And by the way, let us know how it goes with your IS exclusivity!

I assume that it will be okay - IS earns me 87% right now.

Newbie Discussion / Free money for you
« on: December 23, 2009, 02:32 »
good morning,

i am going exclusive with IS. So, closing my other accounts one by one.
I have 3 dollars left at StockXpert, converted them to 3 credits.
So I can buy 3 XS images.
As I don't need any images at all, please post a link to any image at your StockXpert portfolio and I'll buy it.

Please, 3 different people. And this is targeted to newbies, so If you have a large and successful portfolio, do not bother. 50 cents will not make a difference for you anyway.

123RF / Re: How do I get paid (at 123rf.com)
« on: December 16, 2009, 02:02 »
Why your "last" payment on 123?

Going exclusive. Almost every day I make on IS more than on 123rf in whole year.

Still strangely 123rf shows my full balance intact and note "No payment received to date" in earnings page. I have received my payment 3 days ago...
Is it happening for anybody else too?

I can reach site maybe for one or two hours in 24 hour period.
If using hidemyass.com or other VPN services I can access MSG for maybe 5 hours at random parts of the day in 24 hour period.

Two days ago I received my first (and last) 123rf payment. Weirdly, the amount was not deducted from my balance at the bottom of the earnings page. Is it normal or some kind of a bug?

Veer / Re: Setting up Veer
« on: August 01, 2009, 07:15 »
good afternoon,

a quick question: does 10 application images go straight to my portfolio when they are approved (like on SS) or they are just for application evaluation purposes and have to be submitted again for addition into database (like on IS)?

They are having trouble with the fact that I purchased most of the models I use in my 3D renders, instead of creating the models myself. I thought I could clear everything up when I proved to them that my use of the models was permitted under the vendor's license agreement, but as of yet they are not satisfied with this and my account remains frozen.

istockphoto does not allow to use 3d models that you purchased too

:-[ I just got emailed back and they are looking for vector artists. I don't feel up-to-par with my vector skills, so I mostly do raster.

Guess I'll just have to work on it over the summer and then try again.

You mean they are looking ONLY for vector artists? 3d illustrations do not count?

15
Ah, I see. That's cool then, though one thing is not clear for me:

why under the images, in the section "image tags", some keywords (or "tags") are clickable and lead to new results, while others are not?... :)

16
Jamie will bend over backwards to help out with anything and she even does the key wording, etc., I just upload and they take care of the rest.

Do you mean that they actually keyword submissions themselves, that is, contributors cannot choose their own keywords?...

17

It takes about 3 minute to download, print, put your address, sign it, scan and email back. NO HASSLE.

So it's possible to leave ITIN number blank in the form?

What do you think happens, if I add some keywords after the file is approved? I usually revisit my newly approved files when I have time to fine-tune my keywords. Do those newly added keywords (or some being removed or DA'ed differently, etc) have an impact on existing keywords? What do you think?

And do you think it is better to have smaller amount of keywords in order for them to have "more weight"? Or it doesn't matter on IS?

I'm applying again at FT today. Really hoping they'll accept my application then hoping they'll be as good to me as SS has ;)

Holding thumbs  ::)

Do you need to apply?  :o

General Stock Discussion / Re: Less keywords - more exposure?

No (at least on iStock).  Why would an inadequately keyworded image get more exposure?  Maybe your simpler images are actually better?

It might be so.

General Stock Discussion / Less keywords - more exposure?
« on: March 18, 2009, 05:03 »
Good morning,

After actively submitting to seven agencies for several months (been IS exclusive before), I noticed a strange pattern on almost all of them:
My files with 5-10 keywords usually get ten times more views than files with 30-40 keywords. Especially on DT and FT. Don't know about SS, cause they don't provide view counts, but still my best sellers there have a relatively small amount of keywords.

Do keywords have more weight if their number is small?
Any thoughts?

Thank you :)

Adobe Stock / Re: Pixelated previews
« on: February 26, 2009, 09:46 »
This is a problem on their end.

Some people say that it could be solved like this:

Let's say you create some funky swirl. Just add a white rectangle under it and preview becomes better.

Never tried though.

Thank you all for your answers :)

Good morning,

After using FileZilla for a while to upload images to several agencies, I am looking for a way to streamline upload process.

Biggest issue with FileZilla is that one has to manually connect to each FTP to upload files because program does not support upload queues. Therefore, I am looking for a new solution.

I am aware that there are great programs which support upload queues, like Core FTP and others for Windows OS.
Do you know anything similar for MAC?

Mac users, what do you personally use when uploading to multiple sites?
Thank you and have a nice day :)
