Don't worry. They will backtrack on this. They already know our reaction and in a few days they will say that in consideration to contributoros they will honor the percentage finished at the years end to roll over to january. All very studied.

They are aware that as it stands now many people will stop submitting content and competition will benefit great from this. Calculations have been made a long time ago. Getty deja vu repeated again. Welcome to the matrix.

if you want to raise tax for 5%, you go into public with information that you are going to raise tax for 8%, then all the people go on rage frenzy, after 2-3 weeks of this, and some kind of negotiations, they come to conclusion that 5% increase is a win-win situation. Remember that 5% increase was initial idea.

It is possible that something like this can happen. Its actually very old trick.

I`ve thought something like this. it's quite likely, knowing how the big corps behave.

Ive already disable my vids. Probrably i`will start to delete some of my images on June 1st. For now, i am not going to upload more and will focus on Adobe instead.
I wonder if these changes can be the typical business strategy; make some hard-to-accept changes so that we don't protest when they're modified with the ones they really have in mind.
Anyway, its discouraging.

After 4 years i am quitting Istock too. Constantly declining sales, insulting 15% and 0.00003$ sells. I should have quit much earlier.

The royalty percentage of 15% was there when you joined. They keep it that way because most contributors with large ports won't leave as the income makes it worthwhile to stay, and contributors with small ports who leave are outnumbered by new contributors joining.
Yes, i agree. I did good money the 2-3 first years on istock and it made me stay there. But 0.00003$ sales..come on!

How many files you had in your istock portfolio ?
And yes, 0.008$ are juste ridiculous sale. For the first time in 14 years, I wasn't able to meet the 100$ payment. So declining ... ! And SS and Adobe are rising for me. They got live stat, good contributor portal, good sales ... I'm glad I have quit istock now and I should have quit before ! ! ! Like 5 years ago.

I have 4026 files on Istock and this is the first time since i am contributor that a dont meet the minimun for pay out too. Anyway i was going to quit cause each time i saw on of those 0.000...sales I was upset with myself for staying there.

Istock is my second earner so its difficult to me to make a radical decision, but its enough, i will not upload new content there anymore. In the next months ill concentrate my effords in Ft and Ss (which sadly seems to be dying). As soon as i earn from them what i am earning now from istock i will close my account. Anyway, if any time soon, i see my work sold for 0,02 ill close my account and will not look back.

This announcement closely followed by a flurry of refund emails. I hate IStock.

Got one (my very first in 2 years) refund email, too. A coincidence?

Me too.

Same here. I have received 10 refund emails in a row...

Well my new approved image start selling. That's good.

But,  anyone have some image gallery views ? I'm still  on zero views.
Yes, i have about a couple every week

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Before Map was broken I have every week about 30 views ... now zero. Hmm

I used to have 20-30 views and no zero too. I think it is broken. SS has an strange behavior to me from from a while.

« on: July 07, 2016, 01:56 »
Hi to all, I can also confirm your claims;
I have been suffering a progresive declination in sales and about a 30% income during last year with an alarmating lack of Ods and Enhance downloads. Since the last SS email the drop is bigger this week, entering in the ridiculous zone.
By other hand Fotolia and 123rf are rising to me.

I just opted out of that thing. God knows I need money more than ever now. However, it sounds like the consequences are bad for all of us in the long-term. I want to keep doing microstock work for the long-termand not hurt myself or others in the future for short-term gain.

Thats the point

I recieved the email from Fotolia today. Still not interested in "opt in". In fact, if i could, i would double check "opt out" today!
The basis concept of DPC is wrong, its not good business for any of us whom takes microstock seriously and aspire to it be a durable and sustainable business. We are not going to shoot in our own foot.
(once again, sorry for my bad english)

Hello,
We are having a discussion on a Russian forum and I thought I'd come here and ask this question: was any of the contributors here actually notified by FT about the DPC project in January or around that time? I mean, before the petition?

No, i didnt knew anything about dpc till i read it in this forum

I just deleted a few more. Will probably do some more later too. Good to see that total going down on FT. Hope the American contributors can make a difference as the hours pass...
Hope this too, here in Spain i guess there are no many contributors with big or medium portfolios, and i think, most of them has no idea about all this. There is a lack of microstock community forums and information channels in spanish. My port had more than 1500 photos: Now there are around 1140. I will keep deleting to reducing it to 1000 probably. I know possibly i will feel it in my income but i rather prefer to protect my income from other agencies. And DCP, i think, is threatening those incomes.

In 40 min will start day 1 here in Spain. I will delete some of my photos too for supporting our reasonable demands. In have opt out already.

Message for spanish speakers;

Aprovecho para animar a otros compaeros a unirse a la protesta y a rechazar la opcin de incluir su contenido en Dollar Photo Club, que est activada por defecto. Pueden hacerlo en;

we should make these greedy and destructive agencies superfluous.

SYMBIOSTOCK!!!!!

I wouldnt recommend Symbiostock at this point either, and you know why.

But why?

Don't go there let's stay focused on the issue with Fotolia! We all need to nip this in the bud before it spreads like cancer to the rest of the industry...

+1

In my opinion, part of my job as stock photographer is to stay informed. The reason I come to this forum daily is to be informed. I hope the others do the same.
I agree, although for those who do not speak English to native level  as me, sometimes is difficult kept well informed when the discussion is more technical, and, therefore, complicated.
