Thanks gigidread an mayaartist.

@gigidread:
Mpeg Streamclip looks simple to use, but unforunately it crashes for me when I try to export a video.

Since gigidread are using ffmpeg to transcode your export from Kdenlive, it must be doable directly from Kdenlive, as Kdenlive makes use of ffmpeg. Unfortunately I do not yet have the experience needed to write a preset.

I am now trying out Lightworks on a windows virtual machine, and will await the linux version.

Thanks again all.

Thanks Sharpshot and Cardmaverick, I will look at your suggestions :-)

I am new to video, and using Linux on my computer.

It seems that kdenlive is one of the best programs for editing video on Linux, but I am not able to produce a video using the right encoding for stock (so far iStock).
I am using a Canon 5Dii.

Any hints?

Best regards
Morten

Yes:-)

I use Digikam to import/download from camera and as catalog manager.
I use Wine to run Canon DPP and then process the resulting tiff files with Gimp.

Best regards

I had read about focus stacking previously, but I must say 1 thing and that is focus stacking means alot of intelligent masking in photoshop if I am not wrong.

By the way guys thanks to you all for saving me.I uploaded another image and was approved yesterday. My 1st image is under inspection currently.Thank you!

Congratulations :-)

Haha, okay I am not submitting this.I have other pics but just was considering this one.
It is better to get a 'no' from people who help here than from istock. :)

Okay, regarding focus, I would like to ask something as I am new to photography.
When I choose f/22 or f/32 to get everything in focus, there are still some soft areas as in this image. So I decided to catch this image with auto-settings so that I could get more focus points.

But how do you get everything in sharp focus in a shot like this? With aperture priority f/22?If yes, where would you set that focus point in an image like this ?How to get everything in sharp focus? Many said it was out of focus so what could I do next time in the camera when I want to keep everything in sharp focus?

Hi.

It is probably better to use f/11 or around there, because diffraction will make your image more and more soft as you choose f/13, f/16, etc.

You should try and find a program or a table that lets you calculate the depth of field for given aperture, focal length, and distance to subject. Then you will see, that you may not need f/22 or f/32 at all. It is also good to have a feeling about these numbers relationship in the future.

Best regards
Morten

I would not associate receipt of the email with anything.  It's right there on the site and applicable to all

I never received the two emails from Fotolia about commission cuts this year either. Unfortunately the cuts did apply to me anyway... (and then I deleted my small portfolio when I found out)

I just deleted my portfolio at Fotolia.

I know I am just a small fish, but I still makes me feel good though...

Well... (as a small fish / slow producer)

IS is where I make the most money.
I like their reviewing, which seems much more human than other places.
I have learned a lot from IS, being a contributor there.

Hi.

Well, as IS writes, you have sent 3 images of food isolated on white. There may be nothing wrong with the images, but they want you to show 3 different image categories/style, for example on of food, one of a beautiful sunset, and one portrait.

Cheers

Adobe Stock / Re: Earnings per sale

I have a small number of images online, but when I plot my earnings per download, I clearly see a downwards trend.

Actual numbers:
January 2010, 0.78 per image
January 2011, 0.55 per image

I get a lot of subscription sales lately too.

General Stock Discussion / Re: What do you use for keywording

I am using Linux, so I do not have much to choose from.

For keywording, I use exiv2.

General Stock Discussion / Re: yuri interview on John Lund
« on: January 22, 2011, 18:19 »
HI all,

Let's also remember that Yuri cannot go exclusive at Istock because he has work in RF agencies that ask for much longer contracts than Microstock sites do. If he is going to think of going exclusive at Micro level for himself why would he be producing work for Macro agencies in RF? Just a questions to throw out before to much is assumed here.

Best,
Jonathan

So you have said many times __ but that wasn't how Yuri answered the question at all, although he had the opportunity to do so. Either your 'facts' are nonsense or Yuri is being extremely 'economical with the truth' to say the least.

Well, he did put a smiley at the end... I read the whole sentence as just a funny comment.
Of course he would be exclusive if Istock offered him enough (or anyone else), but
it would be much easier to just call them instead of hinting that
he would like an offer on someones blog: -)

Cheers
Morten
