Microstock Services / Re: looking for images to buy

I hate to say it but with the simplicity of digital camera now, every one is a stock photographer.

Then why don't you take your own?

OK....I just arrived home with my replacements.....

D90
8G card
24-70mm f 2.8G ED
77mm Hoya UV filter

and I'm only way over budget!  :o

I picked up a used Canon SD550 on eBay for $51 that I hope to have in a few days. I just wanted another used one since I have the underwater housing and use it diving. And for 50 bucks what ., I wanted a camera quick since I don't know I will have everything replaced.

I really love that little camera, this latest will be my third one....:o....I guess I'm hard on equipment. :D  I still want to upgrade to a G9 or something but I have some bigger issues at the moment.

Thanks you guys!!...It wasn't great stuff but it was all I had.

The good news is it will be replaced for me and instead of 6 crappy lenses I will have 2 or 3 good ones.

Yeah, that's the way I have been leaning towards. I wasn't sure if it was worth going for a used full frame and one lens if I could squeak it in the budget or possibly Canon. I don't know anything about Canon but have had a D70 and a D80.

I guess I should look at what lenses I "must have" for the D90...

I guess I have to look into the cost of the FX lenses but I would think that with a baby on the way my expensive lens purchases would be few and far between. Having said that I may not be buying anything at all for a while anyway, if I go full frame it would force me to buy good lenses.

Is full frame the way cameras are evolving anyway, will that be the norm down the road?

The baby is another reason I was thinking D90...video

I might have 3k or so to spend, I was a bit conservative on that.

Yup....enough to make me cry.  :'(

Not the best pics with my wife's old P&S, but trust me...it was flooded in saltwater for close to two days.

I also flooded my Canon SD550 P&S that I am going to replace on eBay since I have the underwater housing for it.

Anyway since I lost everything I don't know if I should;

Switch to Canon

Get a D90 and a couple decent lenses

Get a D700 and one lens...both used

Or something I'm not seeing.

We have a baby on the way so I think the D90 is the way I'm leaning. I' will most likely only have about 2k to spend, still waiting to hear.

Thanks for the info guys.

I have been rejected from IS 4 times now, I figured I would just try to get on there because my limited research at the time was telling me they were the best site to be on an exclusivity was the way to go.

I have since found that many very successful people are on lots sites. I'm thinking that I might want to try and get on at some of the other sites, have a little success and hone my skills and work my way up to IS. If exclusivity is not the way to go and I end up on other sites anyway, I mide as well start now.

Hi there, I'm a newbie....not only to MicrostockGroup but to Microstock in general.

As I mentioned in the subject I am a click-aholic, I just like taking pictures. I'm a blue collar type a guy and every day weather it be at work or play I am thinking how I would shoot what I'm looking at. I usually take a few shots every day with my P&S that I almost always have with me, if not my phone like I did today or my SLR.

Anyway I discovered Microstock a few months ago and have been researching and trying to get excepted at IS. I have been reading articles, watching Utube tutorials, podcasts, blogs and I signed up to twitter and follow a bunch of fotogs there. It can all get a bit overwhelming... :o  :D

I have lots of questions but I'm going to search around first before asking the same newbie questions over and over, I have found a few threads but if anyone knows of any good starter threads I would appreciate the links.
