Looks great! Nice work!

I have around 3000 Videos and 3500 images, constantly growing. Does this small size could be worth it? What do you think?
What about different video framerates? Is your app able to convert in different framerates automatically?

Best regards,

Martin

GH5 shoots 180fps only at 1920 x 1080p.  How come you have 4K version of it?

That could be the reason for the rejection.

@Cider Apple:
The GH5 slows down the footage by itself. You did not get a 180fps stream but an already slowed down footage at 24p, 25p or 30p, depending on your shooting settings.

Not regularly, you're right. I'm uploading via BlackBox since August.

Had my last sales in August. :-(
Since then nothing, nada and rien!
Usualy i got $200 - $300 per month.
Hopefully this is not going on this way...

Am i that old fashioned with Win 7?

I'm with BB since one month or so. Only two sales till now, because i have just around 200 clips online, but that's not important at the moment, because of my 200 clips. ;) I will upload more and see what will happen...

I've noticed a few good things about BB. When searching my clips uploaded via BB at the agencies they are dealing with these clips are very high ranked. A lot of clips of mine on page one.
As mentioned above they have some deals with the agencies. You can get more money with BB + Shutterstock for example.
And i think the most coolest thing about BB is: They managed it that Storyblocks raised their price for HD footage to $79, so that Storyblcok's commission cut doesn't hurt so much.

I don't understand the very negative posts about BB. My feeling is that BB really cares about us. I'll give them a try...

I'm not a fan of subscription software, but this move is nice. I made 858 with video since January, but no eMail yet. Hopefully this eMail will be send in the next few weeks...

Shutterstock.com / Re: Are sales reporting today?
« on: April 11, 2018, 14:27 »
I'm also wondering what happended to Shutterstock after easter. I had only one video sale in April. It was a good one ($102, maybe 4K?) but usually i have 2-4 sales a day.
BTW, it's extremly annoying that this big player isn't able to report video sales after they launched their new interface ages ago. That's ridiculous!

Yes market your work...but as was pointed out you MUST watermark the footage. Otherwise you are actually just giving it away to unscrupulous editors.

Here is an example of what I do:

LP

Kinda creeps me out tbh, the people staring at me without doing anything in combination with the melancholic music.

Haha, me too! ;) It's even more creeping without music, like i watched it the first time. This staring at camera looks really like... - i will kill you! ;)
Anyway, maybe it's suitable for some customers...

"In AE if you go to Effect - Color correction, you will find TRITONE, TINT and plenty of other effects"

Tritone, tint... - that's no color correction, that's a tint. Leave your footage neutral with correct white balance, saturation and contrast and let the customers decide what final look they want. If they want a black and white image they can do it by themselves. I would never upload a black and white image because i suggest this looks right. Only customers know which tint looks right regarding to their project.

VideoBlocks / Re: Videoblocks metadata
« on: August 11, 2017, 15:10 »
Videoblocks is now accepting pics also? Sorry, i didn't visited this forum since two months or so. ;)

What about the royalties? How much does a pic costs on videoblocks and how much can i earn?

« on: June 10, 2017, 11:56 »
Hi there!

I have no experiences with photos on Videoblocks.

I joined Videoblocks in 2016 and for a long time nothing happend, no sales.
But slowly something is going on with Videoblocks. A few sales every month since march, as you can see in the attachement.

Maybe Videoblocks will become a really good agency, we will see... I will continue uploading...

Best regards,

Martin

Got an Inspire 1 with a X3.
I agree that the video quality is not the best, especially at the beginning, before many upgrades, but you can handle it.
Here are some examples:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/t5mc7dv4zx0egzu/Ideja-media_Aerials.mp4?dl=0

https://www.dropbox.com/s/gnwy5o123rzjm49/Binnenalster_Aerials.mp4?dl=0

https://www.dropbox.com/s/y3cqi0r0w7jdo00/Schleswig-Holstein_Aerials.mp4?dl=0

To get rid of the moire i lower the sharpness.

The stills quality is also not so good, so i'm shooting always HDR's:

Anyway, the Inspire 1 with the X3 is a little bit more than only a toy and it makes a lot of fun! Looking forward for the X5R... ;)

Best regards,

Martin

Incredible work.  How are you doing these? I mean, are you setting up shoots in these areas with property owners, city etc? Looks like a lot of coordination, permissions, etc, which makes these very unique indeed.

For the most interiors i need a permission of course and i'm investimg in them, but for the most outdoor shots i refer to my right  "freedom of panorama".

Try it, you will not regret it! ;)
I really love the possibilities hyperlapse gives you.

Yes, you have to invest in a lot of practice and some software, but it is worth it!

time and effort needed to pull them off (shooting, stabilizing, editing...)

Sometimes I feel like I'm married to the Warp Stabilizer considering the amount of time I spend with it...  :P

LooL! :-)

The Warp Stabilizer sometimes works like a charm and sometimes it behaves restive... - like women do! ;)

How to become a Getty contributor?
Well, i was lucky enough to be invited via Vimeo, especially because of this two videos:

Unfortunately this invitation process is no more.
At the risk of getting less sales because of other talented contributors entering Getty, but here is a link where you can submit samples of your work:

Martin

I can't influence the RM or RF decision. That's up to Getty itself and me and other contributors often criticize their decision.

No, Getty doesn't request certain clips.
It's up to me. I really want the best of my work on an agency which has the reputation of selling high quality content.
I want the big customers to see my name under high quality content.
That doesn't mean that i'm uploading garbage to the other agencies. But it's not that high end. Or even what i think is high end.

Those $2000 sales does not happen every day, but that happens more often than once in a year.
Over $1000 for video and surprisingly for pictures is not that rare.
I nearly get 2 - 4 $300 - $500 sales every month.
But be also aware that Getty has a system called "Premium Access Time Limited".
If you have bad luck your work will be thrown away for peanuts, like $6,50.

I'm with VB for 3 months but with no success till now... :-(

@Irina Anosova

this camera and your beautiful lighting make superb videos!

@increasingdifficulty

the Hamburg Airport Hyperlapse was sold three times for example. One buyer purchased it for around $2000.
I think Getty has the big buyers, customers who have money and are willing to spend a lot of it for great quality and unique stuff.

Getty compared to Shutterstock (March):

I had 16 sales (pictures and videos) with Shutterstock and i earned $100. Not a good month.
I had 10 sales (pictures and videos) with Getty and i earned $650. I have to say that this was also not a good month with Getty! ;)

But you're right, it's not that easy to compare since i don't have the same stuff on both sites. All i can say is that you don't need as much sales on Getty compared to Shutterstock or other agencies to get more money.

Pond5? What . is going on with Pond5?
I had no sale there since January!

Best regards,

Martin

Yes, i use all techniques available.
All the expensive stuff like sliders, drones etc. are only affordable because of macro and microstocking, besides my regular occupation.

Unfortunately Getty Images is exclusive only so my best work is there, because i'm earning the most with them.

I took a look at your port on Shutterstock and i'm hungry right now! ;)
Really great clips!
What camera did you use for the slow mo shots?
I'm waiting for the Panasonic GH5 because of its probable possibility to shoot in 120fps...

Best regards,

Martin

Same here!
Uploaded a few pictures today and a couple of minutes after i received the "Thank you" mail my uploads were reviewed.

Strange...

Pity!

I become a Getty contributor a year ago. Ten years late!
2006 was an exciting year for Getty contributors i think.

Someone from the golden years here in the group?

Best regards,

Martin
