Shutterstock.com / Re: What is happening to SS?« on: October 13, 2017, 04:38 »
October looks awfol even for the low standards I'm used to.
Shutterstock has been very regular in the last 6 months, with month to month oscillations always below 10% (the famous "cap"?) but in the first 12 days of October I made only 1/10th of the usual monthly avarage (in terms of revenue and DLs). In general things are really quieter than usual on all the other agencies, too. Unless some big changes next weeks, this will be my WME: I earned more on August 2016, after two month since I started, with 200 items on 4 agencies, than what I'll probably do this month with 1600 items on 14 agencies. Not really encouraging... 6

...and 70$/month from 800 pics is not that bad, these days... especially for new photos that seem to be penalized in SS in the latest months

Pond5 / Re: woooow my first sale on POND5« on: September 29, 2017, 08:40 »
looking at the artist resources you will see that sometimes very "normal" pictures sell for hundreds of dollars, so if an image sale on Pond5 is very rare, at least let it be very big ;-)

Pond5 / Re: woooow my first sale on POND5« on: September 29, 2017, 08:03 »after a year of nothingness . Pond5 pays 50% and the artist is free to decide the item's price. As per their policy minimum price for videos should be 25, but even if it was an image 5 is quite low Anyway...the artist decides... 9

Coming back to the free software for Time Lapse, I think that it could be done with DaVinci Resolve

Thank you all.
It was mainly curiosity, I couldn't find it and yes, I already tried to update the info but nothing changed. Anyway, I don't think it's worth to lose any more time with istock: I stopped uploading many months ago and I can just wait for the 20th of the month. 13

Am I the only one that cannot find this famous counter on ESP Profile page?
Where exactly should it be? On the same page what other infos are displayed? All I can see is personal information and the button to update them 15

I stopped uploading 10 months ago and they're not trying to make me change opinion...
6 DLs for a whopping 0.62 $ total 16

I'm not a great expert bu the first thing that I notice is that many shots would benefit some stabilization.
Image quality is good but some not very fluid movements are distracting 19
General Stock Discussion / Re: JULY SALES« on: July 28, 2017, 03:00 »The rest: there is a rest? On which website? I can't find it on ESP (and can't login to istock from workplace) 20

General Stock Discussion / Re: Market research« on: July 27, 2017, 03:39 »
Well....not many agancies share these informations...
anyway the ones I know are: Picniche : gives you a rating for a specific search string Alamy measures : deep analysis, but limited to Alamy, of course Dreamstime used to publish number of downloads for each image, I'm not sure if it still does (i can't check now) Photodune publish these data for each image, but limited to Photodune and it means that nowadays, with many ports removed, it's quite useless Pond5 artist resources publish a weekly/monthly list of most searched keywords and best selling items 22

General Stock Discussion / Re: Do animated background videos sell well?« on: July 06, 2017, 10:25 »And if they are reviewing 4/5/6K a week, then it's highly unlikely they have just one person reviewing, not sure where you heard that one from. if we consider an average of 20" per clip, 6k clips cover 33 hours of footage per week there could be just one reviewer, indeed... 24
General Stock Discussion / Re: Armed guards required for shooting models in Brazil« on: June 16, 2017, 11:36 »
I've been in Brazil in 2011 and never experienced something like that, neither in Rio, Brasilia or Manaus. Maybe I was simply lucky. Anyway...half of my microstock sales comes from pictures taken during that trip: Brasil images are selling much more than Argentina, Turkey, Namibia, Nepal,Italy,...probably there is just less competition

General Stock Discussion / Re: Is there some kind of a holiday?« on: June 07, 2017, 03:11 »Good start to the month of Thursday and Friday. I had a terrible day on Saturday though, but there was a double shadow-transit of Jupiter from Io and Ganymede... so that would explain it. Things seem to be back to normal now. Sure...but this have an impact only on space related media |
