Hi, in danger of stating the obvious, there is one thing that sometimes create confusion for our users. When logging onto ESP through qHero the field is case sensitive, which is not the case when logging onto ESP directly. That sometimes leads to users thinking they cannot login. If this doesn't help, I would suggest contacting iStock as there then must be a problem with your account.

Best, Kasper.

Hi there Grace and others,

qHero is not down, so I don't understand why you can't log in. If you don't mind emailing us at [email protected], we will get you sorted asap.

Keep safe out there.

ROYALTY STATEMENTS

The payment processing team has let us know that we will likely see a delay in the publishing of your royalty statements, which normally would have published by the end of today, Seattle time (PST).

We don't expect this to impact royalty payments which are still scheduled, as usual, for the 25th of the month.

I'll keep you posted!

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Keyword disambiguating on site gone?
« on: July 04, 2018, 03:00 »
Hi there,

Disambiguation is still necessary on iStock/Getty, but qHero continuously work on making this step as effortless for you as possible. Despite your reluctance I would certainly advise you to at least try out qHero as it will get you through the submitting process much faster at no cost and included is free backup of all your files submitted through qHero. Except for the faster submission process we offer statistics focused on what a photographer needs to know, to maximise revenue. Recently we also added Retouching as a build in service. You can simply order retouching and have it done in the background while you keyword your content. We currently have a campaign that offer the retouching at 50% using the promo 2018SUMMER.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Best,

Kasper, CEO qHero.

Hi There, you can view your individual sales stats on qHero among other great features such as uploading with AI supported keywording, free cloud-based backup, on-demand retouching. Once you have registered your account. If you are interested, you can read more in our recent newsletter covering statistics for iStock her http://mailchi.mp/qhero/big-news-from-qhero-878201.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: easiest way to disambiguate?
« on: May 16, 2017, 12:58 »
Hi All, I'm Kasper from qHero.

From what you guys are writing I would definitely swing by qHero, even if you already tried it. I'm surprised to hear that the disambiguation step has not been clear to all of you, but to get that out of the way - there are three steps: General, Releases, Terms. The last one is the disambiguation step, where you disambiguate your keywords into "iStock terms".

qHero semi-automates the disambiguation step, so after the auto-generated list of keywords, and attaching a model release, all you have to do is scroll through the list of terms in step three and the Yellow ones are not yet disambiguated. In a test I literally just did about 30% of the keywords were not auto disambiguated. This will get better and better, but qHero is still the fastest way to go - especially because you can disambiguate "in bulk" by choosing similar files.

Let us know what you think!

Best, Kasper

Thanks, I am a big fan of qHero. Now, I can't really read the content of the web pages on the video. It is too small and the contrast is not very good.
Hi there, have you tried viewing it in full screen?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Editorial images on ESP?
« on: February 14, 2017, 04:56 »
Okay, I got the image deleted by request (I left a note for the Getty team.) Now, Ive uploaded the same image again but I still can't work out how to mark it as editorial. If I click on the text on the top left of the screen that says: "Submission Batch: iStock Creative Image", nothing happens. Maybe iStock have become like Fotolia - no editorial submissions.

Hi there, have you tried qHero? All you have to do to submit editorials, is to choose "Editorial" when uploading to qHero. It is super easy, very intuitive, and with the aid of AI you will most likely see your workflow improved quite a lot. You can reach us on [email protected] and sign up at www.qhero.com.

Hi there Stefano, I'm glad to read that qHero works for you, but despite qHero being the only tool solving your problem, your are saying you don't like qHero? If you don't mind I would love to hear what it is that you dislike - maybe we could improve? Reach out at [email protected].

Best, Kasper.

Hi there, i see it a secont time and maybe i was wrong i start to like it, but now i have a problem... i changed the esp password. No more work qhero, i can make batch on qhero but it don't send to esp. I revert the password to the old one and still not work... there is not link in qhero for change esp account setting and i can't register again cause my mail is registered.
So what i have to do now? and again on google search no many page about qhero neither in forums, where can we get help?

Hi there, even though we sorted out Stefano's challenges through support, I thought I'd let everyone in here know, that for now you can all contact us through [email protected] or through the "Feedback" link in qHero. The ESP is challenged by a lot of initial bugs, and it is very understandable that some of you have questions. We are also working out video-guides, to give you a guided tour through the new qHero. Don't hesitate trying qHero before though - qHero is very intuitive and you'll be saving a lot of time with the AI finding and pre-selecting keywords for you based on image recognitioning, and disambiguating most of your keywords as well.

Best, Kasper.

Hello, I'm able to login using deepmeta3 since yesterday using the gettyimage credentials (that was the same of iStock) yesterday prepared 2 batchs of files but upload was always stop with different errors... Today i had try again and the first image was upload ok, the others files give me again sometimes "Error: A task was cancelled" or "Error: Cannot access a disposed object", tryed several times always the same, only the first file upload was OK.
Anyone with the same upload problem? I'm very sad.... and upset...

Had that problem with one file, I think my problem with that file, I changed the file name.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I renamed the file, i renamed the title, but everytime got the same error "A task was cancelled".
I uploaded the same file in esp omline and it went ok but after i have to edit again because all the filds are empty,  title keyword and description data.
Anyone with the same problem?

No, haven't had that problem. I re-upload the renamed file and all went perfect. Maybe try reinstall deepmeta3.

Disinstalled all versions, installed new insert new credential to login, login ok. Did a new batch with only 1 file uploaded and... same error.... "a task was cancelled". i opened a ticket on esp and wrote to deepmeta, i hope in a reply...
i try to upload 1 file from QHero and seems ok but i really don't like qhero...

I have not received yet the mail from esp but i can login both on the site and the deepmeta, really frustated....

We worked this out through qHero support, sorry I didn't see you comment in here though!

Hi there,

The option for editorial submissions should always be there under the image under your images when you are in "iStock Submission" mode. If you ever experience that it disappears, please take a screenshot and email it to me.

Thanks,

Kasper.

16
Unless I miss this functionality in qHero, it would be also nice to have a possibility to prepare editorial images for submission in batch mode. For instance, it could be very well a case where I have several photos with the same subject, location, date etc. So it would be nice to be able to CTRL-select several images and enter the editorial metadata just once instead of repetitive times.

Hi, this is not a bad idea and I can reveal to you that once the unification project of iStock and Getty is done, we will have a different setup for editorials much similar to our current for images. I hope you will stay tuned until the changes goes in effect.

Best, Kasper.

Hello Kasper,

For some reason nothing happens on Qhero when I press connect to istock to upload the pictures. I get redirected to Istock, I log in but than nothing happens. On the Qhero page it still says I need to connect to Istock. I tried login out of Qhero and relogging, using a different browser but the problem stays the same.

Is this a known problem?

Hi there, unfortunately iStock is experiencing problems with their API, which interferes with qHero's access. They have assured me they are on it, so it shouldn't take too long. Thanks for letting us know, and just a hint - next time I'm faster to reach through our feedback through qHero.

Best, Kasper.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Download your own files?
« on: September 14, 2016, 06:45 »
I am given to understand that qHero - a 3rd party iStock upload tool (I don't have a link handy but I'm sure you can find it) - keeps a copy of the files you upload, so in an emergency you could get them back.

Personally, though, I have privacy concerns about that and I prefer to keep my own backups;  but I can see that it's a good selling point.

Hi there, sorry for only seeing this now. We do give access to free cloud-based backup with high level security, so there is nothing to worry about. But to download lost files, they have to have been uploaded through qHero. This is obviously a very good reason to start using qHero today! I did a post a while back about research made on harddrives, and it is safe to say - they don't last and it's risky. Especially external harddrives.

If anyone has questions, feel free to ask them either in here or by email: [email protected].

All the best,

Kasper, CEO qHero.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Upload Method?
« on: July 25, 2016, 13:27 »
I personally prefer to upload directly, but I believe DM will come into its own if you send releases. There's also the QTOOLS this that Yuri brought out, but I haven't looked at it. I really don't have any problems uploading directly providing upload is working. Ha, but sometimes after doing all the keywording etc you get logged out when you try to complete the upload; which is just ridiculous and a real PITA.

Thanks for mentioning us, even though I name is qHero  :) You should try qHero out - the only risk is to get better narrative content, in less time while getting a free cloud-based backup of your files.

/Kasper.

Haven't looked at qHero yet, although I was meaning to sometime... but, you are keeping copies of our files?  What's that about?  I'm not sure I'd be happy with that.

Hi there,

Well, the reason isn't for us to keep the files, but for you to take advantage of our free cloud-based backup of all your files. My experience is that this is of very high value for photographers, and having seen photographers loose files we wanted to prevent that. Also, when you keyword your files in qHero you can download them again with the work you've invested imbedded in the IPTC data, which is enabled by storing the files in our cloud.

You should try it out, and read our privacy policy for any security concerns - I'm sure you will find that our terms reaches your standards and puts any concerns you might have to rest.

Hope to see you on our userlist soon!

/Kasper.

Curious what upload method you all use to submit to IS.  I use DeepMeta.  I think the only other method in via their website.  I find their upload process the most time consuming compared to the other agencies.  their keyword 'sub-selection'  is so annoying.  I wonder if its even necessary.  often times none of the sub-selections apply or i can't decide if they apply.  am i the only one that has this problem?

Hi there, sorry for the late response, but as the CEO of qHero I would definitely suggest for you to check our tool out. For your information we are officially endorsed by iStock and we can be found in the istock contributor community.

By applying artificial intelligence to automise your proces and ensure consistent narrative content, you will save time and at the same time get a better result by using qHero. The disambiguation process is probably the most time-consuming part of iStock uploading, but we have automised that as well. Best of all though, is that you can bulk edit multiple files at once.

qHero is free to use and your files are safely backed up in the cloud. If you want to download your work at a later stage, all the work invested in your portfolio with qHero will be embedded in your metadata - so nothing is lost! All you have to do is sign up at www.qhero.com

I hope you'll sign up, and if you have any questions just reach out to us at [email protected].

Best,

Kasper Ravlo.

Kasper thanks a lot for your reply.....other 2 questions:

1) Is there a way to ranking keywords? Let me say...I copy and paste keywords in random order in the box "input Keywords" after that am I able to change order of the keywords? I mean changing rank without cut and paste of the keywords in the editor mode but simply drag and drop

2) As far illustrations are concerned, can I upload directly eps file and jpeg file without zip them in one file?

Thanks

Hi there,

First of all - I'm so sorry for the VERY late reply - the notification was in my spamfilter :(

Firstly - keyword ranking. This is not necessary, and doesn't make any difference what so ever. Istock doesn't use the ranking for anything, and all it is, is a way for deepmeta to make sure the maximum 50 keywords you upload, is the 50 keywords you want to upload. There is a maximum limit of 50 keywords on iStock. That means spending time on ranking keywords, is just a waste of time.

Second - illustrations. All you have to do is upload your EPS file directly, and qHero will generate a thumbnail and extract all metadata. Simplicity!

Please let me know if there is more I can do to help you, and accept my apologies for only getting back to you now.

All the best,

Kasper.

23
Just a question.

Is there a way to ask qhero "Show me all files of my istock portfolio". I mean even images not uploaded through qhero but that are in my portfolio before qhero.com arrival.

Thanks

Hi there, thanks for the question. This function is not available and not supported by the API provided by iStock. Sorry for that, but our features are going to make your workflow a ton more efficient with AI supported, automated keywording, categories, and disambiguation. Give it a test and remember that all files submitted through qHero are backed up, free of charged, organised in custom made collection - what is not to love :)

Hope to see you on our list of users soon!

All the best,

Kasper.

Hi Kasper, We were one of the beta testers and things had been working out great with qhero. The ability to quickly copy and paste all info from one file to the next or to a batch speeds things up considerably. I do however have a huge issue with a recent batch, it involves 6 model releases and a property release. For some reason the releases are not being seen by the istock reviewers, particularly the property release. I'm on the 3rd try with this batch so a little frustrated. I'm wondering if this is browser related? I've been using Edge browser, but also tried internet explorer on the last try with no luck. Do you have a preferred browser? is anyone else having this issue with releases?

Hi, I'm very sorry to hear about the model release issue you are experiencing. We do know about this, and it is caused by problems with the iStock API not communicating accordingly. We are working hard on this issue and if you will send me your username (you can't send it in a Private Message or through our feedback tab in qhero.com if you prefer), then we will into your specific issue.

That is the best I can do for you right now, sorry for the bad experience :(

Kind Regards,

Kasper Ravlo.

I just noticed this in Kasper's signature line...

Kasper Ravlo
CEO, Qhero.com - Chairman, Arcurs Creative

Hi Cathy (and everyone else),

Yes, this is correct, and if you check my linkedin you will find that I have been in microstock since 2005, and I have been involved with Crestock in the early days of microstock, CEO of Yuri Arcurs Photography and CEO of Yuri Arcurs Productions. No secret in that.

My focus has always been on finding ways to give photographers time to do what they love. Since day one, when Yuri Arcurs Photography only consisted of Yuri Arcurs and myself, this has been my focus, and this is also what qHero.com is all about. The algorithms, workflow, and methodology put into qHero by our team, is based on this simple mission.

All the best,

Kasper Ravlo.
