General Stock Discussion / Re: Addictive Stock Creatives
« on: June 29, 2018, 09:58 »
I've put together a detailed review of Addictive , including a short Q&A with Founder and CEO, Victor Torres:

https://brutallyhonestmicrostock.com/2018/03/21/addictive-stock-brutally-honest-review/

It's been a little while since your last post, how is it going submitting with them?

I am closing down my Eyeem account because I feel  is to easy to steal images from their website, no watermarks on large previews and you can right click and download a 300 dpi 2x3inch image (why would anyone buy a license for web, etc. use when they can just steal it!)

I contacted them over a week ago to have my premium images removed and was told it would take a couple of days but they're still on the site. I have politely followed up to ask why they have not taken down my images a week later and they are not responding to my email.

What other recourse do I have to get them to remove my images? The only option on their website is to email their customer support.

I have a bin to delete my premium pic if i want. (right bottom of the page)

Thanks, I tried that originally and all the comes up for me is to email support. I can't check again now anyways because they deleted my account without my permission  >:(

General Stock Discussion / Re: SuperStock Sales?
« on: May 22, 2018, 20:51 »
Just wanted to post an update for anyone who might want to more info. I finally received the contract from SuperStock today (3 weeks later!) and not sure I am going to sign with them, they have an 18 month hold on any images if you request anything to be removed from the site, which is a deal breaker for me.

I had to remove one of my premium images last year, it took them a couple of weeks but they did do it. You have to email them as there is no way to do it via the website.

I'm not with Eyem, but I understood that premium images are sent over to Getty. If it is so, it can take up to few months for pictures to be removed.

Thank you both for the info. As of today Eyeem just deleted my account without any response to my follow up email and 16 of my images have been removed from Getty so far, still have more than a few dozen to be removed but at least it is in the works.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Cavan Images

If it doesn't work out and you want to leave, how long are your images tied in for? I have a friend at another macro site, and his images are tied in for 2 years if he chooses to leave, and he also can't upload similars elsewhere in that period. Is it the same at Cavan?

I started submitting to Cavan (only about 20 images) but stopped because they have a 2 year exclusive hold on your images before they'll remove them from the site. I knew about the 2 year hold beforehand and thought I'd be ok with it but ultimately decided it's a deal breaker for me. Yes they also restrict out take images from the same shoot to be submitted elsewhere.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Eyeem Marketplace Down?
« on: March 08, 2018, 15:22 »
I haven't checked in with my Eyeem account for awhile did I miss something with their site being down? The past couple of days I am getting 403 Forbidden when trying to visit the Eyeem website. The phone app shows my images, but when trying to go to the marketplace I am just getting that error message too? I searched google and here for news but am coming up empty.

work for me...

Ok thank you. I emailed Eyeem support because I have tried on Chrome, FireFox, and Safari on two different computers and my iPhone and I cannot access the site. That or it must be something with my IP address?

I have been shooting in studio and public outdoor spaces but want to start doing more commercial lifestyle shoots at my local small businesses coffee shop, brewery, bakery, etc. I understand I will need a property release but wanted to ask the best way to go about gaining access to private business locations? Is it customary to pay to use the space and if so how much? Or see if they'll do a trade for photos? Best way to ask if staff would be willing to model, if so how much should they be paid?

And I'm just wondering what's taking my rejection so long? I mean that. I thought I'd apply just to see but I'm pretty sure they want models, lifestyle, trendy artistic, stylish, no bright typical micro. I'm none of that, but still, I thought it made sense to at least apply and hope? I'd look forward to sending them the more artistic works and not waste time with the same on Micro.

I'm still in the running.

I'm out of discussing it here as I'm obviously annoying people (which is not my intention).

Glad you're still in the running ;) I think you're just trying to hard to ask everyone what they think Stocksy wants. Don't over analyze it, I think that they are simply looking for fresh new creative work. Put forth a portfolio you believe in and love and even if they don't accept you you know who you are as a photographer. Just be authentic.

I get it I want to be on the site too, the waiting and getting your hopes up sucks if it's a no in the end (8 weeks and counting here). However I want to create work I want to create and if it is a fit, it's a fit, if not then I will look to sell my current work somewhere it will succeed and try again later on when I have newer work for them to review.

I am heading out to a model shoot later today and want to submit the images to beef up my application since I don't have many images with people. Do they only accept their model release from their site or can I submit with Easy Release from the app on my phone? I have had an agency in the past who wouldn't accept a digital signature too.
yes, they accept Easy Release.

Thank you for the info!

Our acceptance time is a week or less. But nobody is telling you to withhold submitting to other places until after you're accepted.

Thanks for the info. Cavan Images has a long hold on removed images after they approve, so anything I submit to them that's accepted is off limits to my Stocksy application.

I applied to Stocksy a month ago when I first saw the call for artists and am still waiting for a response. Does anyone know how long the application process takes? I think it said two weeks when I submitted? Do they just not follow up if you're rejected?

I was also recently accepted to Cavan images where I did submit my editorial images with them. I also want to submit my commercial images to Cavan but can't yet because most of them are sitting waiting for a response from Stocksy.

Does anyone know if Stocksy has a time limit for removal of images after acceptance? I think Alamy has 60 days for example. I just don't want my images to be crossing paths between to exclusive sites if I am accepted to Stocksy!
