I had the same weird situation - after I deleted around 50 files in May my sales have fall down a lot. Maybe just coincidence, maybe not...

I'm back to let you know that 500px decided to cancel my sale from 2016... Yes, they did the refund like it was a physical product that you can send back!
After A YEAR...
That was their reaction on my email asking why I did get a sale (see my post above).

In sum - 500px sold a license to my photo while I was opted out of any sales + partner sales. Next year they let me know about the sale, and after my email asking for explanation they do a refund = I get 0 (zero $), client got my work already (and you can bet it was used so far). Who got the money?

This is extremly weird. I removed all my images looonnnng time ago, maybe two years now. I also opted OUT of partner sales and guess what, I got the same email as you... My account is still open to manage settings but can't find the earnings anywhere.

But forget earnings - how can you sell without images and beeing opted OUT of distribs...?

First article is from 2015... Anything changed?

Sad to see FocalPool closing down, and it was so nice and promising place...

Another agency which ends before their start...

Didn't you agree their rules while joining their doors? It's been said so many times - watch out who you join to! Reading documents you sign (or agree through the internet) is your MUST. For your own safety. After you decided to leave it was worth to contact them (DT) and ask to remind the rules or just read older threads here on the forum where many people before you annnounced their experiences and warned...

Some older users tried to help...

Something has changed since earlier in the year, in that with a Wacom stylus, I find it extremely difficult to click on the exact pixel in the star to promote a tag to a supertag, in case at some time it matters. It is slowing me up no end, and is a known 'thing'. Clearly it wasn't tested by a range of creatives, 'apparently' it's OK with a mouse. (I know some people prefer mice).

I bought the newest Wacom Intuos Pro early this year and found that mostly I can't catch sliders buttons like in Photoshop or on websites, like on Redbubble, etc. to move it precisely. Is this the same glitch you are talking about, Sue? I asked my friend and he has the same problem with his Wacom. Probably the device is not so great as the producer wants it to be... Something wrong with sensitivity points? However, I have to send the Intuos back to shop and I'm back to mouse now :( Sliders buttons work great now with mouse though.

The math is easy and you can clearly see that you'll work more for le$$... No magic here.

in poland with 1000 euro you can live a good life...

Good luck! Looks like you have no idea about the reality.
And to clarify - I come from a small town, now live in Warsaw for over 15 years... Please, don't tell me it's cheap and don't even compare with Ukraine. With full respect for my friends from that country.

10
... it can be a good side revenue as in my case. rely only in micro it's impossible apart living in some country like ukraine russia poland or thailand...with cheap cost of production and plenty of models available for penny. in western world forget.

;D Lol... Tell me, please, what cost of living in Poland do you expect to make, I mean normal living? Base costs, not including models or travel tickets... How many $ would be enough for you, let's say in Warsaw?

Irina, you must be new in the stock industry? I used to think the way you think now... It took years until I opened my eyes.
I also left iS, like every other micros few years ago and so far I had no regrets, my earnings doubled out there with other agencies (there are lots of fair pricing, respecting our work), and from what I can see with my friends the trend is going only in one direction for micros - to the bottom.

Give time to yourself Irina, you will find out why it's not worthwhile to sell for so cheap and undervalue your work. Actually, when I left micros many people here were joking and laughed on me and now, after few years, they do the same - leaving micros one by one...

I remember when I joined SS and other micros almost 10 years ago it was about masses of sales. Maybe it had some sense for photographers to earn loads of $ fast... Well, it's not working this way anymore. Not now, when you have to compete with over 100 mln garbage images.

From SS site: "Over 125 million royalty-free stock images / Over 1,000,000 new stock images added weekly". I mean wow! Should it tell you something?

13
You see, and you say it's dying... ;)

Irony mode off.

I gave this gift to myself in January '14, never looked back, never regretted. After that period I can confirm it was a good decision, less worries, less annoyed...

General Stock Discussion / Re: Society6 experience

After two years waiting I got a sale on S6 this summer, $20 for me. Wow, that was a long waiting! At the same time on RB I get a sale every few days, sometimes few sales a day, on FAA every week or two, sometimes few sales at once.

I sold something on Artflakes lately. I was surprised to get the order from them by Paypal to send back some % of my earnings (VAT?). Also, I set up my markup on 50% and in their report I see 20%. Another glitch or...?
Still waiting for the first sale on P4M, Crated, and few others. Take a look at other threads in this forum. I warned before joining Saatchiart in due to huge files preview (full res.?) without any protection. I never had luck with Zazzle, zero views on my products tells everything about this crowded place.

Back to S6. They improved the upload system lately however it's full of glitches and still needs lots of work. No reading IPTC with lack of sales makes them wasting time for me so far.

Print on Demand Forum / Re: Artflakes % markup issue?
« on: November 14, 2016, 13:48 »
Ok, now this is a serious WARNIGN!

I asked Artflakes few times by email what is the reason that I got 20% against my 50% and in feedback I keep getting answers like below:

"Here it comes: 20% is the default value. We don't have any right (except IT) for changing this value - may you forgot to adjust it to 50%?"

"There is no way to change the value except by your own. (we are very interested in higher sales) ;)"

"It can only be sold with 20% in case you steed it up for 20%. No bugs, no interest to change anything in your account from our site."
I ask them in English to explain what has happend and why my mark up share is not the same as I have set it before the sale came up, and I feel like they don't understand English at all..."

Again - I have set it up on 50% and not 20%. Something is very worrying here!

Print on Demand Forum / Artflakes % markup issue?
« on: November 11, 2016, 06:28 »
Hey,
I have a question to those who sell prints on Artflakes.
Lately I sold a print which is set for 50% markup share for me and in the sale details it shows 20%. Also I can't find out how they calculated the price as the is not matching the 20% or 50% of the sale price.
Anyone can tell how they calculate it? Is there a markup issue on their site?

p.s.
one vital tiny question-
what kind of money are you making with alamy these days???
- on editorials???
- on commercial???

Good point - and the answer is - usually not equal to the efforts...

19
Yes JoAnn, I lowered my payment minimum level last month and this is the only email about changes that I got as it should be - no more changes done (not counting the opt out of ELs).
(I have set it up high last 2 years for some reason but now my earnings dropped down to around 1/5 of what I used to get... Sad to see it after how promising it was starting to be...)

20
Could you people please check out your settings in the account if you opted out of Els and if it's still OUT? I changed it to opt out after they gave us the great announce about pricing cut and today I've accidentally found that I'm IN again...  ???

« on: June 29, 2016, 01:18 »
In this sad situation it's still good to know it's now only me.
SS was my last micro agency where I had my images to sell (I moved to PODs, self pricing and macros) and in the end of '14 I noticed that it doesn't matter if I upload zero or hundreds new files - income was at the same level and later even falling down month by month. So in '15 I finally stopped uploading there anything. It still did not change anything in income, lol. Slowly going down just like when I was uploading every week or few days. No matter.
SS was my best earner and now it's at the end of list as it gives only some peanuts every month (still get payments but it's 1/5 of what I had a year or two before). Pointless to spend time and hard work on uploading here. In my group of friends the same scene lately - everyone asking what is going on. Is this the end of micros?

22
ShadySue, I'm surprised that YOU ask this question. You are very active on the forum and you should know the answer for your question. We already talked about it in other threads and nothing has changed in last month(s) :)

23
This is another time when I think that beeing rejected by some agencies is like a blessing ;)
Another reason to focus on and support only trusted and fair place(s)...

In my case last time Alamy earns more (net) than SS so no reason to put false results in the poll. Btw, huge number of Alamy contributors do not visit this forum at all. If they did, the result would be even more surprising for microstockers ;)
