appreciate you always communicating well around here.

Just received an update from Peter following my reply:

Quote
Hey Colin,

It turns out I was a bit too worried about the financials of the business, and communicated prematurely. Im a developer and this is not my strong suit. The bottom line is that everyone will be able to request their earnings starting Oct 17. Until then its business as usual ($50+ payouts).

I apologize for the confusion, and if you have any questions feel free to email me at any time.

Best regards,
Peter

Good news after all! To be honest, I didn't expect an update after my reply, but it's confirmed: it turns out everyone WILL be able to request their earnings after Oct 17.

I got a similar statement after talking directly with Peter. Good news.

One additional wrinkle in this story.  I just sent SF the following message:

I attempted to request payment of royalties on my account.  You now require a Certificate of Residency.  As a US resident, the cost of such a certificate is $85, which coincidentally is the amount of money owed to me.  Additionally, processing of the certificate and mailing it will likely take longer than you plan to be in business.  Is there any less onerous way to demonstrate my citizenship/residency that will satisfy your requirements?

Thank you for your attention.

Since they added this requirement some time back, I've successfully processed numerous payments by providing an invoice. It's an alternative to the residence certificate and is accepted. You just need to add these details:

TO: Stockfresh.com Kft. Medve utca 24, Budapest 1027 Hungary
EU VAT No.: HU23009701

Hope that helps.

Bigstock.com / Re: Bigstock Bullsh*t Earnings
« on: September 24, 2020, 16:04 »
I don't normally leave a site just because sales are slow (looking at you Canstock and Dreamstime), but I've been planning to leave Bigstock as soon as I get my next payout.  I don't trust the security of my images there because they are owned by Shutterstock. *ptui*

Sales have slowed down so much though, that I may leave without the payout.  It's taking too long, and I imagine Shutterstock looking at Bigstock for their next weird experiments.

I finally pulled the plug on Bigstock last week and closed my entire account. I was below the payment threshold, and after contacting support a couple of times I got someone helpful who immediately closed my account and scheduled my payment to go out with Octobers payments (I received a payment email from Bigstock to confirm this is the case).

So seems you don't have to wait for a payout if you want to leave.

I received the same email this morning.

It's very disappointing that an agency with an emphasis of being fair to the contributors has decided to take this path. Even if money is tight, offering a percentage (as bankrupt companies do) would be better than nothing.

I completely understand that the normal course of business imposes a wait for $50 before payment, but when they decide to wind up the business - effectively removing the option for contributors of waiting for the next payout - I think the only right course of action is to pay contributors any balance.

An ignominious end for the creators of StockXpert...

Well that is a surprising response and a disappointing one for sure from Stockfresh. Had expected better from them.

I am at 47$ and they will not pay me and will hold my money?
Or am I missing something?

They say they will make a payout in the last paragraph.

I wrote to support to clarify. In the last paragraph, they don't explicitly say that they'll make payout under $50, although that's what I think is likely. I'll post an answer here.

Peter has always been good to deal with, I would imagine he will pay out for sure, but I agree, the wording was a little vague. Interested to see the response you get.

Nice feature, but as long as Lightroom puts all my keywords back into alphabetical order, there's no way I'll be using LR AFTER keywording ...

Agreed, that's why I only ever use Bridge for keywording.
