Hi dirkr, Thanks for your suggestion. Many of our users prefer to share higher-res images, so we provide the low-res option for those who don't. Duly noted about the watermarking

Hi Plank. Thanks for your post. Definitely a topic were aware of. The best option to protect your images online (500px and elsewhere) is to use low res images. As you know, even with all the security in the world, a simple screenshot could be used to pirate photos. We do have more improvements coming (watermarks, etc.) but the low-res upload option will always be your best bet.
Were always open to requests and suggestions from our members; our product team reads these posts, and we're always considering ways in which we can improve for our users. Thanks!

Hey hofhoek, There's no way to upload directly to Prime right now - for the moment, you upload your images through your 500px account, then enable them in your store and submit them to Prime. If you're running into your 20 uploads per week limit, I'd be happy to upgrade you to a Plus account (unlimited uploads) Just shoot me an email at adri [at] 500px [dot] com with your 500px user name. Congrats on your sales btw - hopefully you have many more to come!

They don't have to be exclusive but you must remeber that you'll have some extra work on double uploading. They don't watermark your images ans let it share as large files, so IF you don't accept it and want your work to be more safe (never in 100% of course) you have to:
resize image, add watermark handly, upload once this small size, copy title, description and keywords beacouse it doesn't have IPTC data when saved for web, then upload another file as large to sell it in PRIME...
500px is the only one agency I know that does this practise. Everybody else, every other agency does resizing and add watermark (or let you choose if you want it) and you upload once. You save a lot of time! I'm sorry 500px doesn't listen to us...

Sorry I'm late to this party! I already replied on another thread, but we ARE bringing watermarking to 500px this year. We do listen, I promise  The whole uploading to Prime process is going to get much simpler, hopefully very soon.

Womp, womp Your math is correct. Bummed to hear about the lack of sales. We've published many a tip and trick to help those sales along on our blog, iso.500px.com - proper and thorough keywording seems to be the big one. Fingers crossed for you that things turn around

500px is a photo community for discovering, sharing, selling, and buying amazing photography (full disclosure - I work there). Our community's photos are available for licensing at prime.500px.com. You're right - it's not your typical stock photography marketplace.
The link KnowYourOnions posted is a bit out of date now, a lot has changed over the past year We now offer one of the highest royalty rates in the industry - 70% net for every license sold.

Is there a possibility of having watermarks in the future? If it wasn't for this problem, I would join 500px in a flash. As it is now, I just don't have the time to do all this extra work.

Hi Annie, Watermarking is coming to 500px, yes It's going to be great. Can't give you an exact timeline just yet, but it'll be this year, and hopefully sooner rather than later. Adriana

On 500px Prime (prime.500px.com), you receive 70% of the net sale price on your photos. I agree with previous comments, it can take a while to make a sale Post your best work, make sure it's titled and keyworded well, and hopefully you'll see a sale soon. Good luck!
