Shutterstock.com / Re: Shutterstock Approvals
« on: February 24, 2023, 04:58 »
This has been happeing to me for about two months. If I submit in the morning time, from Tuesday to Friday, the review takes usually less than an hour. I thought it was strange. It doesnt help me much though, my new images dont sell. I guess they are lost between thousands of others, which are approved immediately, just like mine.

« on: February 22, 2023, 05:25 »
I have files that are waiting 5 days for inspection.
That wasn't situation before.
They were accepted/rejected in a 3 days time tops.

Anybody else ?

I had two last batches of vector illustrations reviewed in 6 and 7 days.

If you actually read the bible you'd see that they often talk about the environment and animals. How sacred they are.

Oh really.. Many years ago I tried to start reading the bible, to know something about it at least.. I stopped as soon as it mentioned the need for brutal animal sacrifices. I dont need to read such things, it makes me physically sick. And that was only the very beginning..

Adobe Stock / Re: PNG files on Adobestock - Some Questions
« on: October 07, 2022, 07:33 »
Some of my vectors (newly uploaded) with white background are automatically available also as PNG , but my old vectors aren't

Can I ask what size of artboard do you use for the file to be available as PNG? I suppose there is some minimum size?

5927 X 4000 or 5000 X 5000 in both JPG and EPS

Thank you very much. I typically have smaller artboard so I must change my routine now.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Selling photos to russia
« on: September 13, 2022, 05:23 »
The level of brainwashing in Russia is unbelievable. It seems Russians think that Ukraine exists in some vaccuum, that the country doesnt have any neighbours apart from Russia. Guess what, you forgot about Poland, you forgot about Slovakia, you forgot about Czech republic - although not a direct neighbour but close enough to take in 400 000 refugees from Ukraine. You think we need some American press? We have our own eyes and ears and we can see the monstrosities the Russians commit in Ukraine. Noone needs any foreign press, we have our own. You really are so blinded, you dont realize Ukraine has neighbours.

Yeah, well, how often does Getty do the logical thing?

Yeah, I find the email suspicious, while in fact it is probably just classic iStock :) I should stop expecting things..

Yes, I checked the Tax Interview tab immediately but there is no notification or warning of an approaching expiration. The email says that my tax form will expire as of 31 December 2018 but there is no mention of it in the ESP account, neither in the Tax tab or the Messages tab. I would expect them to send the message also directly through the ESP, not just an email. Well, I will wait and see.

I created a support ticket asking them about legitimacy of the email. Hopefully they will reply soon.
It's likely to be legitimate, as the site told me my tax interview had expired and I had to do it again.
I didn't click through from the email, though, as I was also nervous in case it wasn't genuine, but I was already logged in and just went to the link from my profile.
I completed and signed the form without hitches, FF/Win.
(However back when I had to do it for the first time, it was a nightmare which took me days to do, all sorts of technical hitches.)

Thanks. I will wait till next week, if I hear from support or not. Then I guess I will just fill in the Tax Interview again, it wont hurt. The email looks a bit weird because it is a clustered text with many links, it looks somewhat unprofessional but it is probably legitimate since they had my ID correct.

I received a suspicious looking email saying my Getty Tax information was expiring...anyone else?

I got the same email and it does look suspicious but it mentions my Contributor ID which is correct. When I log in to ESP and click on the Tax Interview tab, there is no warning or notification about my tax form expiring.  I dont know if the email is legit  :-\

Then they asked in both emails that "have you previously created a SS Contributor account ? ". I said no. Then my aunt's account and mine were terminated.

They gave you a chance to explain what you did with the two accounts and, for some reason, you didnt tell them the truth. Only after that, they closed your accounts. So what do you expect now? Why vent here, you should communicate with them. But Im afraid it may be too late. I dont understand why you didnt explain it to them when they asked..

123RF / Re: 25/9 no sales?
« on: September 28, 2018, 04:44 »
Hey, it seems they updated the earning information! Originally, I also had 0 sales on the 25/9 but Im checking it now again and the spreadsheet shows 12 sales on that day.

So it was their mistake in reporting. I hope you all see the updated earnings as well!

« on: September 25, 2018, 04:18 »
I was hoping for an upswing after summer months but sadly, September is worse than August for me. Im selling some very old images, from the ancient times 6 or 7 years ago when I started... Maybe some search change again, I dont know. But it is depressing  :-\

People shouldnt forget that it is against Shutterstock rules to publish our earnings... I see people breaking it all the time but I wouldnt.

You don't have to post the actual numbers. Just the relative numbers.

Im not going to post anything, the "cap" debate is irrelevant to me and no matter what anyone posts here, the debate will not end (it is naive to think that you can just shut down some subject..).

I just wanted to point out what many contributors seem to forget about Shutterstock - that they have literally forbidden us to show our earnings. Thats all.

123RF / Re: Contributor level drop
« on: February 02, 2018, 02:48 »
I dropped from level 5 to level 3. I have a bit over 5000 points. Yesterday I still had subscription sales for 0.36 dollars (like before).

He probably deleted the copied images himself, after reading this thread. I dealt with copycats before and it took Shutterstock about 10 days to react after my complaint and they deleted the whole account, not just the copied images. I think you gave him a warning.. Looking at the rest of his port, I believe most of it is copied, those logos, lion heads etc..

22
I lost my portfolio and lost Shutterstock buyers forever...

You said you had 140 vectors. Created during 3 years. You didnt put much work in it, did you?.... And your sales were minimal before the mysterious "e-marketer" stepped in, so the Shutterstock buyers you lost were not interested in your images anyway. You didnt have any sales before, you lost nothing. Why didnt you earn the money through normal sales? You had the whole 3 years for it. I dont know what you keep complaining about, you tried to cheat, you got caught, end of story.

General Stock Discussion / Re: JULY SALES
« on: July 26, 2017, 01:58 »
What Im seeing is mostly stagnation. But I didnt submit any new images except for one in the last 4 months so I dont really expect any increase..

My Shutterstock sales dropped by 30% overnight in November and since then, Im stuck in this new level, Im still in four figures monthly but it is tight.. July will be slightly better, thanks to two big SODs.

As for the smaller agencies, iStock still generates enough for a monthly payout, stagnating since last year when I removed almost half of my port there.
Dreamstime is about the same for me for the last six years... it takes two or three months to reach the payout, no increase, no decrease, no nothing..
My 123rf sales have been decreasing since I stopped adding new images.
My Adobe sales have been increasing since I stopped adding new images :D

24
hard to believe the BS some people are coming with to defend themselves... but that reminds me I should report one thief who traced one of my images to SS. I was postponing it as I dont like reporting but this thread pushed me. Thanks.

25
You have been a contributor for 6 years and you dont know that you cant sell silhouettes you created from the images you dont have copyright to? That is not some newbie mistake, after 6 years you should have known better.. if you are with some other agencies and have the silhouettes in your portfolio there, delete them and never do this practice again.
