General Stock Discussion / Re: DT Headed South
« on: May 17, 2012, 11:49 »
I have only recently joined shutterstock as I had to get my i.d. sorted, so only been with them about 3 weeks. I had my application approved with all ten illustrations accepted, which I didn't expect at all and since then practically all illustrations I have submitted have been accepted, apart from, maybe, one or two. Ive also had 2 sales so far, and yet dreamstime have rejected many of these images that have been accepted by shutterstock, and all the other agencies I'm with, fotolia etc. Ive also had no sales on there for several weeks!

Hi, I am just about to submit first ten raster illustrations to shutterstock for approval, but when I try to choose categories for them there is no option for illustrations/clip art. There is the option to select yes or no for illustrations/clip art but nothing in the first or second categories. Can anyone help? thanks, jacqui.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Dreamstime rejections

I have recently started doing illustrations and have had pretty much all of them accepted on the other stock sites, but dreamstime has rejected most due to 'distorted pixels' and 'not saved at highest quality' I then re-submitted them having dealt with the problem, and the first two were accepted, the next five rejected for same reason, and yet, I did the same to all of them, so how can it be acceptable for the first two but not for the next five. I also had rejection for too simplistic, not enough elements in image, which was a boat on sea in sunset with birds etc (illustration) and yet I see on the homepage latest uploads include images with just one item in the middle of a white background, dont understand how to please them  :-[

oh right, so extended licences don't really change anything? just wanted to make sure that they didn't have to be exclusive or anything like that.  :)

hi everyone, not sure about this.  :-\ bit worried about this extended licenses. does this mean you sell the right or does it have to be exclusive, anything like that? just read through one of my other sites and it said for their extended licences you sell the rights and cant show/sell it anywhere else etc. so i am a bit worried about it. as far as i understand it doesn't look like its the same thing on StockXpert but just want to make sure, dont want to get into any trouble.  ???
