Lets get off of agencies in the subject . We need to start minding our own business and just be productive. But lets talk about the "real" issue, which is nothing more than human.

Do you think the young creative dynamic people who started these new giant web entities (agencies) knew or cared about the things you mention back in their garage days? Its all psychology.

For instance twitter and facebook were born from hackish self-promoting spammers who nationalistically take advantage of people to a degree sooo disgustingly injurious that they will probably find their way into history as possibly one of the most evil manifestations of technological corruption. Twitter exploded due to spammers having much freedom in the beginning. Twitter encouraged spammy use of its API for growth. Then at a certain point of development they "Cracked down" on the very people they were, came from, and were promoted by. (*hint hint* look for patterns please, this is your queue to do so)

Its interesting though that on the web being called a spammer on the net is like being called a pedophile in RL. And if you use their networks in a way that (god forbid) you may actually promote yourself in an "unsolicited way", you become a spammer by their own invented definitions. Conversely if you pay them to promote you, you are suddenly escalated to the status of being marketed, in which case they spam for you using people's hijacked information their targets/audience/victims unwittingly submitted in 1000's of ways.

I'm not up on the facebook thing, but do they still log into your email and extract your contacts to blast your friends that you want to be friends on facebook?

So really, we can talk like a bunch of emotional little victims about all sorts of issues, and rail against agencies like an angry teenager looking for a little freedom. But agencies are corporations. You might as well criticize a polar bear for being a man-eater. It is what it is. Its doing what its made for.

The best thing Symbiostock could have EVER is a lot of people who understand how things work.

Symbiostock needs a few guidelines (more inspiration) and ONE of those guidelines should just be to stop taking the agency issues so seriously and just focus on making a living in the most productive setting possible.
