An update.

After my post here in MSG, iStock modified the post on Facebook and properly tagged me in the photo (3 days after publishing it).

General Stock Discussion / Westend61 any opinions?
« on: May 27, 2015, 08:42 »
Hi there, I am looking at Westend61 with lot of interest. Especially for the RM collection.

Does anyone have any opinion to share about them?

Thanks!

Few days ago iStock published on Twitter one of my images, but they did not write the name of the photographer.

So I wrote a publish tweet telling them they forgot to name the photographer.

What I got as answer is a private message where they say that their policy is not to publish the name of the photographer on the social.

Once upon a time iStock was a nice place, now they have no respect for the photographers.

Congrats!

I left my day job 7 years ago, in the meantime I visited 50 countries and lived with a backpack on my shoulder (and a camera in my hands) for at least 5 years in total.

That's life!

Keep on uploading! :D

I like how they say how important the description is to SEO, yet, they've decided to remove the description from the image pages.

It is classic iStock's paradox.

"Dear contributor, please waste your time now. In 6 months we will change our mind and you will have to do everything again."

Lies are the foundation of almost any marketing. Sadly.

It is just a "new" kind of exclusivity for "very" exclusive people.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Another Massive Best Match Shift
« on: December 27, 2011, 02:48 »
I never seen nothing like this, today is monday and sales are completely dead, I have not sold a single image in hours, like I said last year and the year before at this day of the year I used to sell $250.00 - $300, today I am still at $28.30, this is like a 85% plummeting in sales, and I am exclusive.

I would like to know if other IS exclusives are experiencing something like this during last 4 days. They did something massive last friday, something never seen before. If this stay like this, I will be out of business by january. And I have the 8th collection in IS in size, 57th in sales.

And is nothing we can do, even questions about this matter are immediately censored in IS forums

Where have been last december? Have you ever heard about "fraudulent" sales? C'mon... it's Xmas time, it is obvious that our sales are similar to Zero.

Relax and wait for January.

there is something going on today or my sales are just dried up and that's that. seriously, my sales literally stopped last night. I'm doing my best not to freak out. I'm down by 60% for this time of day and number of dls...unbelievable.

Welcome on board. I'm on this sinking boat since 8th of August.

Just to give you some more info.

I deleted the cache of my browser. The results are now the same, back to normality.

It seems iStock sent out some new cookies to many of us, shaking the best match. Many customers now have a lot of non exclusive files in the searches.

I wonder who will say to this customers to empty the cache...

Just to give you some screenshots.

I searched the keyword "Morocco" with the iPhone and with the iMac. Same username and same moment, of course. The results are totally different.

iPhone:

iMac:

This new best match shake has some problems with the cookies and the localization.

I checked several files I track and they are not in the same they've been. They are overwhelmed by non-exclusive files.
All my E+ files comes in the search after the Standard collections. and the Vetta files disappeared. That's what I see.

There has been a consistent best match shake during the weekend.

The search results are now dominated by NOT exclusive files. It looks like the best match at the moment gives a better position to all the files with a low price and a high amount of downloads. The result is that Vetta, E+ and Agency almost disappeared.

Compared to the last week I'm loosing 50%.
