I just started uploading videos on Shutterstock, AdobeStock, Istock and Pond5. What's the average review time?

You need a tax license professional specifically if you are being audited. Responding to the IRS on your own may open up a can of worms.

So if I want to start video submissions should I start off with Shutterstock? Currently learning how to process videos.

Vermont was trying to introduce a bill making it illegal to take a photograph of a person without his or her consent. But for what I understand the bill is unofficially dead!

Back to the original post. We can all agree we are all artists and I think we should all respect each others work of art regardless of quality. Defacing someones work of art because you dont like a specific organization, company or feeling disgruntled is very disrespectful to say the least. Dont attack an artist that has nothing to do with business decisions hes not part of!  These types of postings are not attractive to potential future members. If you want to advocate, do it in a civil way.

Beavis and Butthead, a show for drug users! Can't see it as a show that makes your life productive.

90% or more of what's on TV isn't about making your life productive.  It's about entertainment.  I don't watch Beavis and Butthead, but I loved King of The Hill, and since they are both by the same guy (Mike Judge), who also did Office Space, BTW, then it must be pretty  funny.

Lisa,

I rarely watch TV and when I do I search for that 10% gem. For entertainment I come here! :)

Maybe he will start his own stock company, buy one or partner with one. The question is, who will follow him?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Layoffs at istock
« on: January 18, 2012, 14:28 »
Its just my guess, but I really think this points towards the beginning of iStock being absorbed into Getty (rather than operating as an independent site) as many other collections have. With that done, H+F can easily put Getty back on the market for resale. That's bound to happen sooner or later, and a streamlined Getty might be more easily sold.

to address contributor concerns around these layoffs.

This is an internal business matter, part of operations. It should not be anyone's business. I see layoffs everyday and most of the time is because they are not productive, lost some accounts they were in charge of, maybe some cutbacks and etc. Some employees don't adapt to changes and so they have to go. I'm sure they will hire more people to either replace those that were let go or for new projects.

Alexa Traffic Rank

Istock

Global Rank = 325
US Rank    = 243

Most here are hoping it's because buyers are
leaving. I would think if that was true we would see a different type
of chart.

exactly ^ alexa is often quoted around here with glee...but if we pretend their stats are accurate, the drop in traffic is probably due simply to the huge change in the forums.

Activities in the forums are not like it used to be. Therefore traffic will be a lot lower.
Unfortunately some will interpret that as something different!

Hi Guys, I am new here, just want to introduce myself  http://www.istockphoto.com/search/portfolio/439280/?facets={%2225%22%3A%226%22}#1833ac55  .
I don't hate, love or have any other personal feelings regarding iStock, they made me such a nice amount of money during last 6 or so years that I can't complaint. But I feel that it is a good  time to take my portfolio to other agencies . I came here to learn something, since I was exclusive from the beginning and I feel like in "uncharted waters" for the moment.  So hello to all, and it's nice to be here with you.

Welcome!
