Shutterstock.com / Re: $50 Single
« on: December 13, 2016, 06:12 »
I recently got a $50 'Single and Other' sale. I've never had one for anything close to that before. Why would someone end up paying such a big amount that I would get that much? I'm not complaining! I'm just curious.

Happened to me too, later i discovered it was displayed for few seconds on a popular tv show.

Someone just posted in the FB group that if you go to the stuck file, click edit, and save, it unlocks.   Tried it and it worked.

Thanks Karen, it worked for me too.  :)

... did you know that you can now download as many photos as you want at PantherMedia? Wondering how that could be possible?
The answer is simple: The PantherMedia Photo Flat Rate.
Flat rates are available on a 1, 3 or 12 month basis. During the subscriptions term you can download as many pictures as you want. Photo flat rate pricing starts at 149 Euro per month...

Correct.
The other speculation is that the rank is doctored by someone trying to make Alamy attractive to contributors, the same way some Amazon reviews are doctored by seller's insiders. It is advisable to be careful when you see those over enthusiastic positive reviews and better pay attention to what the negative reviewers have to say  ;)

Like Yay did, not long ago.

Maybe Alamy is good for the images not longer accepted by the other agencies (graffiti, logos, etc.etc.), otherwise (if i was a buyer) i really can't find a reason to go there and buy something.

Same here...
Search by relevance results changed a lot recently, but i don't know if this is the only reason.

I'm using "Who stole my pictures?" extension for firefox and it seems to work quite well

Panthermedia.net / Re: Whats your expirience on Panthermedia???

So, I tried to register with panthermedia, but I found out, that my photos are already in the database. Is panthermedia partner site of fotolia or any other stock site?

Yes I know it's an old thread... maybe someone could be still interested since recently I had the same experience and found out quickly that the port i have (had) on depositphotos was replicated entirely on panthermedia without being aware. I don't have any problems with subs, but it's just a matter of knowing vs hiding.
I had to ask 3 times to DP to remove those images from PM (DP operators, they are instructed not to answer to any panthermedia/affiliate/partner question and so it was not easy, at the end i had to call them by phone before having success).

Anyway, actually 90% of the images on PM come from DP (easily found with the advanced search/partner option on PM) and combined with the fact that the images are listed/ranked in the 100% exactly same order on both sites, It makes me feel to be in front of a mother and son, or mirror if you prefer.

Consider also that you're not allowed to remove permanently any of your images on DP (aka "The Mother"8)).

Did You try R-Studio by R-Tools?
It's quite successful in these situations.

Good to know, many thanks! I'll be rich in a month, good.

Infact I do not know anything about subs, I only know I don't like them.

And now i see that even an istock moderator replied at my topic in their forum.

Is it the power of the microstockgroup forum?

iStockPhoto.com / My 2 cents on Istock... and Cuba
« on: December 19, 2014, 10:46 »
Hi there,

I am.. the last one... i mean I am not a pro and i'll never be, i just started uploading since few months and my portfolio sucks; basically i just follow one of my passions and see whether or not one could make some small extra bucks this way.

From my little experience, I have to admit that somehow the whole thing could work even for a newbie like me, and that's good.

But there are still things that i really do not comprehend at all, maybe because of my small experience; so that's why i'm writing here, in the hope that someone more skilled than me could give me some hints or just a plain and brief explanation of how things go.

Here are the facts:

During last week i noticed a strange problem, which i described in the istock forum:

http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=364621&messageid=7070177

and nobody from the staff is considering it. Other users, yes they are considering it.

Before writing that topic, I submitted a ticket and sent 2 emails. No answers.
The only thing that happened is that from today i cannot see anymore (in my account page) even the ticket i submitted (was pending till yesterday). Of course that problem still persists.

Anyway, today i discovered another fact, one of my (cuban) pic was published here few days ago:

http://www.pecand.com/this-is-what-obamas-huge-announcement-on-cuba-really-means/

(sorry i don't want to promote myself in any way, i just want to show what happened)

The first photo in this article was made by me and is currently available from 3 agencies, you can see my name under the pic. I use this name only on Istock.

This pic was sold by Istock or thinkstockphotos, which is the same, and i did not get a cent, a penny, nothing. Zero.

So, what you guys/girls should do if you were me? Assuming that writing to them seems to be a waste of time.

Ok, ok, i know i could change sport, i know i can delete my pictures, i know i suck and i am ugly, but, after all ... is it normal such a behaviour from one of the top agencies?

Is it a kind of decline of the empire or they have always worked like this?

Please share any of your thoughts, they will be well accepted (at least by me).
