I'm not exclusive and I don't submit to Istock, but for me sales are steady and still growing. :D

Where are you submitting too sir?

but on a smaller scale, I always felt that 3 in a box, or anna goodman was the way to go. A professional to represent you and your work.

I hope so, I really like what you and your brother have done. I wish it would pick up cause I would love to be apart of that.

Yeah the getty/istock thing is completely understood. But i don't know what to do in my situation I make 50-60 a month through istock, maybe 7-10 dollars a month on shutter stock and forget the rest. As a hobbyist, if I am not associated with Istock what's the point? Nobody else pays decent.

In all honesty the artistic community F'd itself by getting so dependent on these stock sites 10 years ago. All that can be done now is to claw at the scraps and hope that there is enough at the end of the year to provide a great xmas for the family.

I hope you don't feel I am attacking you I really do appreciate the complement.

Istock has always been better for me, doubling sometimes tripling what SS in a monthly basis for the past 3 year. But there is also what type of illustrations you are doing to consider.

I am a illustrator not a photographer, and it seems to be the only site that sells for me.

How do I terminate my account on shutterstock?

How do I delete my shutterstock account? Am I stuck if I added images a month ago?

I am on most of those sites istock and shutterstock seem to be the only ones that sell anything.

He said he is really trying to keep a balance between building a solid catalog of images and keeping his contributors happy.

Yes, it does seem to me that there should be some theoretical happy equilibrium point where enough buyers are finding the things they want and the contributors are few enough that everyone gets nice sales numbers.  I don't know exactly where this point lies, but my best guess at the moment is that it's somewhere above a hundred thousand and below a million images.

Since the Toon Vectors catalog is still well below that point, there is plenty of room for catalog growth.  I have not been actively recruiting, since I don't want to disappoint while traffic is still ramping up, but if anyone is feeling bold (or patient) they are more than welcome to sign up.

There is a thread for the site hiding in the "New Sites" section for general complaints and suggestions:

I just signed up and I am halfway though uploading my portfolio. I like this site so far and I was curious if there is anything I can do to help toonvector?

Has anyone ever had money taken off them at SS for such reasons?

I know I haven't.

Sorry Jens but thats BS and you know it. The fraud rate in the payment industry is about 1%. There is always some risk when selling online. And who says the chargebacks where fraud? What if the image was not used or someone made a mistake and purchased the wrong image? Maybe the image was not up to standards?

By accepting the image into the IS Catalog, isn't IS saying it's proper size and quality? Why do we go through such a rigorous acceptance review if not?

Did anyone else just get a bunch of photos/illustrations refunded? I just got a bunch of refunds issued on some illustrations, Illustrations that would have brought in decent coin before the micostocks companies killed the art industry now I am lucky if I make $10-20 off and they refund due to too credit card fraud. This is BS! Being a artist sucks!!!! You get ripped by everyone!!!

Is istock taking away the rating system? and the ability to view which shots are selling through the partner program? If not does anyone know when they will be up again?

Good morning Mr. Noedel. The link didn't work...
