Here are the facts.

A newly published government report states that not only is there no proof of any secret effort by the U.S. government to cooperate with aliens or research alien technology, there is no proof that UFO sightings are the result of extraterrestrial visitations to Earth. The Report on the Historical Record of U.S. Government Involvement with Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), written by the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, denies all claims regarding the U.S. government and UFOs, stating that they are the result of decreased public trust in government, the prevalence of UFOs in public culture, and unnecessary government secrecy.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock steals sales. Control purchase
« on: February 13, 2024, 16:52 »
It's a third-party information, so probably I will not be able to provide further details. But it comes from a trusted contributor, experienced, with a pretty old portfolio.

At the end of October, we decided to make a control purchase on the Shutterstock, collaborated with colleagues and bought a package of 25 Standard one-time demands. Purchases were made of works that had never been sold, with the help of a real customer within a spread of 10 days.
Divided it like this: 5 purchases from my accounts, 11 purchases from colleagues accounts, 9 purchases randomly.
Of my five - 1 appeared on the first day, 1 - after a couple of days, and another one after 4 days
The result as of February 1 is the total number of sales for all interested parties - 7

So, 70% of the sales via one-time demands package are lost! What do you think about this?

If any of this is true, you need to take the evidence to the state attorney general of New York. Then get representation and file a class action suit on our behalf, all of us can collect back earnings after an audit.

« on: February 09, 2024, 08:00 »

The thieves make money because they skim off better content. We all know that, as a general rule, 20% of the images make 80% of the money, but if they are selecting the best images, then they can certainly increase the sales percentage in their favour. It's always been quality over quantity, so if you steal 50 spectacular images, then they are likely to make more than a beginner with 50 snapshots of his back yard.

Valid points. I remember on the old SS forum, a thief was discovered and quite a few of us contributors were browsing through his port of stolen goods. The images selected were extremely high quality. Like the best of the best with all different kinds of subjects. It was quite a decent sized port too if I recall correctly. I wouldn't be surprised if this thief was making a ton of money.

The names look fake, and many people use a + in their name. Wack A Mole.

While Mick West is still defending his balloon theory for the Jellyfish footage Dave Falch has stepped in to give his analysis.

Conclusion: Black DARPA craft undergoing testing and footage leaked.

https://youtu.be/S9qbB23BuhI?feature=shared

He does however explain what it's unlikely to be. Spoiler: No balloon animals

When you post stupid videos and allegations like this, you make yourself look like a fool. Giant jellyfish UFO. Looks like a deflated weather balloon, drifting in the wind. Stick to serious questions like Dod, disclosure and the oversite committee, not foolish sci-fi click bait.

Shutterstock.com / SS just screwed up the site again
« on: December 14, 2023, 10:25 »
They rolled out improvements that disable editing function. You can't copy keywords anymore. Catalog manager is replaced by some terrible Marketplace Editor. We lose ways to work and they roll out new versions that no one needs or asks for. Don't be surprised next time you try to upload or edit. There is a tab for now to use legacy, we don't know how long that will stay. There's also a comment tab on top. Try the new and tell them what you think.

the limit for AI content already exists,we just don't know what it is,and I think it's better to know for many reasons.

in the contributor terms:

"We dont permit multiple account creations to submit similar or identical content to inflate sales,or to bypass upload limits for generative AI content".

as you can see,if this rule exists,it means that there is already a limit for AI content.

if it is not possible to know this limit ok,but I think it is better for everyone to know it.

They had the same rules before AI, most agencies, including those that don't take AI, have the same rules, one account allowed. Upload limits are real, your theory that there are acceptance limits is just your guess.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe AI content double standards
« on: November 12, 2023, 10:42 »
Yes, it seems that Adobe started those AI generated "vectors" removal.

Unfortunately....they do it just for files which are reported by contributors.
There is still HUGE acceptance rate for those fraudulent AI generated files.

Another reason to know the limit of acceptable AI content for sale by Adobe per account.

knowing this limit, which already exists but no one knows what it is,I think is important.

in this case, for example, knowing the limit of AI content that Adobe can accept per account per month or year can be a deterrent for the creation of multiple accounts in order to circumvent these limits which are currently unknown.

but this is only one of many reasons, officially knowing the limit of AI content that Adobe can accept per account per month or per year is important.

Mat,I repeat my proposal in case you missed it in the other thread:is it possible to know what these limits are so that people know it,and act accordingly,in order to adapt to these limits?

Do we all agree that knowing is better than not knowing?
There is nothing that supports your idea that there's a acceptance limit on Adobe. The only support is your idea, reading between the lines, your personal translation, and coming up with a odd theory. There is an upload limit, but no invisible secret acceptance limit.

are you sure these aren't auto-traced vectors?

and please show some respect for those who are working, remember that Mat has rules to follow,he is working!

Auto traced vectors, and almost always in sets of four or less, similar images?  ;D  Did you look at them?

For those who haven't been following the collection sizes, Adobe Stock's genAI collection is almost at 23 million; Freepik's is over 30 million; Dreamstime's is a hair over 7 million.

Shutterstock's is such dreck it doesn't matter, but it's approaching 1.5 million

The "oops" images continue to be everywhere...

... The chinese and Russians do not have oversight like the US and or limits of morality built in from a young age. Frankly they just dont care about much. Safety, morality, money,  anything.

sounds like you're the one in an alternate universe if you believe the US is so different from R&C in these areas

Research has shown that repeating a claim increases that claims perceived truth value. The UFO propaganda machine is designed to tell the lies over and over and also discredit anything that doesn't agree with the propaganda version of the story. Anything that shows evidence that does follow the story line is vigorously attacked, but anything that follows the propaganda mission is accepted without questioning.

They claim to be searching for the truth but instead are ignoring the facts that would show their claims are vague fantasy science fiction.

I've never seen a UFO. Keep in mind that my cameras haven't either. My night timelapse cameras, usually one but sometimes two, have recorded nothing. There are people with 24/7 sky watching cameras looking for meteorites. There's a world network of those. No space ships. Astronomers around the world, watching day and night. No space ships.

They all use cloaking devices, so you cannot see them. The cloak is only dropped in the presence of a true believer.

If they show on radar but can't be seen, that's proof.
If they are visible but don't show on radar that's proof.
If you can see them and they are showing on radar that's proof.
And if they aren't there and weren't on the radar, it's because we don't believe in them... but they are still there.

All bases loaded.  ;D
Ahhhh
A radar return is evidence that an object caused a return. What that object is is open for discussion. But I'm not an expert in radar. However very luckily the Nimizt case had been going for 3 weeks. Was part of a fleet performing sea trials. Even had a sub in the area. They had been monitoring the radar returns and had been recording these craft travelling at impossible speeds. In some cases 20,000 mph. But because sea trial windows are very tight you cannot just .. pause ... orders come from fleet and usually you are coordinating a lot of air space, other shipping, recording facilities, crew leave, crew training needs ro take place and you have experienced inspectorate teams performing instruction and all to train ready to enter a operational theatre. So windows are exact. It was one of the Captains officers who said look these things are now entering air space regularly and the pilots are seeing them in instruments, radar has them, there's been a few near misses so we have multiple ship radar returns of craft performing impossible maneuvers and aircraft instruments across a variety of aircraft systems seeing them also. All data is conclusive we must treat this as a air safety issue. If we have a crash and don't know what it is we will be in serious problems.

At this point David Fravor is detailed off along with another crew ro investigate. After his report further pilots also chased them down leading to the Tic Tak video. After which another crews pilots filmed Go Fast and Gimble videos. All with on oard instrument logging the same and ship radar systems tallying.

This wasn't supposed to be released to the public. But it was. By I believed the then head of governmnent UAP task force Luis Elizondo. He'd had enough of the BS and had access to a variety of data both instrumental and visual and crew reports. And on ....  but it transpires that it was actually Christopher Karl Mellon, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence in the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations and later for Security and Information Operations.

But what I always love to ask Sceptics is this ... what would constitute enough proof for you. Because it will never be enough. So what is the point of you.

What would you consider proof that something wasn't a UFO or a mysterious event. Nothing explained is ever enough for you.  :)

My point was not one specific event, but the system of logic that believers use, which they first believe, then make a weak attempt to discover the truth and then declare as a real sighting. In every case, the radar is the proof, no matter what the results. Impossible to fair conclusion based on variable truth.

A number of people have suggested that real science and research involves, repeatable or reproducible evidence. There is also a requirement that theories and suppositions, have statistical study and involve peer review. That doesn't mean that "peers" will agree and there isn't politics involved or some healthy skepticism, but unlike UFOs and conspiracies, there's nearly no requirement of proof or evidence, and reports are released and published, without anyone even reviewing what is claimed, before it's distributed to the shared networks of advocates.

In the end, and my point is, radar evidence is a rubber bag that can be stretched into any shape needed to include how radar proves that the sighting was alien space craft technology, because nothing known could have done that. Instead of looking at how various situations could be weather, or errors or some other phenomena.

And yes I'm skeptical and I inquire and look for solid facts and confirmed evidence. I'm proud of that. Being called a skeptic is an honor.  8) Looking for the truth involves questioning the accepted mythology.

Not me but I agree with some of the things you state. The repeatable crap is .. but I'll deal with that later.
So what's important here is your claim about radar readings.

Please explain more and also can you please give your qualifications in radar operation specifically of that used on the Nimitz so that the explanation is in context and your skepticism has a solid foundation. Thanks in advance.

What are your qualifications as an air force pilot, the cameras used on navy jets or space travel. Just so I know you have the experience in context and education to know more about aliens and ufos and the secret government. Do you work for the CIA or FBI?

Watch out lowls you know what happened to JFK and rfk and the Marilyn Monroe for knowing too much. Art Bell didn't end his show because of anything but the facts that he knew too much and they silenced him.

Speaking of aliens.
NYC Spends $8 Million a Day to House Migrants as Influx Swells
The costs associated with the migrant crisis are ballooning beyond the citys ability to afford them, city officials have repeatedly warned. The cost of sheltering and caring for the migrant population will reach $4.3 billion by July 1 of next year, according to city estimates but the total cost could be much larger if recent immigration trends continue
Seems they found it's easy to be a sanctuary city in theory, but much different when it becomes the reality.

Spend your time learning something AI can't make.

But what would that be? Because if you put AI in an android body there is really absolutely no thing I can think of that an AI couldn't potentially do in the future.
Maybe programming AI? But how long before AI can do that too...?
And what once seemed like something  for the "far future", like out of si-fi-movie, now doesn't seem so far fetched with how fast AI is suddenly progressing.

 :-\

AI can't possibly bicker about AI as well as we do. So maybe that's what we all ought to be training to do. And possibly learn the art of doing nothing and meditating till the end of our lives.

The impact of AI on artists will depend on how it is developed and used, and how society perceives and values human-generated art compared to AI-generated art.

This makes me reluctant to invest time and money creating AI images:

No copyright protection for AI images, says US government

Says the copyright office. They are not the final or ultimate authority. Quoting a blog opinion is not a legal authority.

From my point of view i see a benefit being paid in USD.
Probably its just my opinion but i think inflation will get worse in Europe next years.
USD will do better. The 3% PayPal currency exchange rate is annoying but maybe it will be better to keep income in USD at PayPal.
Just if you don't need the microstock money every month at your Euro bank account.

If that really happens and $ becomes much stronger than , I could bet that AS won't keep 1 = 1 ratio for these currencies.

I get your point but its Unlikely theyre paying you a dollar so it doesnt cost them any more or less. Theyre saving by reducing red tape, staff and systems converting currency in house. Its the bank / payment system that takes on that job and takes a % cut by offering a slightly less favourable conversion rate.

It took 4 pages and there's the answer. Nothing but making bookkeeping easier. US company pays in US dollars.

Image Sleuth / Re: Thief with 35k portfolio (photos) at Freepik
« on: February 07, 2023, 07:39 »
They have replied pretty quick asking for usual details like publication date. Sent them  examples but where do you start. Its 1500 assets!

So can this be reported to police or anything? 2100 sales to this thief! I presume they just get away with it.

MOre importantlyu if so many are finding their images on Freepik can we ascertain how this is happening? How are they getting hold of our portfolios? One library has a security hole and they should be challenged on this

Good that people are paying attention, looking and trying to stop this.

Just a question, which I have no idea to the answer. How much did 2.11k Downloads pay this person?

I don't understand:

There is not a fixed price for the download of an image. This is how your earnings from downloads will be calculated:

In the PPD model, earnings calculation is based on the share of the net revenue obtained from Freepiks Premium subscribers.

This revenue is shared among contributors based on two concepts:

The contributors share will correspond to the 50% of the net revenue obtained from Premium subscribers who download content in an specific invoicing period divided by the number of downloads made by those subscribers during that period.
The calculation of every download remuneration will be adapted to every contributor, since the price per download will depend on the number of downloads made by the subscriber downloading the contributors image in a specific invoicing period.

The formula used by Freepik to calculate the remuneration of a single download in a monthly invoicing period will be as follows:

(Net Revenue from Subscriber X/ Downloads made by Subscriber X)* 50% revenue share=
one download remuneration

50% of what the premium subscribers pay. But if the downloads are free, then 2.15K downloads could be nothing?

How much do people actually get paid per credit in a normal situation?

Pennies and dimes

I use a T/S Nikkor 45mm for product photography. Food close-ups on a background. great for getting everything sharp in the plane of focus...great investment but then I get paid per commission and it's paid for itself 10X+.

Food and travel. What else would make me want to buy a special lens like a TS? How else is it useful.

Is that the older chap who also has a music label and had around 550575 posts on the old Shutterstock forum?

Was wondering his whereabouts too.
No he didn't own a music label. He made up half of what he claimed and the other half was half truths. True he posted over 50,000 good tips and advice replies on the SS help forum. He reviewed for Bigstock for a couple of years.

received for a video
How do you create such a display of statistics in your account? At the beginning, the amount, then the date, and it's all there. Or did you write the amount, date and make a screen yourself? This is how sales are not displayed in my account - the amount and the date next to it.
Make another screen where it will be clear that this is really a screenshot from the shutterstock account.
Yes, and I don't know of any such deductions now. For 4K? They would also provide a screenshot of the video.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe profits more than double in latest quarter
« on: November 14, 2022, 15:45 »
I am around 200th for the week with around 1000dls (don't want to be more specific or discuss portfolio size)

Why not?

Because I am anonymous on this forum and any more info would make me (even more) easily identifiable. If I was in position 10000 a few dls either way on a given week could radically change my position. I have already narrowed down who I am to a handful of people (to the agency).

I want to be able to critique agencies without fear of being banned (like happened to Sean and Jo Ann).

You aren't anonymous, Sean wasn't banned for posting on MSG or forums, Jo Ann wasn't banned for what she wrote here. I'd like to have her say how she got banned to believe that? Agencies don't have spies watching what we write here they don't care. The only regular reader is Mat who comes to help and inform. Tell the truth.

Calling ss racist rejections for same images uploaded to another account?
Well, Well, I don't know what to think anymore. Photographs that look great and are selling in other agencies and whose model release has been accepted without any problem, are rejected again and again in SS because supposedly the model release is not valid. I have already written my problem above. Nobody answers me anything other than, I can't have two accounts and I can't upload photos to two accounts. What a forum, so little help.

Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Because you accuse them of being racist and blacklisting you not asking about rejection reasons or why a model release is rejected. We can't help your anger. You're right the support is terrible and they don't answer, been that way for years. You can't have two accounts. What should we answer to that?
