Haha, very funny. It will be rejected for bad focus, though.

Wow! Canva has just about caught up reviewing my entire portfolio, including submissions from late last week. 100 approved today alone.
Good job Canva!  :)

Yes, having completed the backlog we're now working through the files uploaded while we were reviewing the backlog.  We're going through contributor by contributor in the order of signup, so early adopters like yourself are already up to date.  Hopefully only another few weeks before we're up to date with everybody.  :)

Thanks Lee, any estimation of when will the pending cut-out files be on-line?

PicNiche Toolbar / Re: Picniche tool up creek?

A few days ago I updated Firefox to v36.0.1 Maybe it's related to the problem with PicNiche?

PFZ, are you running this Firefox version as well? Since when?

Just the opposite here! Since a few days ago it stopped adding reported sales to the current amount. Also, for some sites, the toolbar stopped showing the figures for some agencies. Just the logo with no amount...

You can just leave the money there and you will get paid every month if you ended the previous month with more than 100$

You have to go down the page and select "contact us". Then "create a support ticket" and select "payment request"

Thgank you ShadySue for the link. I missed that thread! I've just opted out (123RF) of their API partner sites program  :)

Are you a reseller of 123RF? I've found my 123RF portfolio on your site and images have exactly the same ID...

maybe closing the forum was a result of his poll wanting us to pay him 10 bucks a month for updates?

Yes,  the poll was showing only about 11 votes, 2 supporting the idea of a monthly fee and 9 against it (if I remember well the figures). At this point the poll was closed and a long bye-bye message was posted by Leo. A couple of days after the forum has gone...

For those of you on FAA, I've noticed a lot of what appears to be trawling through my portfolio (over days and weeks) from what appears to be a single location. I worry that someone's lifting all the watermarked previews from there as I can't figure out why there'd be so many crawlers.
Jo Ann, is that trawling coming from Provo, UT?  I've been getting many hits from there, and so has my husband (who has his own fine art paintings on FAA).

Not for me. St. Petersburg, Russian Federation and Sunnyvale, CA. Any new uploads are visited by Kiez - Germany, but I haven't uploaded in a few months, so mostly this is just visits to existing stuff.

I just started to upload to FAA last week and have noticed also a lot of visits from Kiez, germany.

Happy to hear sales happen on Crater!  I removed my 20 images yesterday, though. I felt so  uncomfortable with the fact that my images could be so easily downloaded without watermark that I decided to stop adding more images and finally removed the existing ones from Crated. I contacted support regarding the no-watermark problem and I got evasive responses. If communication by their part improves in the future I would consider uploading again.

17
Just curious...those of you who got "crated"...how many uploads did you have initially before you were approved? It'll give me an idea rather I have enough already uploaded to know rather there is enough. I know someone said they thought it was 15 to 20.

I uploaded 20 and got 'crated' the next day...

a small group of 184k contributors, ain't that a little too much for a simple test? and for sure over 1M files? is there a company who needs that much? use the free images!

"small group out of 184,000 contributors"

19

I'm curious how you guys set the markup. I raised it a bit, up to 50%. My understanding is that contributors take 80% of the markup, is that correct?

20

At this point I wonder what's the difference between being promoted and being curated. Either case your images are searchable and can be purchased...

I received this email today:

"We really like your art and you've been promoted as a featured gallery on Crated!

Your work will now appear in search results and will be cycled within our 'Discover art' page.

Congrats. Let's sell some art!"

Not sure if this is the famous "curated in" email, but now my images can be searched.

BTW, I opened a support ticket regarding the issue with the fact that images can be easily downloaded from contributor galleries by means of the mouse right button and have been told that they are working on a solution for this. I will come back with the progress...

22
What does it mean when "someone has collected your image"?

It means that someone added your image to his/her 'favorites'

23

I've just noticed that images in galleries are shown without any watermark. They can be downloaded by just using the mouse right button so you can get a free image sized as much as 512x349. This is a nice blog size for free  :(

Jo Ann.

Lately I find myself hearting her every comment. Sometimes even after reading the first line. I think she is a big asset to the MSG community, and to Symbiostock.

She has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience and she tirelessly helps out the ones who need it, and she puts in a serious amount of work to support others with their causes.

If you have seen her images, she also quite witty and a great photographer.

I read your comments with great interest and definitely learned a thing or two from you.

Thank you Jo Ann for all you have done here and elsewhere !
