Off Topic / Photographer's Portfolio
« on: November 21, 2006, 20:46 »
I sell stock photos online--Probably like you do, except that I'm not a professional, just a hobbyist. A few of my photos have been used in some significant projects and I'd like to showcase those on both my website and in a physical portfolio. Because my photos are stock photos, they are more utilitarian than they are artistic.

My question is this. What should a portfolio contain (both a real one and an online one)? I also write articles, computer scripts, and songs and I design webpages. Is it bad to mix all of those things into one portfolio?

I will appreciate very much any responses I get.

StockXpert.com / 'Free for you' feature

While viewing my images that are posted on StockXpert, I noticed that I can download my own photos for free!  Click one of your images and look at the available sizes.  Where it lists the number of credits for download, it shows "Free for you".  This could come in handy should I accidentally damage or lose an image.

No, there's no other benefits except that you can now apply for exclusivity.

It seems to me that the creative network is just a little gimmick they have to make you feel like you're "in the click".
