I stopped uploading for a couple reasons, mostly because of the price drop/low commission.

The last batch I did upload was a group of people at a bar, having fun, looking at smart phones etc..  Very well lit, good looking models, well composed, good shots.  They rejected it all because it had "no commercial value".

Those clips are selling well at other agencies.

Not sure what Dissolve is trying to do, perhaps they only want exclusive content?  Good luck to them?

I have, including just today. But as with all sites, I've had difficulties. Sometimes the same file gets re-sent over and over, sometimes it hangs at 100% completed, 0:01 left (depending on the ftp client I use). It's very frustrating.

Thanks for !  I'll try another ftp client.

I've noticed they are picking up as well.

Has anyone been able to upload 4k photo jpeg through their ftp?

I've tried and the files get rejected.  Their own support team doesn't seem to know what photo jpeg is!

It's a small sample size, but I was selling more at Dissolve at $80 than $49.  Looks to me like they pissed off contributors AND are making less $.

Since they lowered the price on all my clips I stopped uploading.  I figured I would wait and see what the impact would be, Dissolve has less than 25% of my portfolio so I wasn't too worried.

So far sales have really dried up there, pretty dramatically actually.  Everywhere else things are steady or improving.  I wanted to ask for others people's experience.

Perhaps they are on the decline as an agency?

Same here, still getting sales but no payouts or responses.  I can't think of any good reason why they can't pay contributors.  Their legal troubles were over a long time ago!

It's sad, but I'm going to have to remove my work.  At this point they are stealing from me.

I'm pretty disappointed by the price drop and the manner in which they went about it.

Still have clips up there but I'm not sure why.  If they start selling really well at $49, then that probably means it's cannibalizing higher priced sales elsewhere.  If sales remain the same, well that's just less money for everyone.  Lose lose situation.

I had high hopes for dissolve as a new partner, oh well.

Do you take pride in the experience of your contributors?

I would urge you to listen to our concerns.  Please don't lower prices unless you can raise commissions.

I request a payout every month, and have been sending emails about once a month.  Sometimes I'll get a small payout, but it doesn't match the rate that I'm selling.

This month no response, I'm feeling like this might be a lost cause.  Having a hard time agreeing with their business plan, you cant just keep taking peoples money and hope to someday get on track and pay them back.

Actually as I typed this I did get a reply.  They instructed me to read their blog post.  Not very encouraging.

They owe me over $1000 now.  Too busy to respond to requests, but not too busy to sell my footage.

Yuumee, that number is something I read on the internet somewhere... Probably someone's estimate, but I believe it is probably around that or more.

I will say that you can make more money from 10 good clips than you can from 10,000 mediocre clips.  I don't believe it's about volume.

Stock footage is a 500 million dollar a year industry.  Shoot what people want to buy and you can make a living.  The tricky part is figuring out what that is and doing it well.

Haven't seen a payment since March.  Sales continue, actually picking up.  Where's the money going?  It's ridiculous to have to keep reaching out and hoping for money that they are making off my work!
