I never talked about revealing your best-selling clips or your niches. Sorry if it came across like that. And mentioning one's income and clip volume is obviously only for those who want to. I just wanted a discussion about at which sites people have good sales at the moment. This can of course vary greatly among users. The purpose is to help each other and together understand the market.

I will start the discussion by saying I sell best at Shutterstock at the moment, where I in average make around USD 50 a month from around 200 clips. I recently put up content on other sites as well (Adobe and Dreamstime), but haven't had any sales there worth mentioning yet.  :)

Hi, this topic has probably been up lots of times, but I guess it also needs to be updated quite often.
But which are the stock footage sites where you get most sales and income? How much do you earn?

If you mention your income from a site, please also mention approximately how many clips you have there, since it makes more sense to compare sales when knowing how many clips contribute to generating those sales.

and the clip(s) were accepted elsewhere?
Yes, they were accepted on another stock site as well. But I have removed them just to be safe.

Hello.
I have been an active Pond5 contributor for years, until recently. Suddenly they just blocked and wiped my account with no explanation. They didn't even notify me.
Later, but only when I contacted them, they explained that "There is evidence that your account is linked to activities that are against our policies."
Although I insisted (through calls, chats and e-mails to their customer service, even to their legal department) on knowing what those activities would be, they have not given my any explanation. When I asked if I could open an account again, an agent just said "I don't think so".
I do have a guess. In my second account (having two accounts is allowed by Pond5 as long the content is different), I had footage that depicted a terrorist holding a weapon. I produced that footage in a studio, using a greenscreen and putting a "desert" background. It looked very real. The footage was intended to serve in documentaries etc.
Maybe Pond5 thought these images were against there policy, maybe they suspected I was engaged in terrorism, I don't know. I actually don't have a clue because they have not explained and don't seem to want to...
The strange thing is that before closing down the accounts they accepted those images to be up for sale online... and I even had sales on them. If the images were against the policy, why did they not just reject them?
That speaks against the images being the reason...

Has anyone else had their account blocked and wiped by Pond5?
I had invested weeks, months, years in creating, uploading and keywording... huge loss of investment!

Please note that this post is not to get "revenge" speaking bad about Pond5, I am still trying to figure out the reason whey they did this and if there is any way to have it solved (at least being allowed a new account).
