well, I had my first sales on SS today.
Fotolia and Dreamstime, do they both require 6 month commitment?
Congrats on your first sale at SS, Stacey!
I've seen negative news here about Fotolia. I can't recall the specifics (I hope someone else can chime in with a few highlights), but I figure that since I left IS exclusivity partly due to trends that were anti-contributor, I would just be making a deal with the devil I don't know if I linked up with Fotolia. A year or two back I was excited about them but am under the impression now that they've started down IS's path. If I am mistaken, I'll take it back.
I had enough frustration with DT back before becoming exclusive that I won't work with them again.
For me going forward, it's co-ops and agencies that pay 50% commissions or better. I will contribute to SS also, because they're a major player with good sales that's been transparent with contributors. I still have a soft spot for Jon from the time(s) they gave contributors a raise back in the day. Imagine that!
i am also interested to hear about Fotolia, i have joined but i can also unjoin

Same for me Ivan so far for SS i have accepted 90 and rejected 63, also some were vettas and E+ on istock, everything i have uploaded so far is from my iStock acceptances. i have 4/4 accepted on Fotolia, 20/20 on GLStockImages and just got accepted as a contributor to Alamy and no clue what to upload there. I wish you much luck, may the force be with you

Guenter, when you hand in the crown all your portfolio goes back into the PP! thats why we need an opt out option.

When contributors create a Shutterstock account via submit.shutterstock.com, they are asked to submit 10 images for review. If a contributor is leaving exclusivity to submit to Shutterstock, we ask that they write a note to the reviewer mentioning their exclusive status with a link to their portfolio
Are they alluding that they may use a combination of submission and proven work - that's pretty cool of them. Not that it wouldn't be in their best interest to have access to a huge pool of new and proven material.
Yes, i am being offered a bypass, they looked at my istock port and are happy with it, just got to show some ID now. Very nice email, and quick reply, made me feel good

here was my deactivation reason: copyright concerns if image is ported to another getty site or getty gives image away and strips exif data
most iStockers dont know about the Getty/Google deal
