I had to modify my tax status and instead of uploading my ID, I had to send my certificate of incorporation/company registration through [email protected]. I tried 3 times for 3 weeks to get a follow-up with them. I can't cash out because of this. This is the message in the Tax Center web page: Your Tax Status: If you are entity, please provide us with your certificate of incorporation/company registration certificate. Please send the document to [email protected] Please delete all information from the line Business name.

I have a refund for 32 cents which is dated 2017-09-18.
Simply unbelievable.
I have written to them to ask for this to be reversed.
Who the heck ask for a refund of 32 cents from over THREE YEARS AGO?
Thank you for sharing this. My earning this month is $-0.49 I deleted all my photos.

The idea to educate the buyers is one of the best. I remember that I stopped buying Nike products when I read the news about how the factories were run in Asia. I don't know if the other brands were better but I stop buying Nike products forever.
Everyone here who has a website could write their own blog article to educate buyers and guide them with the right info.
We just switched our small company monthly purchase account from SS to Adobe. We also buy images from Stocksy when client allows it.
Which other companies would you recommend that has fair commissions and fair prices for customer?
I'll put a request to have an article about this on our blog.
Thanks!

I turned off my portfolio with 500 photos at Shutterstock... and I switched to Adobe to purchase my photos.I calculated that I spent $2,200 purchasing photo through them over the years.
I'm also going to recommend my clients to not buy from SS.

It looks to me that they have their own unique photos. And it seems that there is only one talented photographer behind it (Briena). I wonder if she does or did stock photos on the side.
The photos are beautiful.
What a smart way to grow your business and being in control. You find your interest and go with it.

This is so clunky in Firefox. I had better luck filling this in Chrome.

I agree that she doesn't explicitly claim all the copyright of the pictures but reading this "In the last 20 years I've photographed many pets, and love creating products with their images. " kind of imply that she is creating products with the photos that she took.
I'll verify if these photos had extended sales at fotolia.
thanks for your feedback

Hi guys, I'm one of the lucky photographers who made it to the final round of the video contest at Shutterstock. I tried to make a fun and entertaining video :-) Watch the others too. There are lots of really good stories in there. You can tell that most contributors worked a lot for this contest. Please vote for me if you like my video. Here is the link http://shuttercorp.squarespace.com/blog/stories-votingThanks! Michael Pettigrew

Leo, did you have interest to have a Symbios version for Joomla ? My site is done with Joomla... so I'm just asking :-)

I understand Ron's point of view. I took the time to participated even if I knew not much about video (I'm a photographer).
But... I learned a lot during that time and I will probably submit stock videos in the future.
For instance, I learned to always do a WB correction before shooting. Always double check the exposure. With photography, I could get away by correcting the WB with RAW files. You can't do that properly with video. It's like trying to correct JPG files. Also, I learned that the audio quality is equally important as the image quality.
This has been a great learning experience overall and I'm looking forward to view all the other video entries.

Hi Leo, I too have an issue when processing several photos. Sometimes it processes only the first photo of the batch. One time it did 20 and I had more than 200 selected. Also, the search don't find my photos but it searches the network ones (clipartillustrations) ok. Is there another step that I missed? I sent you a user admin credentials if you would like to verify. http://michaelpettigrew.com/symbiotest/Thanks! Michael

I'm not sure if this is important to you but none of them seem to relate to photography.

I got 4 sales at 13.50 from different kind of subjects. It seems that it affected most of the contributors. I know it's not the case but it reminds me of the istock deal with Google. It would have been the same kind of bump in sales for everyone in one week. Don't you think? I'm absolutely positive and 100% sure Shutterstock wouldn't do such a deal though.

You can view all Google Drive stock images by adding an astrisk (*) in the search box and clicking the search icon. Google also allows you to search by the original Getty image numbers. They do not display results if you search for the copyrighters name.
Thanks for your hard work Kenny. I found that one of my best seller is there :-(

There's no doubt I made a mistake putting all my eggs in one basket, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. It could have gone differently. I coulda beena contender.
Ah well, the beauty of this business is I still own 10,000 stock photos that I'm free to put anywhere I want. There's always next year.
You, sir, have an amazing portfolio.

I notice that PantherMedia finally put descent watermark on their images for sale. I decided to upload more of my best sellers on their site.
I have only 40 active images in the Contribution Panel but when I browse their site to see my photos, I see many that I didn't submit to them (and are not in the Contribution Panel). When I view my portfolio from the buyers side, I see 368 photos. In the contribution portal, 40.
Are they affiliated with another stockphoto agency?
Thanks, Michael

Hi, Not that I am pessimistic but I have I feeling that I am going to make more money in 2012 than 2013 (stock photos are a small portion of my income). So I was thinking to cash in my stock photos income in January 2013 for IS, DT and FT. Does it make sense or the agencies will declare my income in 2012 anyways? Thanks, Michael

I took down my portfolio at DP. I just looked at my best seller and compared the income versus the # of downloads .. it's not worth it. Maybe later I'll upload the same images at lower resolution.
