Hello,
for a long time i didn't upload 3D on stocks, but now I have something to upload and have a question.
If we are talking about main stocks like Adobe, Shutter, do I need some property release if I upload rendered 3D on these stocks?
In old times I need to upload screen of program as a proof that I have original 3D file that I rendered. But rules could change, so do I need to upload some property release for every rendered 3D?

Hello,
For a long time I'm doing stock photography and sometimes see that my photo is using in some kind of sensitive content.
I want to discuss here what is OK and what is too much.
I read legal agreement on big stocks like Adobe, Shutter, Getty, they all have similar things that not all types of photo usage is allowed. For example not allowed political agitation and some offensive content.

Some days ago I found my photo and my model on sex toy package in a shop. For many people this looks too much, but others can say that it's just a product, specific product. So does anyone have experience in this, may be someone talked with stock support about it? What is "too much" and offensive content in their license meaning? Is sex toy fits this category?

Generative Ai stock images should be separated to a different stock site, they should not mix with real photos and paintings and real human art.
Otherwise soon you will flood Adobe stock with millions of useless Ai images. Right now Ai looks cool cause it's something new. But all Ai is very similar and people uploading Ai too fast.
So soon this "cool Ai style" will be just "Ai similar garbage". I'm not against Ai, I'm just telling that for Ai and real photos there should be different places.

Does anyone know all (or some) partners of Ingram stock?
I have a strange situation with Ingram and want to search for all partners, to know where are my images distributed.

There's an accelerating trend towards "honest" model shots and inclusion of big people.  It's really becoming a thing.
If this trend is coming from people, coming from business owner and his management team I totally agree. Every market can select what type of models do they need. But I'm totally disagree that government should take any lows about this.
May be government should forbid adv at all? Cause on every adv we see "do this, do that, this will bring you success, with this you will be better, lowers price, last chance" and so on. In real world most of this things in adv are not so good, not so perfect, and price is not lowest, and we are not getting better. In real world of totally truth most part of adv should be forbidden. So why are they only looking on perfect slim models... bad low, and even more bad decision from Getty.

This news from Getty is the most stupid thing that I saw on stocks!
First. French laws don't prohibit to retouch images. They tell that it should be mentioned that image was retouched. So why don't Getty just add small check box: this image was retouched, model shape was changed. No. They forbid any images with model changed shape.
Second. This law is only acting in France. So why all people in the world should follow that stupid law? Ok Getty let your customers from France see special warning: fashion and beauty images that you see was retouched.
Finally. In general I don't agree with this law. May be we should write on all movies that FX was created on computer, and that blood is not real, and heroes can't fight so good? No, every human have his own head to think and understand what is good, and what is not. Government should not write on every stone and every tree "this is danger, don't touch, don't go..... don't worry that you are not like slim retouched super model".

Why just don't prohibit beautiful woman at all? On stocks, on everywhere. No make-up, no medical body changes, no jewelry. Just a real people in simple clothing. How this bureaucrats can't understand that Photoshop retouching is just another level of a very long story, story of intention to beauty and perfection.

Finaly I got answer from ESP support after many letters and time.
The problem was in invitation link that they sent to my video a long time ago. I don't know anything about this.
So now they changed something, then send me new link and after all I can login to ESP.

What a perfect support! 3 or 4 times they wrote me very general answers that don't work. I have to spend my time to read, test, read again and test again all that they told me. But all that they need to do is find previous invitation and change something inside.

I'm absolutely disappointed with iStock and Getty.
For about 3 month I can't access to ESP site. I don't receive any mails with direct link to moving from iStock to ESP.
After my mail to support they only give me general answers that don't work. They don't have any solutions but only text like "clear you browser cache".
For this 3 month I tryed this general answers for many times, I read many forums and nothing is working.
How Getty can't solve this problem and can't make new moving link for me? I don't know.
Finaly they don't reply to my mails. I write them in contact form, and waiting for reply one week, then two, then three... no answer.
No button like "chat support", no phone numbers for contributors, no button like "claim to direction", nothing, only mail that don't give my any reply.

May be someone know special secret Getty contact form that give answers? :)

DepositPhotos / Re: New DollarPhotoClub?

I think that anyone should know that Deposite is trying to block image deleting. Now we can't make if fast, we should wait several seconds.
It's very bad cause it's showing that thay can do anything anytime. Tomorrow they can say "sorry you can't delete your images, you reach your limit". So you have to sell images on our site.

Before this I deleted about 1000 images a day. Now I'm going to delete all my images right now. There is a script for Firefox, so I have only to wait a little.

I deleted about 2000 photos and going to remove all my portfolio from Deposite to 1 of October.
I wrote them mail and they are not going to listen authors. So I'm not going to sell my images on that stock.

Oh,  wait a sec.

Is that 4.5 cents (US) for the photographer ? ? ?

I made similar calculations and agree. If customer use fully his subscription we will get much less then even on Shutterstock. Only several cents for image.
It's too low price.
But let compare with Ingram traditional subscription site http://www.ingimage.com/
There I see f529 for year with 250 images in one week. It's equal 7 cents for one image. It's very low price too but ingimage with it's subscription exists for a long time.
And for example we can compare it with prices on http://www.ingrampublishing.com/ image costs f60 and higher.
It's hard to believe that one company can sell equal images for f60 and only 7 cents. It's not good that we can't see detailed statistics about sales on Ingram.
I will be waiting more detailed reply from Ingram support about this question.

General Midstock / Re: What about Ingram Publishing?
« on: October 12, 2010, 18:23 »
anyone know how how to submit to Ingram Publishing?
Hello!
I started this topic and it was long time ago. Since I have many news about Ingram.
Now I can say that Ingram is good midstock and I like to work with them. I help Ingram to find new good authors at this time.
I wrote FAQ about Ingram but it's on Russian language. I have no time to translate it right now. But if it's interesting I will try.
If someone want to work with Ingram and have good portfolio (not beginner on stocks) please send me message and I will give them your contact info.
Or you can try to send them message from their site.

Some additional information.
I found them on
www.fotosearch.com
that is pupular stock search site. They are in a Royalty free photo publishers list on main page. So I think that company is stable enough. But are they friendly to photographers... this is a question.

P.S. Also I found their collection on Alamy:
http://www.alamy.com/contrib-browse.asp?cid=%7BB715E643-5DC8-4056-9C7D-094E3A44C014%7D&name=Ingram+Publishing
that is another + for Ingram.
